Oregon is Almost a Blue Blood, but Not Quite.
I look at USC the same way I look at Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire. Was the talent there? Did they get their moment in the sun? The answer is yes, but they and everybody else knows they operated outside the rules to get there. There will always be questions whether they could have had the same success without cheating. Same questions come with mythical shared championships. Was your team really the best team? Could the Fuskies have beaten Miami? Colorado/Ga.Tech? Nebraska/Penn State? We’ll never know and there will always be room for doubt because it wasn’t settled on the field.

Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction of Oregon versus Indiana? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Let's get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. We Have Two New Rules: If two winning scores are the same? The first one who posted wins, automatically. TerryM9 gets 42-6 locked in every time as his. (I love this guy!) Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon 38-23 1 3 211 An extra prediction? Oregon will do a number of Simulated Pressures that overload Indiana's right side of their offensive line, and blows up their third down conversion rate. It will stop drives and help Our Beloved Ducks to victory!

QUAAACK! Five-star Tajh Ariza Commits to Oregon
You make an excellent point, 2002duck. There is not enough excitement in Matt Court and greater student attendance could be the “ticket” to providing it.

Get By Indiana and the Schedule is Favorable for OBD
Given the way I have seen Cig rebuild and strengthen the Hoosiers, I think Indiana will be one of the top teams in the B1G as long as he coaches there. I have no confidence in the Illinois coach BB stemming from his dismal showing in the SEC, but we'll see if he can keep the Illini meaningful and competitive. My biggest disappointment among recent B1G coaching changes is Luke Fickell--I thought the Badgers would be very competitive by now. I think that Washington could well ascend to become a meaningful opponent again, as could USC if they finally decide to can Lincoln Riley, and I regret to say that I am not at all confident about the longer term prospects for Nebraska--but could well be wrong here. .

But the Ducks were terrible for the longest time. My username gives my undergraduate degree date, but I think we've been pretty sharp lately. The school is not doing enough to make the stadium engaging. They need to make it a huge loss leader and more tickets to students. I am their target audience, and yet I don't go to every game. It's not pumped up enough. Like I said- more tickets for students and low income rowdy fans.

Oregon is Almost a Blue Blood, but Not Quite.
Is there anyone born and raised in Florida who meets the above definition? 😁 And your team plays in a swamp and has a large reptile for a mascot. 🤢 OK. I know that your team was Spurriered on to a title, and then, the Gators did not wallow in the Meyer. Beat A&M!

Oregon is Almost a Blue Blood, but Not Quite.
We are obviously a blue blood football program now. We need to get fans to focus more on basketball so we can be top tier. Football is set, 100%. If you were from the East Coast you wouldn't care at all about Portland or Seattle, let alone Eugene. This is as good as it gets for football. And when I say that I think we are rightfully the #1 or #2 team in the nation, and there is not much good reason we won't always be (good luck to us). But basketball? We need to embrace one and dones, and locals in Eugene need to stop crying about going to a corporate arena setting instead of Mac Court.

Oregon is Almost a Blue Blood, but Not Quite.
This 💯 The term “Blue Blood” really had become antiquated imo. To be "Blue-Blooded" means to have a noble, aristocratic, or royal lineage, originating from a family of high social standing. You can’t change your origin, so perhaps the entire concept of “becoming” a blue-blood is a contradiction
