  1. Past hour
  2. I have to wonder whether ever before there were three P-4 head coaches on the sideline coaching the same team at the same time. 😄
  3. I am actually not as worried about the OC/DC leaving as I have been in past years. Here is why: Dan "Freakin" Lanning. He has become the west coast version of Nick Saban and Saban had coordinators leave all the time. Recruits WANTED to play for Saban and DL has that exact same vibe. DL is better at relationship building that Saban was. Oregon has now become a destination program and add in the DL relationship piece...well, we are in a good place.

  6. I hope that happens. Notre Dame should be forced to join a real conference. No more special treatment. They could also be left out, if BYU or Duke wins.
  7. Both guys are staying through the playoffs right? James Madison, North Texas, Tulane, Alabama, and now Ohio State have coaches leaving for other jobs. Ole Miss drew the shortest stick of all, but at least Lane Kiffin is being nice, and "allowing" Weis Jr. to return and coach the playoffs. Crazy times my friends.
  8. And he’s not too shabby of a recruiter, which we know is important to Coach Lanning…
  9. Stay at No. 5, por favor, play the G6, er G5 team, in Autzen on Friday, 12/19 or Saturday, 12/20. Cheer on No. 4 Texas Tech to hand BYU its 2nd loss of the season to the Red Raiders and out of the playoffs. TT stays at No. 4. And cheer for UGA to win the rematch against Bama, and UVA to defeat 7-5 Duke 🤪. If UVA wins, Notre Dame and Miami will likely be ranked next to one another, and according to PO Committee guidelines, head-to-head results will have to be considered. Miami's best win? No. 10 Notre Dame. The Domers best win? No. 16 USC. Notre Dame's best loss? No. 7 Texas A+M. Miami's best loss? Choose between Louisville and SMU. The Irish and the Canes both destroyed a ranked Pitt team in Pittsburgh. Shake your PO money maker? The Domers, of course. If the Committee decides Notre Dame is the last team in and Miami is out, cancel all out-of-conference games against P4 opposition. USC should definitely drop Notre Dame. 10-2 SC would be in the mix for a PO spot. Why should Texas play Ohio State in 2026 instead of Texas State? 10-2 Texas is most likely in the PO. 12-0 Ohio State is in with a win over Miami of Ohio, and likely no lower than the 2nd seed. These marquee OCC games with millions of PO dollars at stake are not worth the candle. Exhibit A: 2nd-ranked Indiana played Old Dominion, Kennesaw State, and Indiana State OOC. Of course, if the SEC decided to (again) support Tony Petitti's AQ PO format, then play the baddest guys on the block OOC. BTW, why does Wisconsin AD Chris McIntosh keep doing this to Luke Fickell? In 2026, Wisconsin plays Notre Dame in Green Bay at Lambeau Field and also plays P4 Pittsburgh. 🙃 I think 11-1 North Texas and QB Drew Mestemaker defeat Tulane Saturday in New Orleans, win the AAC conference title, and earn the 12th seed. The Mean Green had one bad game this season vs. USF. In five of its last six games, North Texas has scored 50 or more points. Sit back, relax, and we'll learn on Sunday, ESPN - 9 AM Pacific, without having to cross the Rubicon, how (the PO) Alea iacta est.
  10. Today
  11. I went and read it and it's amazing. He played QB too. That will give him an edge in understanding while playing DB, and maybe we'll even get some trick plays using him in special teams or throw him in for a fake field goal or punt or something.
  12. Couldn't agree more. Stein & Lupoi have had the opportunity to witness the benefits of having coached a team to a national championship, and the impact that has on your future success. I believe Lanning & Company will be laser focused on the opportunity at hand. This isn't something that DL will have to conjure up; it's in the DNA of who Lanning is and the culture he has established. Oregon is not a place (post Willie & Mario) where you burn btridges to get somewhere else. Oregon is a place where you embrace the culture, win the day, and launch into better tomorrows together. As always, Go Ducks!
  13. All things considered, strong start
  14. In Lanning, I Trust. That is all.
  15. While we have the other thread, the other sites are effectively taking the information from this site on GoDucks.com and the players will be listed as they sign through the day. Football - Wednesday, December 3 - Signing DayWednesday, December 3: Signing Day for University of Oregon Ducks Football As of 8:30 AM, eleven of the nineteen expected to sign are done already. For those who are new at this....every year we have players sign later in the day at their high school signing ceremony, so no need to panic. And...we typically flip a player or two, and have one or two flipped from us. As usual, the majority stick to their verbal commitment...
  16. Well another target just got taken off the map. Brian Hartline is the new head coach at USF. The whole DeBoer thing just doesn't make sense to me. I know Alabama fans are absolutely insane, but DeBoer is doing about as well as anyone can , especially when following a legend. They've been spoiled, but I can tell you that no program is immune to having bad stretches. Texas, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, and even Georgia have gone through decade plus long stretches of not being title contenders. Florida is in the midst of fifteen years. DeBoer is a great coach. If Alabama doesn't lock him down, or the spoiled fans drive him out. I'll laugh so loud, I might get a noise complaint. FSU has already given me an early Christmas gift, by keeping Norvell. What other big play can they get? Take Dabo from Clemson. I think Clemson might welcome that. They aren't getting Ryan Day or Kirby Smart. Both Texas programs just signed their coaches to long term contracts. Cignetti just got a huge extension. Both the Tulane, and North Texas coaches are already hired at new places, same for James Madison. That leaves Virginia, and five loss Duke. There isn't much left.
  17. They are definitely protecting the SEC and Alabama here by moving them up one place. Notre Dame will get cut if it comes down to it and Bama probably protected. But Miami is probably out no matter what at this point... so that is kinda delightful in itself.
  18. He is supposed to sign at 12:00 ET per X.
  19. Never mind. Just saw he signed with OSU.
  20. A few things have me feeling pretty good. In the post I saw about Stein taking the Kentucky job it also said he would continue his duties with the team until the season ends. He probably has an arrangement similar to what Lanning had with Smart at Georgia, where he wasn't allowed to recruit for the team anymore but could begin to recruit for his new team. What makes things more difficult for Stein is that I don't think he is officially hired at Kentucky yet and TODAY is National Signing Day so who knows the recruiting class he even has to work with at the moment... well I guess I can look it up.... ranked 58th with 15 recruits basically all three stars on Rivals and I can't tell who has actually signed at this point anyways. The reality is that Stein is going to have to recruit who he can before the second signing period and dive into the transfer portal. The portal doesn't open until January and I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the lion's share of Ducks who transfer. His first season is going to be a bit rough but the reality is that with the NSD being so early now that new coaches are barely hired before they have to sign a recruiting class so they'll be portal heavy. The same goes for Lupoi and Cal. Though in the case of Lupoi I haven't seen anything saying that he intends on finishing the year at Oregon or not. However, Hampton has called plays on defense before and Lanning is the HC so I am a little less concerned on that front.
  21. So far, so good. Love OBD's per recruit ranking. https://247sports.com/season/2026-football/compositeteamrankings/?utm_source=247Sports&utm_medium=ExternalEmbed&utm_campaign=TeamRankings
  22. I wonder if this means Chris Henry Jr is up for grabs.
  23. CBS reports that Hartline will stay for the champ game and through the POs. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/usf-hires-brian-hartline-head-coach-ohio-state/
