As one who was once called to the principal's office for throwing shade at fellow commenters, I have to hand it to Principal Fischer for creating a unique environment. It's an environment that takes a lot of work to maintain, and a strong character from the leader. Like in almost everything (such as football), good leadership is critical, and we have it here. Well, Delta State is now apparently out of the playoffs, so could be.

Jon, you may be off on some of the details, but I think your big picture is correct. As in all areas of business (and college football is most certainly a business) we see nothing but consolidation; the big get bigger and the rest fall by the wayside. I don't see any forces in college football to prevent the consolidation into a Super League. But remember what happened to the "real" Super League. It lasted less than 72 hours when the fans revolted.
