  1. If the Ducks don’t win tonight? We will cuss, and growl, some will say things on OBD that some with quit watching or jump off the bandwagon. Some will call for the coaches’ heads, others will simply suck it up and hope they keep getting better. The Ducks will probable drop 10 or 12 spots in the polls. They will no longer be a one loss team, and will be out of the playoff discussion. As for the Ducks and their coaches, they will get to work preparing for Utah. Life will go on. I think…
  2. Oregon has some intangibles coaches don’t often have to back them up. Successful FB, MBB, WBB, BB, SB, golf, Track & Field, volleyball, gymnastics. The Athletic Department that supports all these sports and these students. Autzen, Heyward Field, MK Arena, Jane Sanders Stadium, to the proposed covered practice fields, the list just just keeps going! I would think those kind of intangibles make it more palatable to accepting less $$ in the paycheck.
  3. Excellent topic and insightful comments. Many of my thoughts were taken and many of my points were made. Collectively, you guys are awesome! Go Ducks! We have a team worthy of greatness at a University capable of helping those young men be the best they can be. They are led by a man with the right attitude, the right work ethics, and a belief he can help lead them to greatness. The 2021 version of the Ducks are not quite like any Duck team I’v seen in a while. The games are exiting, scary, exhilarating, and terrifying at the same time. Last week was the first week I felt like we were in good shape. We were down 3-9 at that point. Most weeks I am tied up in knots be the end. But the reality of it is, we have a bunch of 3, 4, and 5 star athletes in an environment like Oregon offers with a attitude like MC is building, I think good things have begun, and will continue to happen for the foreseeable future. What a time to be a Duck fan!
  4. Oregon 34-20, 2, 3, and 85. With about 300 yards rushing. KT goes on a tear! Go Ducks!
  5. So true! The Ducks need to come out and dominate the LOS on both sides of the ball from the 1st quarter though the 4th.
  6. Thanks David, for the reminder of how bad the dawgs from the “City of the Eternal Traffic Jam” actually SUCK! It was a good and enlightening read, and while it does little to dampen my disgust of hooker gold and prostitute purple clad egotists who wouldn’t know a screen pass from a swing pass, it did warm my heart to see in print how much the HUSKIES SUCK! Rivalry or not, there is only one PAC 12 team I like to see lose every week, and they play at the mistake on the lake.
  7. Brown is the only Pac-12 quarterback to be selected as a semifinalist, and one of nine seniors. He joins Justin Herbert, Marcus Mariota, Dennis Dixon, Joey Harrington, and Bill Musgrave as Oregon QBs to be named semifinalists for the award. Mariota became the first Duck to win the honor in 2014.
  8. And at 7:30 the Women of Oregon take on Idaho State. As far as pure entertainment value, probably the best of the Tripleheader!
  9. And Bobby comes in at #2
  10. The Gaylord in Grapevine Texas, home of the $250 Kobe wagyu strip steak, $10-$30 potato, $14 mushroom and$15 veggie! At the super price of $629 per night plus tax. I can think of more affordable spots to fly in to once a week as well!
  11. HeywardDuck, I like the way you think! Brown would certainly do good for all of us if he could pull that off!
  12. https://goducks.com/news/2021/11/3/football-brown-named-top-10-finalist-for-golden-arm-award.aspx A top 10 arm?
  13. I too despise night games, especially when they are on ESPN! And after WAZZOO has a bye…
  14. Like most I would prefer BOTH! A high scoring offense is more fun to watch. One that is close to 50% run and 50% pass, that keeps you guessing, but preferably at least 75% efficiency on 3rd down. However, a dominating defense is more satisfying to watch, particularly when they continually pressure the opposing QB, get multiple sacks and picks, and at least one score per game! With that as the criteria, I would rather see a suffocating Defense, with a D line that instills fear in opposing offenses and coaches, and a secondary that gets more picks and breakups per game than they allow receptions.
  15. There as a lot of second guessing the coaching decisions in a game that we won. It would be one thing if ANY of us could do it better, but we can’t (If we could, we’d be pulling in six figures to do it). My least favorite thing about football has always been the Monday morning quarterbacks, and it seems a lot of them come here to pontificate how they’d have done things differently. Since we are pontificating, let’s look at the play. If AB he’d thrown it to the corner where the receiver was heading, it was a score. But no, he throws it behind the receiver and into the arms of the defender. If he had cut behind the blocker and run, it was second or third and short, if not a first down. It was a good call, with poor choices and execution by a fair to middling player on a team full of playmakers.
  16. Oregon 48-0 3 T O 5 sacks 320 yards passing. Ty gets to play in the 2nd half and lights it up in the air! Go Ducks!
  17. I think I am probably as big a Duck homer as anyone, and I love to cheer and yell for good play as much as anyone. I will also boo the refs at the drop of a hat. If I am treated to 4 Ps (plunge, plunge, pass, punt) 3 times in a row, you bet your @$$ I’m gonna boo. Coming to these games is not a cheap investment, even when you get the cheap seats. I pay for the right to cheer when I am pleased, and to boo when I am displeased. I firmly believe the ONLY way a fan has to show displeasure is the boo. I support Mario in most things, and think he is doing great things for our Ducks, but if you don’t like the boo’s, then coach the team to play up to the levels we know you can.
  18. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/LongFormArticle/Lee-Corso-Oregon-Football-ESPN-College-Gameday-Auburn-173566139/ 15W, 11L on Gameday! 3-0 vs UCLA.
  19. 11-2, 34 ppg scored 22 ppg allowed A heathy Defense takes over from here on out. We win the turnover margin by an average of +2 per game, and defensive scores in at least 4 of the remaining games. Go Ducks!
  20. I don’t know about the rest of you, but if my boss told people I was doing a “solid” job, I’d be looking to get better or get replaced! Solid is not exactly a ringing endorsement…
  21. In truth, I don’t think many of us thought the 2021 Ducks were going to be a great team in the pre-season. (I know, I was the homer who said “15-0 baby,” knowing it was a pipe dream, but wanting to believe). After the tOSU game, a lot of us thought they could be very good, but I seem to remember most of us thinking great was still a year or two out. My hope now is that the team that played down to their opponents level in the first half of the season will start to play UP to their opponents level the rest of the way. Do that and I think we will remain good to very good, with greatness a year or two away.
