This whole Prime/Lanning "rivalry" is just manufactured click-bait. -

Oregon QB Recruiting Strategy: ALWAYS Go Portal?
jrw replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Charles, your strategy assumes that there will be, year after year, a top-notch QB in the portal. There aren't many excellent quarterbacks to begin with, and far fewer enter the portal every year. Coach 'em up? Maybe, but I don't think it's a viable plan on a regular basis. -

What has Mr. Riley done/not done to have this many top players bail? Demonstrated an inability to win games, treated players poorly, broken promises, melted down...what? This is crazy, and as others have pointed, not something one sees with this level of player and this level of program. It's like when top executives leave a company en masse; something is very wrong at the top.

I know I suffer from PTDS, Post-Traumatic Ducks Syndrome. The close-but seasons took a toll on me and have left me always a bit skeptical of climbing all the way to the top, this season included. It's gonna be tough.

Belichik Set to be the New Coach at UNC and He'll Take His Son with Him!
jrw replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think you have it exactly right; college football coaching is getting to be a young man's game. The amount of energy it takes, the need to relate to 17-year-olds, all the other business with staff, boosters...it doesn't seem a good fit for what is objectively a grumpy old man. Plus, the game on the field itself has changed in the past decades. Even his son looks old and grumpy, to boot. -

Looks like the truth is the Ducks scared the vomit out of the Nittany Lions. Saw this when it happened live, but forgot about it.

Best in the nation at the game's most critical position, on the country's best team should be enough to win it, right? One would think.

Whether he believes it nor not, it's a great thing to say when you're leading a team. It means there's no opening for anyone in the program to feel sorry for themselves, or think about "what-ifs", or be apprehensive. When the boss says this, you gotta believe it. Just win the next game. That said, everyone knows Ducks got screwed.

Oregon Football: The Ducks’ Biggest Threat Remaining
jrw replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Seriously, the biggest threat is the next opponent, whoever it may be. They're all good, anything can happen, no one can be overlooked. -
Sorry, all…did not realize that. And, thanks to Utki for the copy and paste.
