It's not Mullens fault. These games are scheduled years in advance. At least we're playing BYU at home. It's the damn league schedule. That is controlled by the commish and his committee was supposed to fix it for 2022. That's what he said when he was hired anyway.

Analysis: Is Dan Lanning an Upgrade from Mario Cristobal?
Duck 1972 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Remember we had Covid mess everything up in 2020. Then massive injuries, poor QB play and defection was ample evidence that we didn't get to see what our team could have done on offense Also there were times they didn't seem ready but that was mostly on the road ( except tOSU). Also penalties. Youth will cause this as much as coaching. We did have the youngest team in the country. My main point is there were many reasons for why this year turned out the way it did. IMHO. -
Here we go again 9 league games. What a bunch of s**t

Lane Kiffin on Having a Small Early Signing Day Class
Duck 1972 replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Sounds like sound reasoning to me unless you can sign high 4/5* out of high school. -
I've noticed a lot of anger towards MC. I believe we need to give MC credit where credit is deserved. He is who he is. Because of Chip everyone wanted a up paced offense. But that's not him. He was still a good coach in my eyes. 4 winning seasons, 3 PAC North division titles, 2 championship ( playing for a 3rd), 2 NY6 Bowls. And most importantly 3 straight recruiting titles I know we all wanted more but that's still pretty impressive. Did he do everything right? No but he's still a good person and deserves respect as such. IMHO.

CFP Exposure: Oregon will get a Close-up
Duck 1972 replied to Log Haulin's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
You can bet he is pulling full time for the DUCKS outside of the time he spends doing a noble thing. This is also showing how people can still work for the benefit of others instead of being selfish babies. Great show Oregon administration for showing class In allowing Coach Lanning to fulfill his promise to his team. Well done indeed. Again Oregon leads by example. Let's always Fly High DUCKS. -

I agree last year I felt focused more on offense. This year's goal was defensive. -

Leaders vs. Managers: Purpose, Principles, and Practices....
Duck 1972 replied to Marshall Lucky's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great take. Did you feel our new coach embraces them? -
What's the goal everyone of us had when we started in our profession of choice? Wasn't it to be the best we could be and get to the top or as high as we could go? What's the top of coaching? I believe it's the pros. I won't fault anyone that pursues that option. I don't agree that someone should stay where they are at unless the move is lateral. Thus every job is a stepping stone in a sense. To expect a person to stay when they believe they have an opportunity to challenge themselves with a promotion makes no sense. To expect a coach to do anything that the rest of us would not do is unreasonable. Therefore just take what's occurring and enjoy the ride.
-
Also remember that recruiting is more about the relationship to the coach/s that did it, not necessarily the school.
-
What I don't understand is why u would interview for a job and then not take it when it's offered. That makes no sense to me. Something else is going on here and I have no idea what it is.

Hardly any of the big boys play any games away from their footprint. They know better than to come out west and deal with the time difference which has shown, even in the pros, to be a disadvantage. I know a lot of us have been pleading for a 8 game league schedule. Don't know why it hasn't already happened? I just read an article about our commish pushing for a ooc schedule that is only done 1yr in advance. Nothing about the league schedule which I believe is the most important thing to do.

Wonder if current coaches Salavaa Dean and McClendon stay that would be great.

Was hoping he'd stay for some continuity. Means 3rd new OC and DC in last 3 years. Ouch. -

Is mentioning the other sites like I have done taboo also. Plus I saw the same post that latency linked was on Google Ducks FB for free. Does that make a difference. I'm not disagreeing with our rules just looking for clarification thanx Charles. -
