While acknowledging TT will be a tough opponent, at least they, too, have to travel across the country to play this game so no disadvantage to OBD. Of all the teams from ye olde Pac12, the one I miss playing the most is Utah. I enjoyed and respected the teams that Coach Whittingham always brought to the field. They were never an easy out, and always played their backsides off until the final whistle. This is great news for Oregon’s defense next season. Bear has really improved and perhaps he can work himself into the first round with a big season. Barner and Stewart had a nice interview with Bear before the USC game. I believe that he said that he earned his degree.

When I consider the motivation people have for an action they take I look for the obvious. I believe Bear is having fun being where he is doing what he’s doing. Why trade what he has for the uncertainty of whatever happens next?

Coach Whitt is a shining star in the disheveled universe of head coaches. He led with hard work, integrity and continual improvement. I will miss him heading Utah football.
