  1. Who knows if this matters? I guess we'll find out, once the inevitable everything-Lanning-is-great honeymoon period is over. Right now, I think the enthusiasm for Lanning and (especially) his hires is a bit higher than warranted.
  2. Don't forget the current 0-5 SEC bowl record.
  3. Do Husky fans pay as much attention to their team as they do to the Ducks?
  4. Charles, I would err on the side of civility, decorum, and politeness in any decisions you make. Those things are what separate OBD from pretty much every other comment section on the interwebs. Doing so still leaves plenty of room for honesty and criticism. It's usually not what people say, but how they say it that causes problems. If people want to act like jerks, there are plenty of places that will welcome them. Don't let them be that guy here.
  5. I love Husky schadenfreude as much as the next person, but players jumping into the portal is happening everywhere, even in Eugene. Not good to get too smug.
  6. Canzano is still flogging the former-player letter that he leaked, without context or elaboration. Get over it, John.
  7. If anything on Reddit can be trusted, Mehringer may have some baggage.
  8. What USC, UCLA, Oregon and the rest of the PAC12 face going forward is not just little things like the legacy of Larry Scott and bad scheduling. It's a cultural issue. College football in the West is just not as big a thing as it is in the Midwest and South. That shows itself in the game-day crowds, how many kids play high-school ball, what college presidents prioritize, and on and on and on. It's a deep-rooted difference between parts of the country that isn't going to be changed by - probably - anything. Oregon has a chance because it has created a unique brand that, with work, can still attract players, coaches and fans. Mario did his best to kill it, but didn't succeed. Lanning has a chance, but it will depend on the Oregon brand continuing to be distinctive and successful.
  9. Did any Ducks enter the portal at halftime?
  10. Good catch...I haven't seen him and he's usually pretty visible.
  11. Dear Dan Lanning...please don't eat before watching this game tape.
  12. They're out-manned, under-manned, and exhausted because the offense is awful. I don't know that they've given up.
  13. Franklin being roasted on national TV.
  14. See the holding on that complete pass?
  15. There’s no Mario anymore to get mad at you, JoMo. Put in another QB. Why not? I ‘d rather lose in a new way, than in the same old exasperating way.
  16. When it starts bad for AB…it doesn’t get better.
  17. A new kicker, #94, Hutchinson? He put that kick after the FG out of the end zone. Where has he been all season?
  18. It's going to be a sloppy, crazy, big-play, missed-tackles, mess of a game. It may be decided by which team mentally calls it quits first. Maybe the players will remember that Lanning will carefully watch the tape. But, Ducks have too many missing players on both sides of the ball. Oklahoma 42-24, 2, 0, 275
  19. I'd like to see someone, like Jim Radcliffe, who has practical experience as well as an academic background in things like biomechanics. There's a lot more to strength and conditioning than yelling at players to do one more rep.
  20. How about Michigan wins 7-0 on a pick-6? That way we can both feel great about Lanning and get an SEC loss.
  21. Time to make sure the compliance department is fully staffed.
  22. This kid is amazing; he appears to be someone who gets the most out of everything he does in life. He's a joy to watch play, and I suspect he will be successful at whatever he does when his playing days are over.
  23. A perfect illustration of the Peter Principle.
