Oregon Broke Penn State
In two years at the UO, Rueben Droughns played in eleven games and had half of OU's top ten rushing games. Un freaking believable.

Florida Beats Texas! Congrats to GatOrlando!
Hats off to the Gators and Gat! Hats off to my betting buddies who convinced our consortium to bet the under preseason win total for Clemson and Texas. Guys who played on a 4-loss team at Clemson last season were being lauded as preseason All-Americans. Texas lost many quality players from last year's team, the Archie adulation was hive mind hideous, and what has Sark won in his career? A B12 title with a superior roster in that conference. BTW, he defeated Mike Gundy in the B12 champ game to win the title. 😁 If you are hungry in Austin, Texas, do not look for Golden Arches. And frankly, Franklin overpaid for Jim Knowles, and is overpaid himself at PSU. One old Patriot, Mike Patricia, looks like the assistant coach hire of the year. Did anyone in Chapel Hill check Billy's record without Tommy? Saturday's Assistant Coach of the Week 6 Award goes to Jerry Neuheisel. If Nits fans are ticked off about Jerry's Dad not being objective on Saturday ... 🤬🤬🤬. It's OK, hockey season has started. 🤣🤣🤣 As is often the case, on a down CFB weekend, CFB came through. 😍😍😍 PS - In T-Town, Don Diego couldn't cash the checks he wrote with his mouth. Even with Johnny Football on the sideline. 🤑

Oregon Broke Penn State
Penn State was pretty crazy today. Thought about them a bit and I came to one major conclusion at least on offense, they really, really miss Tyler Warren. It's seems like stretch that a TE (who actually was replaced by what is considered a pretty good player) could mess up an offense that much; but, one of those loveable thing about the college game, sometimes one player (all the key drive saving plays, all the total production he provided and all the attention he demanded from defenses) can sometimes make that much of a difference. Took me back to Oregon and 1998. Oregon's offense was tearing it up. Rueben Droughns was averaging 7.4 ypc and 165 ypg. Oregon was 60/40 run/pass and scoring 48.5 ppg. In those first 6 games Oregon rushing as a whole was 256 carries for 1445 yards @ 5.64 ypc. After Droughns left, Oregon could no longer run the ball. Not really at all. I think Derien Latimer took over (as Ho-Ching checked out about the same time as RD and he was sitting at only 3.6 ypc). Oregon did try to continue to run the ball and it was just different. Three post-Drougns games were 32 carries for 64 yards, 32 carries for 61 yards, and 38 carries for 31 yards. Oregon eventually had to lean into the pass and turned into 49/51 run/pass. In the last 6 games Oregon managed to salvage 30.2 ppg; but, rushing those games was 219 carries for 494 yards @ 2.26 ypg). 1445 rushing yards in the first six games, 494 rushing yards in the last 6 games and 48.5 ppg to 30.2 ppg just switch out the RB. Not the same as the Penn State thing I know; but, it did make me think of that season.

Week 6 College Football Games -
NEVADA vs FRESNO State is turning into one of the more competitive games of the day. QB battle between Chubba Purdy (Brock Purdy's lil bro) and EJ Warner (Kurt Warner's son) Warner is definitely playing the better game. And as I say that Purdy gets replaced by a freshman...

Oregon Broke Penn State
I think that makes us 6 - 0 since Penn St. let Oregon beat them twice.

Oh Beavis....Lost to Appalachian State?
Gee whiz, after a loss in a White Out? Give PSU a break! Right? Compared to: After a loss to the number 1 team in the nation and having to travel 3 time zones away to play an undefeated team, and being behind going into the 4th quarter, how about we get Husky with it and win! It's a 12-game regular season, and there are no excuses. You win or lose, period, end of sentence. I don't believe that James Franklin could carry Jedd Fisch's jock strap. Franklin has coached in a 3-team only competitive conference, taken advantage of recruiting happy hunting grounds, won enough games to stay employed for B1G bucks, and will never win the games that matter. There is no, nada, nudge, stugotz excuses for losing at UCLA. If I'm a PSU booster with B1G Bucks, I'm thinking about bringing in Pat Fitzgerald. Someone who will get right down to the real nitty-gritty. Someone who will coach up his players to punch the other guy in the mouth. PSU is a team that opened the wallet to keep NFL guys on campus and to bring in the missing pieces needed to win it all. Like Michigan in 2023 and Ohio State in 2024. But with an SSDD head coach.

Mark Sanchez Stabbed and Arrested
As long as he recovers can I ask if this is his second most embarrassing moment after the ummmmm.....??

Oh Beavis....Lost to Appalachian State?
I can't find any sympathy. Even if they go oh-fer. They and Canzano deserve each other. At least for now they still have baseball?

Oregon Broke Penn State
Oregon has looked and played like an elite team. Penn State has looked and played like a mediocre team outside of about ten minutes. It's time to call out the facts. Penn States best win has been over Nevada. They now have lost to UCLA. They should not be ranked anywhere. Oregon should still be ranked top 3, they shouldn't be punished.

Florida Beats Texas! Congrats to GatOrlando!
Is it wrong that I'm feeling two ways about a win by the team I want nothing but success? Short term I'm elated to see a top 10 win and love it for the current guys who've stayed through the turmoil and worked their butts off. I've seen this script before though. Last year with LSU, Ole Miss, FSU and the bowl game. It's why Billy was retained and Lagway was a Heisman candidate. But the season started and before we even got to October it was done. There isn't a snowballs chance at a conference or playoff. At Florida that isn't good enough. Napier is now 22-22 in his fourth year, he isn't the answer. My fear is they beat enough decent teams that the leadership gets fooled again. It's never going to happen and the sooner everyone knows that the better. Best case scenario is Billy has been told quietly this is it and he goes out on a high. He is a good man and I hope he gets another shot and succeeds.

Whether or not Oregon’s win will be viewed as diminished will have everything to do with which Penn State team shows up in Columbus on Nov 1st.

Mark Sanchez Stabbed and Arrested
So Sanchez allegedly got in a fight with a 69 year old delivery driver, lost the fight, got pepper sprayed, got stabbed, then got arrested?

Oh Beavis....Lost to Appalachian State?
Is it too late to squeeze Penn St into the schedule?

Sources: Big Ten Mulling $2B Private Capital Deal
I got you Jon. Ididn't see it like that, I was hung up on the language. I was just questioning what these private investors are going to want or are getting promised to invest in these brands. I know private donors get things named after them, and the larger ones get some voice in the room. I know these are going to be very small percentile in comparison to what the B1G has already, but they will want something. I hope we don't get patches on the uniforms or fields. That's my only hope.

Oh Beavis....Lost to Appalachian State?
Their GM quit. I think he's looking for a job at Linfield? How do you turn $300M into zip? Give it to Beavis and the clawless, clueless, Cougars. Best of luck, Wazzu at Ole Miss next Saturday.

Oregon Broke Penn State
Absolutely diminished. It's sad, but it's a game of comparative scores. There is zero excuse for a team with a Blue Chip Roster showing up in LA with no will to win the game.

Oregon Broke Penn State
I agree, the OBD White Out win is diminished. Not because of what I think, thank goodness, but because of the system. There is ZERO excuse for PSU to lose in LA today while looking feeble in the process. You do not get a hangover loss in CFB. PSU Will Win The Natty Nits, will lose in Columbus, at home against Indiana, possibly at Iowa, and one more game. This team, for whatever reason or no reason, is simply not that good. Lose the LOS to OBD? OK. Lose the LOS to UCLA? PSU, along with Clemson and Texas, is one of the 2025 Emperor Has No Clothes teams. Jim Knowles no longer has Caleb Downs et al to move around his chessboard.

Oregon Broke Penn State
Why not? What do we have other than trans properties? This was a bottom-feeder loss for PSU. An L that sullies last Saturday's win. Without a win in Columbus and a win against Indiana, We Are The Champs, Penn State will not qualify for the PO. PSU allowed the wrong QB to escape to Mizzou. PSU is trying to run an RPO O without a QB fit for an RPO. This, after paying mucho dinero to keep guys at Beaver Stadium, playing for a sure thing, an NFL first-round draft pick QB, and WRs who can actually catch a football. And I do think in the subjective world of CFB rankings, this does diminish last Saturday's win. I also believe UW's comeback against Maryland helps OBD's cause. It's unfortunately all about transitive properties and comparison scores. 136 teams in theory competing for a spot in a 12-team PO, the manner in which you win and lose matters. The win in a White Out? Was it that B1G of a deal? OBD, but for a couple of plays, was 'This Close' to a three-score win. From a mile away - Penn State fans will now whine about the strenuous travel post-White Out. This never would have happened but for the Newbie Westies!🤬 OT - My Vegas buddies, including Moi, called the under win total for Clemson and Texas. It's always good when you can line up after Week 6 to collect season-long future bets. 🤑 If you're looking for the Golden Arches in Austin, Texas, good luck, yuck, yuck 😁.

I honestly feel sorry for their players, but not so much their fans.

Traveling to different time zones isn’t that easy. Ducks are time travel warriors.

In fairness .... Boise is not on par with Boise from last year.

Oregon Broke Penn State
Long season and some random teams usually take the place of those that fall. The SEC has a relative LOT of losses on the ledger for their contenders. The normal pattern for the SEC would be that “Texas only lost because now Florida is in the top 10, so let’s not penalize Texas too much.” Hard to do that when they lose to a Florida team with a losing record, but they‘ll try. SOS concepts being tossed around by the SEC mouthpieces are a bunch of smoke imo. Only way we don’t get in with 2 losses is if we have horrible timing. If we go 10-0, drop the last 2 in a row and don’t make the B1G championship game….thats the only 2 loss scenario that keeps us out IMO.

ESPN GameDay: 'They're COMING...to Our City!'
Friday is the day to go to get a close-up look without the crowd. Not saying don't go on Saturday too, if you're so inclined, but Friday you can go in early afternoon, and the crew will be there on and off.
