  1. From Ross Dellenger And there among them, in the madness, a hero trekked across the field: transfer quarterback Dillon Gabriel, minutes removed from a 373-yard, three-touchdown performance, a nationally televised prime-time outing that just may usher him into the Heisman Trophy conversation and has put the Ducks squarely in the title hunt. As great as Ashton Jeanty has been, aside from Oregon, Boise State hasn't played anybody, which does make their schedule stronger than the other leading candidate, Cam Ward. Travis Hunter is doing something no other player has done, but it shouldn't get him the Heisman, Gabriel's game against Ohio State was full of Heisman moments, and it's only October.
  2. You know, I'm going to believe, until that happens, that if our pals in Geogia beat Texas, and the Ducks take care of Purdue, 7-0 Oregon will be No.1.
  3. So, there is at least some sense in Buckeye nation. They won't be able to hear for a while, but they have a bye next week.
  4. Of course, what ruined everything first was 2007, Dixon had the Heisman, the Ducks were more obvious picks to win the Natty than Georgia was the last two seasons, then...
  5. No. 6 is way too high for Miami Hurricanes I don't care that the Miami Hurricanes were on a bye. This team may be 6-0, but we may have crowned the Canes a bit too premature as the team to beat in the ACC. It may be because we want something shiny, new and exciting to entertain us. The problem with that is I firmly believe Clemson is emerging as the real team to beat in the ACC. They got blown out vs. Georgia, but are now destroying teams. Miami's last two wins came by the narrowest of margins over rival Virginia Tech three weeks ago and very late into the night two weeks ago vs. Cal. The Mario Cristobal of it all concerns me deeply. He will shamelessly rip defeat away from the jaws of victory. I don't know when their first regular-season loss is coming, but it is indeed on the horizon. I would keep a close eye on both Duke and Georgia Tech... If Miami runs the gauntlet, then they deserve to be a top four seed. I just feel they are untested now.
  6. And hopefully win that one with the top defensive player in the game.
  7. Thanks, I saw they did a while ago, recording it too.
  8. I see Winston's comment as nonsensical. On the other hand, to me, Howard's was a player on the losing team unwilling to give credit to the team that won. Much worse in my book.
  9. It's Ohio State's fault that the first, even good, team they played was @ Oregon. OBD's schedule looks like it was structured perfectly. Some things to work on, got tested, and Boise State is better than good. Now, Purdue still isn't good, but will be playing off their best game of the season, when they host OBD next Friday,
  10. Right on every count. This is Washington, without the winning. They can't accept they lost...to Oregon? So, of course that OPI was a horrible call. Of course, that strip interception by Oregon didn't happen and shouldn't have even been reviewed? It must be tiring for Day, who does have a worse B1G and just Big game record than Lanning
  11. Hilarious even. It was against SUC, but Penn. State didn't look like a No.3 to me. Dynamic offense? No. Dominating D? No. PSU & OSU both have Byes next week. The B1G game? No.5 Georgia @ No.1 Texas.
  12. I concur completely, tOSU is a football factory, and actually that's good.
  13. As they say, and it is said to easily, that game is an Instant Classic. You hit the big plays, Kamikaze, and there wasn't a dull moment. I hope the B1G Network has the 60 minute format for replays. Gabriel isn't big , but he was B!G enough to lead the team to for now the biggest regular season win for OBD in history. All of this done with Burch not playing. Evan Stewart had a fantastic game, Jordan James won't ever have breakaway speed, but as Anthony Newman puts it, "that guy is a beast!" Smith & Egbuka are great WR's, but Smith's biggest play was the OPI. Howard's, "Oregon didn't beat us, necessarily" now zoooms to the top of pathetic postgame comments from the losing quarterbacks.
  14. I'll leave out the "almost", they are disgusting. I'm not worried about Oregon fans turning into their ilk. What would be fun is if Ohio State dissolved into what USC has become.
  15. Not to beat a dead horse...but I guess the finances @ U$C are such that Riley will be strapped to the hitching post for a couple more years and rumors of U$C being dead won't be exaggerated, The fans @ SC are front runners, so they aren't doing a lot of crying. Trojan football ain't cool no more and is just disappearing.
  16. Desmond also picked the Ducks to win the championship, and unlike Herbie, picked the Ducks, along with McAfee and Olsen, so well done, Des! The game @ Michigan might not even offered to pick.
  17. That is a necessary skill for fans to pick up, and it's the end of Oregon playing the underdog. Oregon is on top of the B1G.
  18. Yes, UCLA and UW have moved into the B1G and taken their place, as Kaitlin Olsen said, "USC is just embarrassing themselves, while OBD is doing "The Jefferson's", "Movin on up, to the penthouse in the sky". There were several moments during the game that it was right there for Ohio State to take control. But they didn't. The announcers of course saw that as Ohio State missing a chance, not Oregon, stopping them. But that's too be expected. The Ducks definitely didn't finesse their way to the win. They won it in the trenches, in the air and on the sideline.
  19. Day is being roasted on the Buckeyes fan boards, Overall, he has a great record, but he's lost 3 straight to Michigan, and now that's 2 straight, home and on the road, to Oregon. Any way you look at it, Lanning out coached him. This was a great move, and whether it was intended as an on attempt at an on side, or just a squib, that too was brilliant.
  20. Absolutely right, Charles, I can't imagine the last drive sounded any different on Ohio State's radio broadcast.
  21. Yes, some cognitive awareness from Washington: Honestly. We probably won’t hear much. They really don’t give a (blank) about us, which is fine. We pose zero threat to them.
  22. Nevada 42 Oregon State 37
  23. A tip of the cap, to Rick, "The Ducks are gonna win" Neuheisel
  24. I figure No.1 Texas No.2 Oregon No.3. Penn State No.4 Ohio State No.5 Georgia
  25. As the Harbaugh's say, "WHO'S GOT IT BETTER THAN US? NOBODY!!!"
