Oregon Offense: Will Stein Backs Up His Vow
Excellent article like always! Appreciate you Charles. So I was thinking about the playbook and how its been said that we will finally "open it up" and have full access to all the plays. I have been thinking about this and mostly have agreed, but then I remembered our coaching staff and how this is chess not checkers. This is looking like the 1st of potentially 3 games against tOSU. Do the coaches make a cognitive decision to not show all their cards in this game knowing the next game against tOSU (and the potential one after that) will be the more important games? Something to consider as we watch this heavy weight fight.

New CFB Playoff REMOVES the Pressure Off This Game?
The Ducks are actually the dogs in the one. tOSU is favored by 3.5 right now. So with the standard 3 points for home field advantage Vegas is thinking tOSU is better by 6.5 points.

ESPN Computer Picks Ohio State to Beat Oregon
So this is something that I am a little worried about but hopefully I am overthinking it. tOSU fans travel great. Not sure how many Oregon season ticket holders are looking at what the tickets were selling for and decided to sell this one game and pay for almost the rest of the season. I hope this isn't the case and it is 85% Oregon fans... We shall see.

Its Finally Here! The Hype is Real. But This Game Won't Define the Season
The week we all have been waiting for is finally here! This more than likely is the most hyped game that Autzen has ever hosted. I have been thinking about a few things and just wanted to put some ink to paper and see if you all agree or not. - A close game wont change either teams season - win or lose - Of course we all want a Ducks win, but repeat after me, the season is not over if we lose. So keep your cool and don’t lose your mind if the outcome is not favorable. This might be one of three games that OBD face off with tOSU - With that first point being made, we are going to see some interesting strategies from both coaches. Since both teams can afford a loss I believe they are going to throw some haymakers. We will see some big risks and creative play calling. Finally the full playbook will be open up! - Key matchups - Their stud WRs vs our untested secondary - If you haven’t had a chance to see Jeremiah Smith play then you are missing out. He is truly a generational talent. Chip Kelly has said at 18 years old he would be the starting receiver on any NFL team today. The big question is has he faced a player like Jabbar Muhammad yet? Smith does have about 5-6” on Muhammad so that is something to be aware of.. - I expect tOSU to throw mostly at whoever Niko Reed/Dontae Manning is matched up against - Our stud DL vs their untested OL - If our DL can continue to pressure the QB like they have over the last couple of games, it could disrupt the passing game and slow down their running game. This in my eyes is where the game will be won or lost. What are your thoughts leading up to the game? Its going to be a long week with anticipation!

Canzano: Informative and Makes Me Want to Hurl...
I don’t see a link to the actual article but your quote sounds like he is talking about the demise of the PAC with everyone leaving and not the current two teams.

Are Oregon Transfers Forever Ducks?
During the UCLA game I was sitting close to the family and friends section of the UCLA players. Early in the 2nd quarter (before the interception or hit) a lady walked by wearing a Bryan Addison UCLA jersey and I said "nice jersey, go Ducks!" and she immediately replied "Once a Duck, always a Duck!". So to answer your question in the departing players eyes.. yes they will always be a Duck. And I have to agree with them.

Lanning Discusses Ferguson Hit
Boise State he had 5 receptions for 112 yards and a TD. I heard an interesting stat comparing Stewarts first 4 games to Tez's first 4 games last season. And there wasn't a massive difference. Stewart's first 4 games 2024 = 14 receptions, 162 yards, and 1 TD Tez's first 4 games 2023 = 15 receptions, 203 yards, and 3 TD (and this was with his "brother" as a QB where he already had the rapport built) I believe this is two things. 1. He is still learning the playbook and getting familiar with DG 2. I really think we are only using the vanilla playbook up until tOSU game. It has been a whole lot of dink and dunks for this whole season. IMHO Stewart isn't really built for dink and dunks. When the full playbook is opened up I expect some big games from Stewart. But then again there is only one ball to go around!

Oregon Still Undefeated, So Why Are Some Ducks Fans Unhappy?
Tried to post a video of the environment in the stadium half way through the 4th quarter but wouldn't load properly so just took some screenshots. Look how empty this is. Does this make you want to run through a wall and give it your all or just get it over with and go home?

Oregon Still Undefeated, So Why Are Some Ducks Fans Unhappy?
I have to disagree with most on this here. I am not worried at all. I believe the coaching staff did exactly what they needed to do. There was zero doubt Oregon was going to win this game after the first half. The coaches made a very cognitive decision to take their foot off the gas and get out of there with as little effort and injuries as possible. Its a short week with MSU on Friday and they did not want to waste any extra energy or show any more of their playbook. All they wanted to do is have the clock run and get home as soon as possible. Another aspect I have not seen talked about for the UCLA game is the environment in the stadium. I was there, and sure the first half of the game had about 60% occupancy, but the 2nd half? No joke by the end it was probably 15% full. How do you internally push yourself to perform at the highest level when the game is already in the bag and the stadium is dead quiet? Do you show your playbook and risk injury just so your fans are happy that you win by 30 instead of 20? No you do not. A win is a win. You take your foot off the gas and run the ball to keep the clock moving and get home as soon as possible.

So, the Backup QB is...Austin Novosad?
Also - since it was truly garbage time with no meaningful snaps they may be trying to save a possible redshirt year for Dante. This still gives 3 more games he could play in if needed.

Fake Injuries: Who Needs Time-Outs Anymore?
Takes me back to the Chip Kelly days. That was the only way to stop the offense.

Are You Feeling Snookered by the B1G Yet?
I am right there with you. I am only an hour away from the Rosebowl and have had this circled on my calendar for a long time excited to see the ducks in action. But looking at it now do I even bother? If I stay for the whole game I wouldnt be home by 1am (at the earliest). I have two young kids as well so I would be woken up at 6am after a long night out. And on top of that the environment is going to be a snooze fest especially if the Ducks are up big. Really going back and forth if the effort is even worth it or should I just stay home and watch on tv...

NIL - The New Reality
That's the issue, the NIL Collective did not follow through with their promises. Not the players fault. He is just standing up for himself and I dont blame him.
-
NIL - The New Reality
Similar to what happened with Jaden Rashada and UF, but this is definitely a first as it was a starting QB in the middle of his season. We obviously don't know the actual details of what the representations the NIL collective promised this kid and what they actually followed through with. The big question moving forward for this specific player... what program will want him as he flat out quit on his team mid season. What's to say he wont do it again with the next school when he has a great game and then demands more NIL money? I am a huge believe these college players should get paid as much as they possibly can as nothing is guaranteed down the road. But this just proves we are still in the Wild Wild West of the NIL world.

Crap. Bedford Hurt AGAIN in Practice...
Keep him off the field as long as possible to get him fully healthy. Its a long season and no reason to rush him back since last weeks OL proved they are more than capable of getting the job done. Having him fully healthy late in the season is much more important than trying to rush him back for tOSU game.
