  2. It’s the best decision for the young man’s career. Oregon’s RB room is stacked and 2 true freshman appear to be the most talented of the position group. I wish Makhi Hughes the best and hope he can find someplace to star.
  3. For the majority of the game the defense was in Allar’s face. After taking the 17 - 3 lead, the defense seemed content to allow short passes, but got burned on the long TD pass that gave them hope. Momentum is everything, and a personal foul helped to further stoke that fire. I hope that a lesson was learned.
  4. Although I don't agree with him being elite, I do think he's very good. Very good coaches carry an ego, heck below average coaches carry an ego(see Billy Napier). They win with a style and hire coordinators that will fit that style. Nick Saban is the greatest because of his ability to adapt and allow coordinators post McCarrron and Blake to transform the Tide in an NFL QB factory. They went from having one really elite pass catcher to about three every cycle. Receivers like Cooper, Ruggs, Smith, Waddle, etc.. came because the Tide had NFL QBs like Hurts, Tua, Young, Jones etc.. Franklin likes to run the play action two receiver sets. He likes to employ athletic tight ends that have size and speed, but can also block for his more run oriented offense. Who was the last NFL WR from his tree? KJ Hamler? His last NFL QB? The most prominent guys he's put into the NFL are guys like Parsons Geisecki and Barkley. Beau Pribula is actually more in line to the QB Franklin would prefer to use imo. But he transferred out to Missouri and the offense is trying to use Allar in some RPO actions, and yes Allar isn't a statue, but he's no Josh Allen either. He's a 6"4 230 lb pro style QB with a rocket arm, but he's primarily a one read guy. I don't think a top receiver would choose Penn State over Oregon, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Washington, USC, Miami , unless the NIL was absolutely huge. They know the history, and they know if they want to get developed that Penn State doesn't prioritize them as currently ran. Franklin is a great recruiter, and they have the financial backing to enhance that. But his history tells me he will continue to run power formation with NFL RBs, TEs, and a great run blocking line. So to answer your question in a rambling fashion like I tend to do, I'd say it's possible. I just wouldn't bet on it. I think James is comfortable and he really believes he can win it all with his system. You made great points and if was an arbitor I'd say your point is better than mine because Penn State has everything to get NFL type receivers. A huge brand, history, and they are always just a player or two away from breaking through. I just think Franklin doesn't prioritize it. As a five star WR , I would need to see a change before going there. Three questions would pop into my head. 1.) How fast can I see the field? 2.) How will I be used? 3.) Will this get me into the NFL and who's throwing to me along with making me better?
  5. Looks like we've officially lost a running back from the room. But did we really lose anything? oregonliveOregon running back Makhi Hughes asks to redshirtHughes did not travel with the Ducks to Penn State.
  6. He has started 10 games in his college career, and is recognized among the top QB’s, but I have a feeling that Dante knows that he can play better. He was humbled by his freshman experience, and I love the fact that he had the maturity to sit for a year when he transferred back to the Ducks. We are lucky to have him.
  7. And Never discount a teams desire/obsession of winning at home, especially on a nationally televised top 10 matchup. I can't even count the times that OBD made furious comebacks in the fourth quarter at home, some to still lose by three points or less, some we pull off the incredible comeback win/upset. Those teams up big on OBD didn't "suck" in the fourth quarter, just the desire to defend your home turf and persistence to that goal, brought the Ducks back. Penn State was trying, desperately, to comeback and win the biggest game of the year for them at home. That they almost did, but our team was just a lil bit better thus winning an absolute "classic" in the D. Lanning era. A "thousand cuts" for sure. 🦆🏈🪨's
  8. Oregon's defense was looking quite tired. I think it was a couple things. They were tired it was a brutal slugfest of a game. Oregon has a two score lead and complacency set in too much. The players probably subconsciously just took the foot off the gas and lost momentum. It's a rather young team still and it was a learning experience. But once OT hit they did get an adrenaline hit and pulled it together. In future games it will be interesting to see if they can close it out better. Keep in mind that the previous four games many of these players weren't even on the field for the fourth quarter.
  9. Exhaustion is probably one factor. It's the first time the starters had to play all the way through the 4th. I did see that PSU started making some adjustments on offense, on one play I saw 7 guys lined up on the OL to give Allar more time to throw.

  11. And he's a huge Longhorns fan. It couldn't be easy to put on the same uniform we wore in the 2013 Alamo bowl the last time we beat Texas.
  12. Man, I am glad this is a bye week…so much effort, guts, and emotion went into this win. It would be difficult to reset and replicate in less than a week.
  13. More likely a USC fan working in Hollywood. I personally think it’s awesome that we have one of the biggest young movie stars playing a former Oregon QB. Great publicity and shows that Oregon is relevant.
  14. Incredible video. These videos are so good for the program. It's a recruiting tool and the fans love them. Additionally... It allows Lanning to give the most pointless press conferences where he basically answers none of the interesting questions. Because as fans we know we'll get something better. We'll get a peak behind the scenes with these videos.
  15. Wow. Incredible. The white out is just a blank canvas for us to paint our master piece. - Dan Lanning
  16. “Oregon is the one team in college football that can look Ohio State in the eyes and beat them. Something they did last season already. This year's Ducks team is better and they have a better quarterback than last year's squad.”
  17. Great win, but can some of you explain why the Ducks began to play soft or off in the secondary in the 4th quarter after such success in the previous three quarters? Some things changed.
  18. 1000 cuts baby! 1000 cuts.
