Speculation is rampant about the Ducks' defensive standout. A Twitter/X user shared a screenshot of Hopkins detailing Burch's injury status this week. This is more of an insider scoop than it is confirmed by the team, but Hopkins shared that Burch got "knicked up" and was held out of practice out of precautionary concern. This was in response to a rumor that Burch was carted off the field. The good news for Burch and Oregon is that the team source told Hopkins that was an "excessive exaggeration of what happened." That would have been a disaster for both the team and the player.

Is Oregon’s National Perception About to POP?
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The one Outlier among the national narrative? Rick Neuheisel. Of course, he actually has experienced Autzen and could point out Oregon on a map. The rest are completely unaware of where Oregon is, geographically or as a football team. No way is Nick Saban picking the Ducks tomorrow. Finesse is a dirty word in football. Even when those Oregon teams were consistently in the top 5 in rushing, the ground game, the label stuck. Since almost every team now is using tempo, putting players in space, finesse has faded away. But this is a game the Ducks need to win to be recognized as legit. -

Time For the B1G Heavyweight Bout of the Year
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This game is maddening! Of course, like is said about every game, you have to stop the run. Make them pass," But with Smith & Egbuka, you don't want Ohio State to pass! So, the front 7 are the most important 7, they've ever been. Control Henderson & Judkins. But most important, a pass rush like we haven't seen from OBD ever! The Ref's hand is on the flag as soon a ball is close to Smith or Egbuka. Howard has to be picking himself up all game. -
Time For the B1G Heavyweight Bout of the Year
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
So, being completely objective here, the travel factor, the Autzen Explosion and that Oregon is actually really good will derail all of Ohio State's plans, meanwhile, unless Penn State's equipment trucks end up in Arcata, Penn State will be 6-0. -
Terrance Ferguson: "It’s the Best Offense I've been a Part Of."

One of "the experts" Paul Finebaum is sure that Ohio State will be up to their first "serious challenge" of the season. Of course PF was also certain about Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, USC, last week. -
Herbstreit Says Oregon GameDay Experience Is His Favorite

A Great Guest Picker, best of the season by a mile. Her new show, "High Potential" is the best show I've seen on network TV in years. -
A Buckeye Declaration That Will NOT Age Well...

Absolutely. First, 'these OSU players" haven't played a B1G Away game yet this season. They actually haven't played a big game anywhere this season yet, This Bucknut is rattled already. -
Herbstreit Says Oregon GameDay Experience Is His Favorite
30Duck replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
“This (Oregon crowd) is the best crowd, it’s 6 a.m. in the morning. It’s dark, it’s raining, they don’t care,” Herbstreit said. “These fans right here, pound for pound are as good as any college football fans in the country.” I think Herbie is sincere. Last week, Cal did pretty well considering they had never hosted "GameDay" before. Of course Corso isn't missing "GameDay" at Oregon. -
B1G TEN Network and Comcast Come to an Agreement
30Duck replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
With 12 teams, the Pac-12 Network did come up with separate channels for each pair of teams, B1G has 18 teams. I suppose Oregon & Washington will have to share if the B1G provides satellite options. -

With you on this. I'd also like it if Bucky Irving was in the backfield. If Stewart starts getting used more, the passing attack could be the best. -

It’s Time for a Centralized Authority on Officiating
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great idea about the ball having a sensor, a less technology based change that would help is to have a 1 minute limit on reviews. If irrefutable evidence can't be found by then, the call stands. -
This is why Oregon had to make the B1G move. It would have been a great game if Oregon was still in the Pac-12, but this one is for Supremacy of the B1G! Oregon's opportunity to make a statement...while Oregon State is playing Nevada.

NCAA Approves Elimination of National Letter of Intent
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
As loathe as I am to give the NCAA any credit, this could be a good move. It's absolutely a move towards college football becoming the NFL-lite, but it will help to avoid a situation like what happened with Matt Sluka at UNLV. and, when it's the Super Conference, instead of recruiting as we know it, there will be a Draft. -
This catch by Jeremiah Smith got a lot of reaction, of course compared to Odell Beckham Jr.'s but as was mentioned earlier, look what his other arm was doing that made it a one handed catch! http://res.cloudinary.com/ybmedia/image/upload/c_crop,h_1123,w_2000,x_0,y_40/c_fill,f_auto,h_495,q_auto,w_880/v1/m/7/9/79a9da02a2da2552195e83032e857d71d1d42f01/star-ohio-state-alabama-freshman-would-case-2025.jpg

I go with my immediate reaction on the uniforms, and my immediate reaction to this one was, "Oh Yeah!"

Nothing would be sweeter than beating theeOhio State. I know they consider Oregon's win last time as a fluke, kind of like Vanderbilt beating Alabama. But OBD needs to win and maybe even that Buckeye fan who didn't grasp how loud Autzen can get, would realize that would make 2 wins in a row for the Ducks.

There is much to hate about Ohio State. Cardale Jones, Ezekiel Elliott. That game burns almost as much as the L to Auburn, The 2 WR's who were missing, te tow drops by Oregon WR's that were playing...painful. The joy of beating Ohio State at the 'Shoe can only be surpassed by making it 2 in a row with a win on Saturday.

Is it Time to Feel Sorry for Them Yet?
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I was thinking the same thing a while ago, and feeling sorry for the Rodents never crossed my mind. Washington has always been Oregon's biggest rival, and OBD has been the hammer to their nail for the last 30 years or so. Oregon-Oregon State is a rivalry manufactured out of geography. Oregon State, save for baseball & a run by the Gary Payton era basketball teams, has never belonged in a Power Conference. They'd have ruled the Big Sky if they'd moved there decades ago. Match facilities between the Oregon -Oregon State? The reaction from OS to Oregon being in the B1G now, while they're left in the Scrap Heap; that Oregon deserted them, somehow owes them is pathetic and predictable. The Pac-12 was sinking. Oregon was tossed a life preserver. Oregon State didn't get one. So now they're treading water. -
A Buckeye Declaration That Will NOT Age Well...
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Former Pac-12 coach Rick Neuheisel now works for CBS Sports, and he recently picked the No. 3 Oregon Ducks to beat the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday, Oct. 12. The only member of the CBS panel to pick Oregon, Neuheisel offered a memorable quote about the effect Autzen Stadium has on opposing teams. Neuheisel said, "I agree with all of you guys. You're impeccable with your information, but have you ever been to Autzen when those people get turnt out? This is going to be wild. This is going to be maniacal, and Eugene will come to life." Neuheisel took a couple of trips to a hostile Autzen Stadium while coaching at Washington from 1999-2002 and at UCLA from 2008-2011. "Dillon Gabriel also knows how to play on this stage, having done it against your Longhorns a year ago," Neuheisel said to fellow CBS Sports analyst Brian Jones. "Over 100 yards rushing yards in that game. I'm taking the Ducks. The Ducks are winning at home." -
New CFB Playoff REMOVES the Pressure Off This Game?
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Maybe Cal & Stanford were smart to join the ACC. I just read that Clemson's schedule is easier than Miami's! The only reason Clemson isn't in the top 10 is their game at Georgia. So, after a year or two off, Clemson's playoff plan is back on track. -
Oregon Offense: Will Stein Backs Up His Vow
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Both teams have great WR's, so far Ohio State hasn't shown a TE like Ferguson. I can remember a lot of games, specifically against Arizona with Gronk, when the Duck D had no answer to the TE. -
