  2. Those DBs held Lemon, the “best WR in FBS,” to only 34 yards receiving, 4.89 yards per catch. OBD took away USCs strength and forced other players to step up. I think they did a fantastic job. The future is bright!
  3. They did, but it didn’t count. The Heisman Association may have given Bush his trophy back, but we all know he was about 17 years too early to be receiving NIL payments. We are now seeing the results of what came from USC being found out and then being made to play by the rules that every other team has to follow.
  4. Ivy League champ Yale automatically qualified for the 2025 FCS Playoff, and Harvard was added as an at-large team. The first Ivy League football teams to participate in the postseason. 11/29/25 - Harvard at Villanova; Yale at Youngstown State. Eli! Eli! Bulldog! Rah, Rah, Rah! Most fans know of Georgia's mascot, a bulldog named 'UGA.' Fewer know that Yale's mascot is a bulldog named 'Handsome Dan.' During his career with ESPN, Lee Corso called both UGA and Dan, 'Ugly!' The University of Georgia was the first chartered state university. The charter was written in 1785 by 'the father of Georgia,' Yale graduate Abraham Baldwin. Baldwin was Yale's first president, and he was followed by another Yale graduate, Josiah Miggs, who was a student of Baldwin's at Yale. Many of Georgia's first instructors were southerners who graduated from Yale. Many of Yale's traditions followed the first two presidents and other men of Yale influential in the University's early days to Athens, Georgia, including the Bulldog mascot, which was officially adopted in 1920. WOOF!
  5. Remember when Oregon inexplicably offered him the job? Bullet dodged.
  6. He's available for the Oregon State job!
  7. A lot can happen between now and the final poll. Lets get by UW first. Then worry about how the rest shakes out.
  8. On3California fires head football coach Justin WilcoxCalifornia has fired head football coach Justin Wilcox toward the end of his ninth season in charge of the program, On3's Pete Nakos has learned. Not all that unexpected. Cal hasn't been terribly good under Wilcox and well they haven't been very good under any head coach in the last twenty years really. Cal and Stanford are both looking for new coaches now. It will be interesting to see who they go after and if they decide to try and take football more seriously. Wilcox will probably go off and be a DC somewhere again for a while and get another shot at a HC job. Cal just doesn't have the resources to be all that successful. I don't think he was the right fit for Oregon but I don't harbor any ill feelings towards him. Just another coaching vacancy to watch.
  9. Championship History SUC 1-1 OBD 0-2 UW 0-1 Not much to brag about for SUC fan. Everything thing else they flap their gums about is like pre Super Bowl Lions or Bears fans yapping about their glorious 40’s and 50’s runs.
  10. SC did win one on the field of play when they pantsed Oklahoma in the 2005 BCS champ game. Later vacated. By a group of 'judges' led by the Miami AD. 🤪
  11. Congratulations, Grandpa! (🤬🤬🤬) But I have the UW winner right here, somewhere, if only find it. 😁
  12. In retrospect of things I guess a 15 yard PI is better than a 35 yard reception. I thought the Duck secondary did as good as they could do given the circumstances.
  13. Today
  14. lol. You know you have been disrespected when your opponents linebacker scores on you with a designed play. I did admire at how good thier WRs were at pushing off the DBs.
  15. Snap counts vs sc. I realize this is a post-game article, but I thought people may have moved on from that thread and this was of interest. A recap of Oregon's snap counts from Saturday's win over USC FYI Offensive line Dave Iuli - 74 snaps / 665 season snaps Emmanuel Pregnon - 74 snaps / 627 season snaps Alex Harkey - 70 snaps / 605 season snaps Charlie Pickard - 62 snaps / 133 season snaps Fox Crader- 55 snaps / 88 season snaps Isaiah World - 19 snaps / 611 season snaps Iapani Laloulu - 12 snaps / 602 season snaps Kawika Rogers - 4 snaps / 66 season snaps Trent Ferguson - 1 snap / 46 season snaps Douglas Utu - 1 snap / 10 season snaps
  16. Both were great predictions. My congrats to Grandpa Duck and Jon. I hope we don’t have suits and counter suits. BTW, did I see a “hanging chad”
  17. Yeah, I believe we’re in against Indiana if tOSU loses and everything else goes as planned. Whole lotta rivalry games this week, could get crazy.
  18. I bet we're 6. But...lots left with this week and Conf CGs. Just win.
  19. Heading into Week 14, Massey Computer Rankings Have Ohio State, Indiana, and Oregon, 1, 2, and 3! https://masseyratings.com/cf/fbs/ratings
  20. Last and definitely least - In the Pacific time zone, Huskies don't barf 🤮, They bite. UW 48 - Even with a Skipper, UCLA is rudderless and ridiculous - 14 Neuter the Huskies!
  21. I do think Lane could recruit slightly higher caliber players at LSU or Florida than at Ole Miss and, therefore, the odds of winning a national championship should also be higher at those programs but the expectations are exponentially higher. It’ll be interesting to see what Lane decides to do.
  22. I read somewhere that Oregon would face Indiana in the B1G Conference Championship Game, under that scenario. Although it would be great to win back-to-back conference championships, many believe it would be better to rest and heal conference championship weekend before hosting a playoff home game (preferably on the other side of the bracket as Ohio State). All four teams with the extended layoff last year lost in the first round.
  23. IMHO, the Natty runs thru tOSU and IU. Would truly prefer IU than tOSU in a quarter or semifinal game. However, no Natty without beating those 2 teams. The committee will be in a tough spot on Tuesday because there foot is in their mouth. They have expounded how Oregon's schedule was not impressive. They said, get some wins against better opponents and change our perception. While the overrated SEC teams played the little sisters of the poor conference the Duck played a top 15 opponent and won. Man up you poor excuse for CF experts...... The Ducks earned the right to at least jump ole miss. Go Ducks.......
  24. OBD is also No. 5 in the AP Poll. OBD lost to No. 2 Indiana. Texas Tech lost to ASU. OBD has a better SOS than Texas Tech. Why does the PO committee have TT ranked ahead of OBD? No metric other than perhaps 'Money Spent on Roster' sees the Red Raiders above OBD. 26. OBD's, since the loss to IU have done a very good job of matching or exceeding our opponents physicality. I felt that the Trojans didnt have much fight left in them after they scored their last touchdown. OBD's pounded the rock and moved downfield to score again to extend the lead back to 14. It must have been discouraging to the defense and the entire nation of Troy that the Ducks had their 3rd, 4th and 5th players just plug and play. Next man up destroyed USC. Hats off to all these players for stepping up to win this game. And to DL and staff for coaching them up to meet the challenge! The ancient grey beards on this Forum know first hand how an injury to just 1 starter could derail a game or season. Well done OBD's. let's get after the dreaded pack up north. GO Ducks! And welcome DuckDuckTruth.
  27. JabbaNoBargain, Just out of curiosity, if the Ducks win in Seattle (the Huskies are primed for our game), and if Michigan were to defeat TOSU (as that team to the North did to that team from the South last year), would TOSU or OBD move in to face Indiana in the B1G championship game? I would like to beat Indiana but winning and/or losing both have pluses and minuses. I enjoyed beating PSU last year in the championship game but would prefer to have nothing to do with that game. A team earns a better record if they win, but coaches are closing out recruiting, the players are prepping for the first playoff game and taking finals. If and when a team gets past the conference championship, just win to keep playing. VR, KCDuck1
