  3. I think Dante Moore would have out performed either of the 2 QBs in the super bowl this year. To me the game was awful.
  4. I think he is a wise man who has received wise counsel from his support group. I think he is more likely to fulfill his goals this way. Also a nice role model alternative for the NIL era
  5. OBD's certainly have the talent to win the Natty next season. ..... However they first have to gel together, navigate a strong conference schedule and minmize injuries to key players. Then the young coaching staff needs to continue to improve their game planning and in game adjustments in the CFP. It took Cig 4 decades to win his Natty. DL is in his 5th season. Can he learn and adjust when it matters? I believe he will, just don't know what season......

  7. He also knows that his skill level is not NFL level under pressure. Watching the Super Bowl is a reminder that a top level defense forces QBs to get the ball out in about 2 seconds just to survive. Then you actually need to complete the pass to guys wearing the same uniform.
  8. A B1G question: QB or not QB? Don't doubt Dante. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/02/09/oregon-football-big-ten-qb-rankings-2026/88578795007/?utm_source=smg-duckswire-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign
  9. Since we will probably/have to lose all the returners on the DL, it will be interesting to see if any of the departures try and return for Duck glory. And, if so, will they be welcomed back?
  10. I love the top prediction but reading between the lines, there are too many B1G teams that would make the playoff. By my count he has Oregon, Washington, U$C and Indiana all in. What about a Michigan team that beats OSU in the 'shoe'? Does a three loss OSU get left out? Can any three loss BIG team get in? So maybe five B1G teams in the CFP? I can see the snowflakes falling in Hades, hear the outraged whining from SEC land and the hurricane roar from Pawwl F's ears flapping.
  11. I don't know how to feel about that, and the many other predictions about Oregon getting their first 'Natty. The respect and exposure is great, but we have not yet proven to respond to the big moments yet. But eventually we can break through and...
  12. All, I will miss Tionne Gray and Blake Purchase. They are both terrific athletes, and I appreciated Blake Purchase's RS year to better prepare himself. I believe we will miss both of these players immensely. We must be smarter with the carrots we use; the players want to play, but the other players motivate players better than just the coaches. I believe we ought to start substituting Elijah Rushing and Aydin Breland whenever it is feasible to give the starters a break. Use them or LOSE them. When we give the defensive starters a break to catch their breath, we produce a better product; and not all at once, please. Too many teams (in the B1G) are head-hunting OBDs - don't want to give teams an easy 7 like we provided Northwestern this year. Don't want to reward but then punish our defensive starters. I could visualize Elijah as another Matayo if he gets the snaps, and the players hold him to the Duck standard; IF. The same with Aydin - use that carrot, but from the players; it's more powerful. Best regards, and of course, Go Ducks!!! KCDuck1
  13. Crazy to think it only took 60 Super Bowls for $c to have a starting QB.
  14. We are all just camels to them. One straw at a time, one fan by the wayside at a time.
  15. Fans became the victims. The cost of chasing a trophy that in the scheme of our families lives, means absolutely nothing. Another alternative was to rebuild conference with the rodents, and cougs. That keeps ticket prices lower, but….
  16. CBS is predicting that OBD win the whole banana this year. They also have tOSU losing three games, one of those to Kyle Whittingham at Michigan. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-football-bold-predictions-2026-way-too-early-top-25/
  17. Good for him. Sometimes, with some people, money isn't the only thing that matters. It's easy these days to be cynical about everything in college football, but I believe him, too.
  18. I hope so as well, but.... There will be a massive "construction" fee per seat on the north side in the future to upgrade the stadium and add 10-12,000 more seats some day.
  19. College football is big business. I remember the Chip Kelly train and when it ran off the tracks with Mark Helfrich. The athletic department is going to push the price of tickets as high as possible, while still selling out. When the train went off the rails and the stadium wasn't selling out, it was amazing how flat the ticket price was for those couple of years. When demand is higher than supply, it doesn't matter what it is, the price is going to go higher. One can hope, when the Ducks do make equal TV revenue money, they will be able to ease off a little on the continual raising of athletic ticket prices.
  20. Let’s hope! I actually didn’t realize Arch was NFL eligible, so that’s interesting on a few levels to me.
  21. Thanks, Charles This old blind squirrel got lucky, threw out a number and came close! I nevet come close when picking on OBD games because i pick from my heart with a side order of wild passion. Charles thanks for the great forum. GO DUCKS!
  22. I believe him. Not sure how an NIL deal could influence turning down 55Mil guaranteed for a No.2 selection (as projected). Dante Moore Addresses $55 Million NFL Draft Decision And Oregon NIL I do wonder if somewhere there is an insurance policy for a few (?) mil in case of injury.
  23. This is from is from the Oregon newsletter and sheds some light on what is going on. Hope I formatted this correctly. "Is there something you've always wondered about UO athletics? Email rmoseley@uoregon.edu and you could possibly see your question answered in a future edition of the newsletter. We'll also use this space to answer questions we've fielded in person or noticed cropping up among fan discussions online. Sarah, Lake Oswego: It feels like everything costs more these days. With the move to the Big Ten and all the changes, how much more expensive is it really for Oregon now? And big picture, are we in a good financial spot compared to where we were a few years ago and where college sports are headed? Rob Moseley, UO athletics: That's a good read - costs are rising across college athletics, and that's true everywhere, not just at Oregon. And while the move to the Big Ten does add some incremental expense, it's a small piece of the overall picture compared to the overall financial landscape facing college sports. With passionate fans consistently selling out Autzen Stadium, Oregon generates approximately $30 million in football ticket revenue each year. Autzen is one of the great environments in college football - but at 54,000 seats, its capacity is significantly smaller than several Big Ten peers, including Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State, all of which seat more than 100,000 fans. For comparison, it was reported that Michigan generated $67.6 million in football ticket revenue in the 2024 season, more than double Oregon's total. It's also important to point out that Oregon Athletics is fully self-sustaining. The department receives no financial support from campus or student fees, pays the full cost of scholarships, and covers institutional expenses, including an annual 5 percent overhead campus assessment. In addition, following the House Settlement, Oregon is now sharing $20.5 million directly with student-athletes, a figure that will increase annually. Big picture, Oregon is in a solid and responsible financial position, but the environment is changing rapidly. As costs continue to rise nationally - particularly around student-athlete support and revenue sharing - maximizing revenue across tickets, media rights, sponsorships, licensing and philanthropy is essential to ensure Oregon continues to compete at the highest level of college athletics."
  24. I reserve this title for guys who didn't quit half way through a Pac-12/Rose Bowl championship season.
