The guy I saw on YouTube was the schools reporter for the FB team and had been there since MC was a coach at Miami (or so he says). We got 1 of those too. Can't think of his name right now. Anyhow just thought I'd let you know. He mentioned it wasn't a done deal. We would find out after championship game because that's the type of guy Mario was. He would never allow the distraction to his goal right now of a championship, his employer U of O and his players. Sounds like Mario to me.

I agree this is kind of shady, but it still doesn't mean he hasn't been. I mean home, family and alma mater ???

My main concern is that it's his home and alma mater. It's more important that he stays a Duck now that USC has hired Riley We are going to need his recruiting prowess. I believe he's the best there is for us as he has shown with the top 4 recruiting classes in school history. Chip Kelly was an anomaly. He brought in a new style of football and changed the game. But that advantage is long gone. His main complaint was how hard it was to recruit to U of O. I don't want to return to the years before CK even though it was better than before. The name of the game in today's college FB is recruiting. Period. And IMHO Mario is the best chance for us to do this, bar none!

I see what you are saying but we don't play everyone anyway with playing 9. This season we missed ASU and USC. It would just mean instead of playing both of the mountain schools we would only play 1 of them and alternate every 2 years just like we do with the Arizona and So Cal schools now. The main reason for the 8 league games would be to compare with the SEC and ACC. At 8 with 4 patsies it would level the playing field between the leagues. I also believe that it's the best way to protect our players from injuries and fatigue because of the way the game is played now. And as Jon mentioned it would provide another home game for each of the PAC teams which would help with revenue.

Didn't we lose to them in 2019 and then beat them in the championship game?

I was just watching a YouTube insidetheu from 6hrs ago stating that they are still going after him and if it happens it will be a couple of days after the game Friday.

It was southern CAL wanting to play northern CAL every yr and Or/Was wanting to play in LA every year, as I remember it.

He out recuits Whit. I believe we would have had no losses in the PAC without the severity of injuries. He has no control over that therefore he should be #2. IMHO

football pays for almost every other Mens and all of women sports. What's wrong with a super conference. It would be more equitable. Like going from NIAA to FCS 123 then FBS. Just make 2 divisions in FBS with their own championship. It would be fairer. As far as as the noble goal of student/athlete what's wrong going to school to be drafted. It's a career just like any other. As far as the few who do make it vrs the large number who don't hardly any other profession does much better. They all still get their degree, chance at NIL money in both divisions and be draftable just like now. It makes a lot of sense to me. It would allow the bottom half that barely get a sniff to play for a championship. We already have super teams in the 5 conferences anyway and are never going back. So my question is why not?

I believe the SEC wouldn't go for that. they always have 2 teams in the top 4 playoff committees rankings

I so agree about the Utah game. I look at who the SEC plays towards the end of the season and they always have a 4th pasty game. It's like another bye week to help heal up for the grind of the end of the season. I know the Big 10 plays 9 league games but I'm sure they feel the same. Can't wait.

I don't understand our League Can anyone explain why our teams get no help? I'm talking about our game on Friday for the championship. Utah played last Friday. We played Saturday. That gives them 1 more day of rest and preparation for our game. Am I wrong to believe it gives Utah a sizable advantage and if so how can this happen? I'm so tired of the PAC, from the scheduling ( especially 8 league games) to the refs. Do the Big 10 or SEC have these same problems or not? It doesn't seem that way to me! And finally does anyone know what can be done ( or don't bother) by us the fans? A letter writing campaign to the commish. I know the fans at the other schools feel the same way. A frustrated Duck.

Doubt any coach would go from OC to HC and was fired, would come back to be the OC again.
