QUAAACK! Ole Miss Safety Transfers to Oregon!
I'm viewing him as a good depth piece but leery of his size, 5'10" type DBs are where we got burned at times last season. I'd argue that he should rotate with Daylen Austin at nickel and see where the chips fall by mid-season regarding who starts full time going forward.

Ohio State Closing In On New DC
That should be interesting to watch. Can an NFL position coach be a good DC at the college level with little coordinator experience? Possibly but I'm guessing there will be some growing pains.

Oregon WR Coach Adams to the Dallas Cowboys
Honestly when I think about it, moving Samples to WR coach/Co-OC is probably one of (if not the) reasons he stayed in Eugene. DL and the brass would have been fully aware that both he and Junior Adams were interviewing with the Cowboys and this is how it played out.

Oregon WR Coach Adams to the Dallas Cowboys
This one hurts. Not only is he an elite recruiter but an excellent developer of players. I thought he would be next up for OC if Will Stein left.

Is Stein Oregon's Best Option at OC?
Hartline just made the most sense. Osu2 was going to be hard pressed to find an OC of Chip's caliber and if Hartline wasn't promoted he would probably be looking elsewhere (Day doesn't need to lose yet another coach right now). He's been there for 7(?) years now so he's put in his time, the players and recruits know him well, and he's probably ready for the next level. That being said, even in the best scenarios replacing a coordinator is significantly disruptive. DL was really fortunate to snag Will Stein as he is very similar to Dillingham (young, dynamic, creative, similar offensive philosophy). But Day is going from one of the most experienced and successful offensive coaches in Chip to a newbie who has never called plays before. I think Osu2's offense takes a step back next season (and perhaps the season after) as Hartline learns on the job and makes mistakes like every newly promoted young person does. There's a window of opportunity there for OBD and Penn St to overtake the Buckeyes during that span.

Oregon Ducks RB Coach Ra'Shaad Samples to Turn Down Dallas Cowboys Job
Assuming the Dallas gig is $450k, I think his current contract buy out is more than that so he’d be losing money the entire first year if he left.

Chip Kelly Set to be Las Vegas Raiders OC

Oregon Ducks RB Coach Ra'Shaad Samples to Turn Down Dallas Cowboys Job
Feels like he'd have a better shot at being an NFL coach if he were a successful college coach first.

Chip Kelly Set to be Las Vegas Raiders OC
Well that didn't last long. Osu2 is going to have some problems next season.

Does Oregon’s Defense Need to Change for 2025?
This. The common thread between the last two national championship teams is that they were chock full of experienced veterans with 3-5 years of experience in those programs. I think the uneven performance of the offense and defense is at least partly explained by this as DL has had to utilize the portal extensively his first 3 years to assemble squads that can perform well under the circumstances. But while an experienced player from outside the program can perform well for 1 year, generally speaking another player who's been in the program for 4 years will understand their role and responsibilities far better (and can adjust on the fly more easily due to their deep knowledge of the schemes). Next season we'll start seeing some guys from his 1st recruiting class start to show what they're able to do and it will be the initial reflection of how well DL and the rest of the staff is at developing talent in house.
