  2. We saw several teams lose for the first time and while the Top 5 of the US LBM Coaches poll remains the same, the rest of it sees a major reshuffling of the teams. Oregon remains at No. 2 with the bye, but there was some speculation Miami might jump the Ducks after its 28-22 win at Florida State. The Hurricanes are still 41 points behind Oregon with Ohio State still at No. 1. Ole Miss and Texas A&M round out the Top 5. Top 5 of the US LBM Coaches poll stays the same with Penn State suffering a massive drop US LBM Coaches PollThe US LBM Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at Football Bowl Subdivision schools. The panel is chosen by random draw, conference by conference plus independents, from a pool of coaches who have indicated to the American Football Coaches Association their willingness to participate. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th. 4. Must be the weed. The state ranks very “high” in pot consumption per capita.
  5. Oregon not only won the football Big-10 Championship last year, but the Ducks were the BEST overall athletic department in the conference in our FIRST YEAR. B1G Surprise: Oregon, West Coast Teams Dominate Big-10
  6. Fentress is llike the Dollar Store Canzano in regards to stirring things up. He also appears to dislike fans utterly and exhibits an arrogant disregard for them, despite having no apparent skill set that I can discern. Must be nice to get paid to be below average.
  7. Just play the damn games……that is ALL that matters.
  8. All in all a good first showing, needs time with the first team to get on the same page on option routes but outside that looked good.
  9. It's so bad that people from Springfield have occasionally been able to get into UO.
  10. And YOU are the perfect example of how this community as much or expertise than the "experts" who write nationally. NOBODY can compete with our own "Schedule-Maven" in Jon Joseph!
  11. Years back I slammed Aaron Fentress for his crappy and often completely WRONG predictions--I'm still kicked off the Oregonian. AND--couldn't care less.
  12. The Big-10 is the elite academic and sports conference, and our placing could be "relative" compared to other conferences, such as the SEC. It reminds me of when people in Alabama are scolded about how the mortality and literacy stats for their state are near the bottom of the nation. Their answer? "At least we're not Mississippi!"

  15. Charles, I trust you can hear the AMEN! coming from this corner. Only one group of "experts" risk taking it in the shorts if wrong, the bookies. GO DUCKS, Hose The Hoosiers!
  16. Unfortunately we are ranked #17 out of the 18 Big Ten Universities academically by the latest US News and World Report. I am very happy to have my degree from The University of Oregon. I almost went to USC. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2025/10/04/big-ten-us-news-academic-ranking-2026/86513586007/#
  17. Coach Lanning needs to be grooming his leads on the next Will Stein Plus OC. Coach Stein will be the target of many programs. I hope that Stein will stay until the Ducks win the national championship, so he will have bigger and better opportunities.
  18. Dillon looks calm, cool, collected and well schooled through the first half. Despite some heavy rushes by the Vikes DG is getting the ball out and on target. He’s been lucky on several tips and hurries not to suffer an interception. Let’s see what the. second half brings?
  19. Oh sure, many of the national pundits/experts/writers offer good takes that make you ponder, but how many predicted Oregon to beat Penn State? Four out of five on the ESPN GameDay panel picked the 'Lions over the Ducks... In the preseason, how much did we hear about Texas (3-2), Penn State (3-2), or Clemson (2-3) being not only in the top-5, but often were Preseason 'Natty favorites? While we like to hear these guys give Oregon respect...in the end we get just as good as takes on the national situation from the good people of this forum. I recognize how hard it is to predict these things, (as our weekly prediction contest humbles us all) but those misses on purported top-5 teams is pretty massive. I have always been skeptical, but doesn't this alter your perceptions of the national media a bit more?
  20. One of these days I'm going to have the nerve to put some money down on -24 point home underdog and hopefully cash out big time. I was told gambling is a vice, but in small amounts it's pretty fun. I don't know how to play many of the tables in Vegas so betting on football is about as close to living on that edge as I'll ever get😂. I wonder if Penn State will have the money to do a fifty five million buyout for Franklin and his three million dollar coordinators.
  21. DG looking like a legit NFL QB, taking the lead going into the half.
  22. "The grass is greener in Eugene." Oregon Ducks On SIThree Reasons Why Oregon Is A Better Fit Than NFL For Dan...Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning is undoubtedly one of the the brightest young coaches in college football. Just five games into his fourth season as a head coach
  23. The original “Gang Green”, the 1994 Rose Bowl’s vaunted defensive backfield, wasn’t really questioned as the best the Ducks ever had until 2008, when “Gang Green 2.0” took the field, boasting Walter Thurmond, Jarius Byrd, Patrick Chung, and TJ Ward. Gang Green, yes! Addicted To QuackGang Green: The Return?Oregon has its best defensive backfield in over 15 years.
  24. In two years at the UO, Rueben Droughns played in eleven games and had half of OU's top ten rushing games. Un freaking believable.
  25. Hats off to the Gators and Gat! Hats off to my betting buddies who convinced our consortium to bet the under preseason win total for Clemson and Texas. Guys who played on a 4-loss team at Clemson last season were being lauded as preseason All-Americans. Texas lost many quality players from last year's team, the Archie adulation was hive mind hideous, and what has Sark won in his career? A B12 title with a superior roster in that conference. BTW, he defeated Mike Gundy in the B12 champ game to win the title. 😁 If you are hungry in Austin, Texas, do not look for Golden Arches. And frankly, Franklin overpaid for Jim Knowles, and is overpaid himself at PSU. One old Patriot, Mike Patricia, looks like the assistant coach hire of the year. Did anyone in Chapel Hill check Billy's record without Tommy? Saturday's Assistant Coach of the Week 6 Award goes to Jerry Neuheisel. If Nits fans are ticked off about Jerry's Dad not being objective on Saturday ... 🤬🤬🤬. It's OK, hockey season has started. 🤣🤣🤣 As is often the case, on a down CFB weekend, CFB came through. 😍😍😍 PS - In T-Town, Don Diego couldn't cash the checks he wrote with his mouth. Even with Johnny Football on the sideline. 🤑
  26. Penn State was pretty crazy today. Thought about them a bit and I came to one major conclusion at least on offense, they really, really miss Tyler Warren. It's seems like stretch that a TE (who actually was replaced by what is considered a pretty good player) could mess up an offense that much; but, one of those loveable thing about the college game, sometimes one player (all the key drive saving plays, all the total production he provided and all the attention he demanded from defenses) can sometimes make that much of a difference. Took me back to Oregon and 1998. Oregon's offense was tearing it up. Rueben Droughns was averaging 7.4 ypc and 165 ypg. Oregon was 60/40 run/pass and scoring 48.5 ppg. In those first 6 games Oregon rushing as a whole was 256 carries for 1445 yards @ 5.64 ypc. After Droughns left, Oregon could no longer run the ball. Not really at all. I think Derien Latimer took over (as Ho-Ching checked out about the same time as RD and he was sitting at only 3.6 ypc). Oregon did try to continue to run the ball and it was just different. Three post-Drougns games were 32 carries for 64 yards, 32 carries for 61 yards, and 38 carries for 31 yards. Oregon eventually had to lean into the pass and turned into 49/51 run/pass. In the last 6 games Oregon managed to salvage 30.2 ppg; but, rushing those games was 219 carries for 494 yards @ 2.26 ypg). 1445 rushing yards in the first six games, 494 rushing yards in the last 6 games and 48.5 ppg to 30.2 ppg just switch out the RB. Not the same as the Penn State thing I know; but, it did make me think of that season.
