Are Oregon Transfers Forever Ducks?
QuackyQuack replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
During the UCLA game I was sitting close to the family and friends section of the UCLA players. Early in the 2nd quarter (before the interception or hit) a lady walked by wearing a Bryan Addison UCLA jersey and I said "nice jersey, go Ducks!" and she immediately replied "Once a Duck, always a Duck!". So to answer your question in the departing players eyes.. yes they will always be a Duck. And I have to agree with them. -
Boise State he had 5 receptions for 112 yards and a TD. I heard an interesting stat comparing Stewarts first 4 games to Tez's first 4 games last season. And there wasn't a massive difference. Stewart's first 4 games 2024 = 14 receptions, 162 yards, and 1 TD Tez's first 4 games 2023 = 15 receptions, 203 yards, and 3 TD (and this was with his "brother" as a QB where he already had the rapport built) I believe this is two things. 1. He is still learning the playbook and getting familiar with DG 2. I really think we are only using the vanilla playbook up until tOSU game. It has been a whole lot of dink and dunks for this whole season. IMHO Stewart isn't really built for dink and dunks. When the full playbook is opened up I expect some big games from Stewart. But then again there is only one ball to go around!

I have to disagree with most on this here. I am not worried at all. I believe the coaching staff did exactly what they needed to do. There was zero doubt Oregon was going to win this game after the first half. The coaches made a very cognitive decision to take their foot off the gas and get out of there with as little effort and injuries as possible. Its a short week with MSU on Friday and they did not want to waste any extra energy or show any more of their playbook. All they wanted to do is have the clock run and get home as soon as possible. Another aspect I have not seen talked about for the UCLA game is the environment in the stadium. I was there, and sure the first half of the game had about 60% occupancy, but the 2nd half? No joke by the end it was probably 15% full. How do you internally push yourself to perform at the highest level when the game is already in the bag and the stadium is dead quiet? Do you show your playbook and risk injury just so your fans are happy that you win by 30 instead of 20? No you do not. A win is a win. You take your foot off the gas and run the ball to keep the clock moving and get home as soon as possible.

So, the Backup QB is...Austin Novosad?
QuackyQuack replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Also - since it was truly garbage time with no meaningful snaps they may be trying to save a possible redshirt year for Dante. This still gives 3 more games he could play in if needed. -
Fake Injuries: Who Needs Time-Outs Anymore?

Takes me back to the Chip Kelly days. That was the only way to stop the offense. -

The last game I attended at the Rose Bowl of UofO vs UCLA was in 2007 the ducks lost 16-0... Going tomorrow night and looking forward to seeing a very different outcome. Ducks win 49-10 3 - TO 6 sacks 318 passing yards -
Are You Feeling Snookered by the B1G Yet?
QuackyQuack replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I am right there with you. I am only an hour away from the Rosebowl and have had this circled on my calendar for a long time excited to see the ducks in action. But looking at it now do I even bother? If I stay for the whole game I wouldnt be home by 1am (at the earliest). I have two young kids as well so I would be woken up at 6am after a long night out. And on top of that the environment is going to be a snooze fest especially if the Ducks are up big. Really going back and forth if the effort is even worth it or should I just stay home and watch on tv... -
That's the issue, the NIL Collective did not follow through with their promises. Not the players fault. He is just standing up for himself and I dont blame him.

Similar to what happened with Jaden Rashada and UF, but this is definitely a first as it was a starting QB in the middle of his season. We obviously don't know the actual details of what the representations the NIL collective promised this kid and what they actually followed through with. The big question moving forward for this specific player... what program will want him as he flat out quit on his team mid season. What's to say he wont do it again with the next school when he has a great game and then demands more NIL money? I am a huge believe these college players should get paid as much as they possibly can as nothing is guaranteed down the road. But this just proves we are still in the Wild Wild West of the NIL world.

Crap. Bedford Hurt AGAIN in Practice...
QuackyQuack replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Keep him off the field as long as possible to get him fully healthy. Its a long season and no reason to rush him back since last weeks OL proved they are more than capable of getting the job done. Having him fully healthy late in the season is much more important than trying to rush him back for tOSU game. -

What is Your All Time Favorite Ducks Game?
QuackyQuack replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great topic and put a big smile on my face reading all of the comments. This made me realize how lucky I have been over the years to attend so many of the games mentioned: - 1999 3OT game against USC. I was 10 at the time and my family left the game a little early as it was looking like the game was over. The Ducks made an epic comeback and we watched the rest of the game in the parking lot with some RV tailgaters while still hearing Autzen roar in the background. I will never let my dad live that down. - 2002 Fiesta Bowl. After Oregon was ranked #2 in AP and Coaches poll. The dumb BCS computer put us #4 (although we probably dodged a bullet by not having to play that Miami team). Oregon came out and dominated the Buffs and showed the Country we belonged with the big boys. - 2012 @ USC - was in college in Southern California and went to this game with my college GFs dad who was a USC fan. Kenjon ran for 5 TDs and Oregon dominated. Loved every second of the silent drive back home. 2020 Rosebowl - tailgated this game with my wife and 6 of our friends who were not Oregon fans but they all showed up decked out in Duck gear as they knew how much I loved our ducks. Herby did his thing and was an amazing night. We always looked back at this game as the last big thing we did before COVID hit. -
On Saturday: What Do YOU Want to See From Oregon?
QuackyQuack replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I just hope that both team have fun.... lol jk.... I hope both lines absolutely manhandle the rodents and OBD puts behind all of the talks about how we are underperforming and we truly show the potential of this team. We wont correct everything in just one game, but this game will be the start of something special where we look back at the end of the year and say the Civil War was where we corrected the ship. -
Always love to hear from Rich Brooks.
