It is Easy to Question Our Program Right Now
PS. Charles, This is the Only site I visit. No pay sites... Nothing else! I have x and news etc, but the rest of sites are paid click bait garbage compared to the site you provide. Thank you again for all your time, commitment, knowledge and of course your own dollars!

Mike, that is the right attitude. Getting there is more than half the fun.

It is Easy to Question Our Program Right Now
Great post Mike, and I thank you for it. My pet peeve are people who almost never post....until we lose. Then they come out of the woodwork to Jerk. Who needs that? As far as I'm concerned...those who post here on a regular basis about all the goings-on with the program, and all the topics have every right to complain and state their issues with coaching or player performance. That is the purpose of a forum...to discuss the good and the bad. But I don't have much patience for those who only show up to Jerk. Of course those who that pertains to will not make the connection because... Some fans are like Huskies...

WHAT? "Pac-12 Should Actively Seduce Washington, Cal and UCLA"
There's rumor of an intellectual property called 'Field of Broken Dreams'. Apparently it's being greenlit by the CW. Canzano is writing the script as we speak.

It is Easy to Question Our Program Right Now
I am not questioning our program at all!! Love Dan and I hope he continues to love Eugene! We had a great season and I expect one next year too. Only one team per yr is the Nat Champion... Final 4 not so bad for an injured team, one with some questions at several positions and Offensive and Defensive coordinators holding two jobs. Yes the interception to start and the fumbles were killers, as were the continual plays by Indiana Qb and his receivers, Dan will figure it out.... I am certain of this! All things in their own time. Go Ducks!! Throw the ball lol.

It is Easy to Question Our Program Right Now
Thanks Mike West. I have to admit that I shake my head at some of these threads that question Dan Lannings capabilities and/or decision making. I trust our Head Coach and those he assembles around him. GO DUCKS!

It is Easy to Question Our Program Right Now
Don't. Just don't. Review the season. OBD were who we thought they were. Before the season, during the season, and now .. Young, inexperienced, mistake prone, wild swings in performance. Dan Lanning elevated a team that had NO BUSINESS earning a semi final berth. This very forum continuously questioned this team's capacity. It started the first week of October. Why are we surprised? Denny Green has been saying all year "we let em off the hook!". All year. The team was coached up. An explosive offense earned 28 points against a defense that should give up 35 . No LB speed, still vulnerable at safety. Never set the edge strategy, prone to allowing key 3rd down conversions. Horrible in the red zone. A QB with all the potential, but nowhere near enough experience. Some say he's soft. An OL that can win a battle in a box, but has trouble moving laterally. Injuries at key skill positions all year. What can you expect when an incomplete team faces an execution juggernaut? Some of this is coaching, but golly, the team had flaws any elite program will attack. Dan Lanning is ahead of the curve by a galaxy When all is said and done, players must execute. I hope nobody in Duck Nation is claiming OBD came even close to executing well on Friday. The Program is in the best hands it has ever had. There is no such thing as perfection. It's the pursuit that matters. It's the journey folks. Life is about the journey.

Dan Lanning Needs to Change His Rematch Mentality
I agree with Mike West..... Throw the damn ball. (forward not backward)

Dan Lanning Needs to Change His Rematch Mentality
I just want to see the offense throw the damn ball deep 8 times a game. We're all throwing conjecture on a wall. So my take is: do what we did October 2024. It worked. Why not go back to it? It also worked against Auburn. Do you see a pattern here?

Transfer Portal Hails and Farewells
This will be Ayedin Breeland's and Elijah Rushing's time to work into the 2 deep and show what their development over the last couple years has yielded.

Kenyon Sadiq Declares For NFL Draft
Not surprised at all. Jamari Johnson has shown he's got what it takes to be TE1. Depth behind him is a concern, Andrew Olesh will need to show that he developed well over his redshirt year.

Jamari Johnson Announces Return to Oregon, Giving Ducks a Star Tight End for 2026
It is also possible that his earlier announcement to file for the NFL draft was leverage to get higher NIL.

Kenyon Sadiq Declares For NFL Draft
He is definitely built for the NFL. I wish he still had 2 more years --Best of Luck in the future.

Kenyon Sadiq Declares For NFL Draft
It was a long shot that he stayed for another season. Johnson has really come along this season. Olesh and Harrison (the due is six foot seven!) I think we will have plenty of weapons at tight end. Though we lost two tight ends so that is less great for the depth. Wouldn't be surprised if we go after another tight end in the portal at this point.

Transfer Portal Hails and Farewells
It's going to be tough to get quality backups with the starters there. Maybe they will convince one or two to stay $$$$

Kenyon Sadiq Declares For NFL Draft
I don’t blame him at all, as he is truly ready built for the next level. He also set a standard for future tight ends to aspire to…

A Big Ten Network (BTN) Heads Up
If you are tired of the ESPN GameDay crew, check out the championship game coverage on BTN. Monday, 1/19/26, B1G Live Show on BTN, 2 PM Pacific. The BTN crew does a terrific pregame job of analyzing upcoming games. Also, the best pregame champ game coverage I have seen to date was Greg McElroy breaking down the game on his Always College Football (ACF) program. I record McElroy's show on ESPN U. The program, and Greg's pregame coverage, are available on YouTube. Greg sees Indiana winning a close game, 27 to 20. The B1G's Gerry DiNardo predicts more Indiana fans in Hard Rock than Miami fans. Go Fernando! We want a B1G Three-peat!

Jamari Johnson Announces Return to Oregon, Giving Ducks a Star Tight End for 2026
Pretty sure this confirms that Sediq is going to the NFL, not that I was thinking there was much chance at him returning, but with Olesh coming in, Harrison also coming in.

Dan Lanning Needs to Change His Rematch Mentality
TOSU did hit “kick our butts” in the regular season 2024. It’s irrelevant to say that the loosing team had better talent, or that the winning team had more experience. When a player puts on his shoes the day of the game he brings the combined talent and experience to the field. He’s either better than the player wearing the other uniform or he’s not. My belief is that in all six games, on the day of the games, OBDs were not the better team for a variety of reasons. Yet, because of good coaching and home field advantage we narrowly won one of them. The results make it difficult argue otherwise.

Oregon Football: Grading the Dylan Raiola Transfer
I watched a number of Nebraska games the last couple of years. I have mixed feelings about Raiola. There is certainly talent there. In-game decisions were spotty. So much depends on our OC.

Are We REAL Oregon Fans, or Bandwagon Fans?
Proud to Be a Duck, Win or Lose Hi everyone, This is my first post on the OBD forum after years of reading as a guest every day. Reading this post, I decided it was time to start contributing my part to the forum and lend my own position on being a fan. Thank you Charles, for the intake call. I learn from all of you and feed off your passion. Like you, I share a deep enthusiasm for the Ducks. Through great wins and brutal losses, my respect for the coaches and players never wavers. They give their all for this team, and that effort deserves my support no matter the outcome. One trend that stands out under Ciach Lanning is the average points allowed per game: Mike Bellotti: 27.0 PPG average, highest season 32.4, lowest 21.0. Chip Kelly: 23.0 PPG average, highest season 24.5, lowest 22.0. Mark Helfrich: 34.0 PPG average, highest season 42.1, lowest 25.0. Willie Taggart: 41.4 PPG average (one season). Mario Cristobal: 27.0 PPG average, highest season 30.0, lowest 25.0. Dan Lanning: 19.5 PPG average, highest season 22.0, lowest 17.9. This is just one example of a special era that continues to look promising going forward. And this on top of tying the school record for wins (13), a new program mark of 71.8% for passing efficiency, and some gritty road warrior games. Looking forward to engaging with all of you, and what's ahead in 2026.

Are We REAL Oregon Fans, or Bandwagon Fans?
I turned the game off at the start of the second quarter. I needed to be a good role model for my young children and yelling at the TV is not that. After losses I usually need to disconnect a bit for a few days. It did ruin my entire weekend for the record... kinda hated it was a Friday night game because of that. I'm now dipping back into Oregon football again... in part because I feel like I am a true fan... in part because I think I'm just addicted to Oregon football. I can't stay away forever. It does have an emotional toll on me for sure... but the wins are amazing and lows are really low. https://fishduck.com/2023/12/the-pain-of-being-a-superfan/
