  2. Depends on the objective. Maybe he didn't plan on leaving ole Miss and this is all about leverage. Maybe he doesn't care as much about the end money but wants more resources. Let's get real. The money all these coaches are getting paid is more than enough to live on and leave a substantial nest egg for multiple generations.
  3. Sad thing about today's College Football is that my first thought when I heard about Wilcox is would any of their players help Oregon next year? On that thought, are any of the USC players ready to move up to a better program?
  4. Lots of talk about Lane Kiffin going to LSU for the biggest paycheck in college football. How does one negotiate a contract with LSU when they are trying to deny paying Brian Kelly his severance pay? I am not debating whether Kelly earned it or not. It seems that LSU is not honoring their agreement. If I am Lane Kiffen, I have to ask myself, will they honor my agreement?
  5. If they get less than 8 wins next season he's out. Otherwise.... 2 seasons. Let that recruiting class become sophomores. He is going to have to kill it in the portal. But with Lanning and Cignetti around.... Portal hunting is even harder.
  6. Probably would not have happened if Ron Rivera wasn't calling the shots in Berkeley. Cal looked awful against Stanford. Perhaps Luck at Stanford and Rivera at Cal should look in the mirror for the next HC at their respective school. UCLA, Stanford, Oregon State, and Cal with job openings. One third of OBD's former conference members. And how much more rope will SC give Riley? Next season, SC plays Ohio State, OBD, UW, Indiana, Penn State, and perhaps Notre Dame. QB Jayden Maiava, TE Lake McRee, WRs Lemon and Lane, and outstanding safety Kamari Ramsey are all eligible for the 2026 draft. No matter how good the 2026 recruiting class is, these guys will not be easy to replace. SC is far from a PO lock next season. This just in! Even when the PO field expands to 16 teams, 88%, 120 out of 136 FBS teams, will not be in the PO field. It only took Indiana 136 seasons to find Cignetti. 😁 And FWIW, I will go on record: Under James Franklin, Virginia Tech will not win a national championship and may never make a PO appearance.
  7. All comes down to ONE big question. Does Lupoi want to be a head coach? I don't think he does, if he wanted a HC gig he could have had one by now and probably one that would at least be equal if not greater than Cal. He might take it but I'd be absolutely shocked if he did.
  8. No "ill will" someone said? His defenses when DC injured at least 3 of our qb's over the years on questionable hits. I don't forget or forgive that kind of culture. Yeah, maybe a perfect Beavis.
  9. My sentiments exactly... I actually think he would do better there than CAL. Plus he'd be able to have his linemen score an inside NIL deal on the Wilcox Family Farm!
  10. ESPN.comCal fires Justin Wilcox: Top candidates, transfers and re...Cal becomes the latest to join the coaching market. Leadership and financial issue make it tricky for candidates.
  11. I won't give you the whole transcript, but below are some pretty big bullet-points.... --Like so many analysts, pundits and TV hosts have stated, they told us a couple of times in the video that, "when Oregon gets healthy, they're going to be scary." --Dante Moore had an astounding "90" score? They asserted, "he's an NFL quarterback, and looked preposterous against that USC defense." --"If Dante declares for the NFL Draft, I would take him as the No. 1 QB in the draft ahead of Mendoza of Indiana, and Simpson of Alabama between talent and upside." --Poncho only played 12 snaps in the game? We did that rushing attack with Pickard at center? --The Oregon offensive line received an outstanding 84 pass-protection grade, as Dante Moore was only pressured five times the entire game. --"Oregon is THE best pass-blocking team in America." --Oregon's defensive line received a combined 79 score, compared to the USC score of 49. "Oregon was better in the trenches." "Oregon's run defense was phenomenal." --"Oregon's defensive line was the most dominant unit on the field." --"Oregon's secondary did a great job with covering the underneath routes, as there were very few yards after the catch." Thus the run game, and the short passing game was shut down by the Ducks. Throwing the 50/50 balls was their offense... --Only two missed tackles the entire game? Whew! "One of the best tackling teams in America." Some Great Stuff and about 11 minutes is all...

  13. I don't think he was the right fit for the Oregon job. But if he had the job he would have done far better than he did at Cal. The resources and support at Oregon is completely different. Just look at what happened to all our previous head coaches who left.... They did much worse. Wilcox would have kept Oregon where we were and nor elevate the program. He'd probably be getting 8-10 win seasons (including bowl games) ... Which wouldn't cut it for where we want to go but would be far better than Cal. Lanning has elevated the program.
  14. Thanks. Jon, OK by me if it goes in the record books as a tie.
  15. Those DBs held Lemon, the “best WR in FBS,” to only 34 yards receiving, 4.89 yards per catch. OBD took away USCs strength and forced other players to step up. I think they did a fantastic job. The future is bright!
  16. They did, but it didn’t count. The Heisman Association may have given Bush his trophy back, but we all know he was about 17 years too early to be receiving NIL payments. We are now seeing the results of what came from USC being found out and then being made to play by the rules that every other team has to follow.
  17. Ivy League champ Yale automatically qualified for the 2025 FCS Playoff, and Harvard was added as an at-large team. The first Ivy League football teams to participate in the postseason. 11/29/25 - Harvard at Villanova; Yale at Youngstown State. Eli! Eli! Bulldog! Rah, Rah, Rah! Most fans know of Georgia's mascot, a bulldog named 'UGA.' Fewer know that Yale's mascot is a bulldog named 'Handsome Dan.' During his career with ESPN, Lee Corso called both UGA and Dan, 'Ugly!' The University of Georgia was the first chartered state university. The charter was written in 1785 by 'the father of Georgia,' Yale graduate Abraham Baldwin. Baldwin was Yale's first president, and he was followed by another Yale graduate, Josiah Miggs, who was a student of Baldwin's at Yale. Many of Georgia's first instructors were southerners who graduated from Yale. Many of Yale's traditions followed the first two presidents and other men of Yale influential in the University's early days to Athens, Georgia, including the Bulldog mascot, which was officially adopted in 1920. WOOF!
  18. Remember when Oregon inexplicably offered him the job? Bullet dodged.
  19. He's available for the Oregon State job!
  20. A lot can happen between now and the final poll. Lets get by UW first. Then worry about how the rest shakes out.
  21. On3California fires head football coach Justin WilcoxCalifornia has fired head football coach Justin Wilcox toward the end of his ninth season in charge of the program, On3's Pete Nakos has learned. Not all that unexpected. Cal hasn't been terribly good under Wilcox and well they haven't been very good under any head coach in the last twenty years really. Cal and Stanford are both looking for new coaches now. It will be interesting to see who they go after and if they decide to try and take football more seriously. Wilcox will probably go off and be a DC somewhere again for a while and get another shot at a HC job. Cal just doesn't have the resources to be all that successful. I don't think he was the right fit for Oregon but I don't harbor any ill feelings towards him. Just another coaching vacancy to watch.
  22. Championship History SUC 1-1 OBD 0-2 UW 0-1 Not much to brag about for SUC fan. Everything thing else they flap their gums about is like pre Super Bowl Lions or Bears fans yapping about their glorious 40’s and 50’s runs.
  23. SC did win one on the field of play when they pantsed Oklahoma in the 2005 BCS champ game. Later vacated. By a group of 'judges' led by the Miami AD. 🤪
  24. Congratulations, Grandpa! (🤬🤬🤬) But I have the UW winner right here, somewhere, if only find it. 😁
  25. In retrospect of things I guess a 15 yard PI is better than a 35 yard reception. I thought the Duck secondary did as good as they could do given the circumstances.
  26. lol. You know you have been disrespected when your opponents linebacker scores on you with a designed play. I did admire at how good thier WRs were at pushing off the DBs.
  27. Snap counts vs sc. I realize this is a post-game article, but I thought people may have moved on from that thread and this was of interest. A recap of Oregon's snap counts from Saturday's win over USC FYI Offensive line Dave Iuli - 74 snaps / 665 season snaps Emmanuel Pregnon - 74 snaps / 627 season snaps Alex Harkey - 70 snaps / 605 season snaps Charlie Pickard - 62 snaps / 133 season snaps Fox Crader- 55 snaps / 88 season snaps Isaiah World - 19 snaps / 611 season snaps Iapani Laloulu - 12 snaps / 602 season snaps Kawika Rogers - 4 snaps / 66 season snaps Trent Ferguson - 1 snap / 46 season snaps Douglas Utu - 1 snap / 10 season snaps
