Who's Makin Bank, NIL $$$
So nothing has to be disclosed at this time so these are all estimates. And if the House settlement is approved it is just the schools NIL deals that will have to fall into the "salary cap". They will still be able generate as much as they would like from third parties like it is now.

Watch Oregon Football Head Coach Dan Lanning and Players 2024 Media Day Press Conference
So I spent the majority of my workday yesterday watching these media day interviews from the players. Here is what stood out to me with a lot of new faces. * Jay Harris – he is going to be an absolute beast. His size and speed is going to surprise people and he is here to run some people over * Atticus Sappington – very impressive mindset. Ice in his veins attitude. Fingers crossed the kicking issues for OBD are behind us * Jamaree Caldwell – Big body who put some work this offseason. Liking his presence to this D line * Brandon Johnson – He is going to be a high IQ player right off the bat and will be a huge addition for our D. An upgrade from Evan Williams * Tez Johnson – he put in some work this offseason and looking to continue the amazing year he had last year. * The entire offense line are a bunch of good dudes * Jestin Jacobs – monster year incoming now that he is healthy * Evan Stewart – liked his demeanor. Cant wait to see what he is able to do in the offense * Dillon Gabriel – just a genuine real dude. His leadership is going to be instant * Jordan Burch – what a MASSIVE dude. Absolute animal * Jabbar Muhammad – love his personality. Looking forward to seeing him lockdown * Noah Whittington – this was the first time I heard his injury was a torn ACL. Recovery was fast and he is ready to get back to it * Derrick Harmon – another animal. Absolute dog and ready to dominate the line

Twelve Ducks That Could Become Household Names This Year
Very similar to Michigan last year. The depth is crucial in todays CFB world especially with 17+games on the year. Those early season blowouts are now even more important to get as many reps as possible for 2nd and 3rd stringers. Next man up mentality only works when the next man up is as talented as the 1st stringer. Coach Lanning knows that and has built this roster to be ready for whatever is thrown at them!

'Admit It, Oregon is BUYING Recruits'
Who cares if it is true though? We are paying these kids and we are paying them big time. Obviously Uncle Phil is wanting a championship while he is alive. I am sure we aren't backing up the Brinks truck for every single recruit, but for the kids that DL wants then why not be the highest bidder and get them to move across the Country to Eugene? Oregon IS buying recruits... But that is what is needed to be successful in todays college football world. People forget that the coaching staff still needs to "de-recruit" these kids once they are on campus. As Texas A&M taught us when NIL first was rolled out, that is one of the harder part with these 5 star recruits. But the Oregon staff seems to be doing a great job with it so far. Pay for the talent to come to us and then teach them the Oregon way. Not everyone will make it, but those that do will be first day draft picks.

Fox Announces 2024 Friday Night CFB Broadcasts
Not a huge fan of a short week for the players, but I am happy for the extra day of rest/preparation before the Ohio State game. And Friday night on Fox will get quite a few eyeballs so that cant hurt our brand either.

Jaden Rashada Suing University of Florida Coach, Booster and an Administrator Over Failed NIL Deal
Why would he? In my eyes he has not done anything wrong. If this happened to any of us you would more than likely do the same thing. If someone promises you something and produces a contract, and then completely changes the terms would you want to continue doing business with them? He is a very talented 19 year old who is looking out for his best interests. Now lets see if he can actually do something on the field and earn those Benjamins.

Season Tickets for Oregon Football Selling at Record Rate
Unfortunately I am thinking there a lot of ticket resellers trying to make a quick buck. B1G fans travel very well so I will not be shocked to see a whole lot of Buckeye fans in Autzen come October 12th. Even for loyal Duck fans it will be tempting to sell your tickets for that game which will almost pay for your entire season ticket price.

Update: Jan. 22 News on Lock-Down Corner Transfer Jabbar Muhammad
Writing was on the wall with his son transferring out a couple weeks ago. You know DL will be filling his seat with another amazing coach. Unfortunately part of being a top tier program is having our coaches poached.

Transfer Portal Impact on QBs Recruited Out of High School?
TT needs to leave to actually give himself a shot. Poor kid is going to be recruited over again without being able to fully show his talent with the starters. He has been very loyal to the Ducks, but its time for him to spread his wings and find a new home.

Transfer Portal Impact on QBs Recruited Out of High School?
"If you are good enough, you are old enough" - DL This is a big debate and will be interesting to see how it all plays out over the next couple of years. My thought is loyalty from a kid should not be rewarded with the next starting QB job. Sure we want to develop young talent and find that next Marcus or Justin, but if they aren't good enough to beat out a transfer then they are not ready to be the starting QB at Oregon. Someone posted here the other day something that was very interesting. They were saying these 4/5 star QBs should be going to these middle of the pack teams out of HS and starting for two years. They will then get real game experience and development and then transfer to one of the Blue Bloods when they are ready to step in. It will almost turn into a minor league development of some sorts. I for one want the best talented player being the leader of the offense for Oregon. If that is a one and done then so be it. The old days of just developing within your program is over if you want to compete for a championship year after year. In Dan Lanning We Trust!

Playoff Scenario What If's
Major props to the committee for putting the 4 best teams in. Michigan Washington Texas Alabama I can’t imagine the anger taking place in Tallahassee right now.
-
Playoff Scenario What If's
Very fair point! At least with what happened it was our own fault based on how we played and not left to the hands of some randoms sitting in Dallas deciding who goes.

Playoff Scenario What If's
This is crazy to say… but losing on Friday is better in my opinion than winning and being left out of the CFP by the committee. We will never know what they would have done but that would have ripped our hearts out.
