The gameplan going in would be to take out Neville. Well, Iowa did that, and it didn't matter. Going to the bullpen for the Hawkeyes was the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, speaking of the same result? Player of the Game? Jacob Walsh, who has to betting the attention of MLB scouts now!

Better for OBD - No. 1 Recruit or Three Experienced Players?
30Duck replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree, Jon. 3 >1. Cantwell could be All World, but the Ducks already have "World" at OT, along with Harkey and proven stud, Pregnon. I say go volume with NIL, how many Heisman's is Michigan's 10M QB going to win? -
I'm relieved that Curt "I'm a Winner" Cignetti didn't make the cut, and the "longevity" issue for Lanning is bogus, 35-6 is more than enough to make an assessment on his coaching abilities. I still maintain that Day is a Coach who does a lot with a lot, but often not enough. In my criteria, at the top I'd just rank the coaches on if I'd want them to be my coach. Kirby is a lock at No.1, moving forward, who looks better than Lanning? We'll see if Swinney, who has bucked the system the last few years can get Clemson back on top, fortunately, Clemson is sitting pretty in a basketball conference.

Was that fun, kids! Wow, Iowa was set on coming back from the run-rule in the 1st game, and those back to back home runs, had me feeling down, But not the Ducks! Long ball and small ball gets the win. Player of the Game: Jacob Walsh

Oregon is starting a brand new QB, behind a new OL, he'll be handing off to new runningbacks, throwing to new receivers, and the defense will be new too. But an objective floor for Oregon is 10-2. Penn State has a returning QB, returning RB's, two returning LB's. They won't have their all-American TE, or edge rusher back, but it looks like it will be happy time in Happy Valley. Is the biggest factor that Lanning returns at Oregon and Franklin at Penn State?

Not many teams have two pitchers as good as the Ducks have in Grein and Sokolsky. Hopefully they both hit the floor against Michigan and are ready to take the Ducks om a long run.

No.6 Oregon Blasts Iowa with the Run-Rule, 10-0!
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Absolutely. Iowa's pitcher got out of the 1st giving up only 1 run, and was sailing, until he hit Garate, then it was all OBD. Grinsell was ready for another pitcher's duel. instead, he got a 7 inning run rule. 4 home runs, and none of them by DeVille or Walsh, who did keep his stolen base streak alive. Iowa will definitely be amped for this one. and SoS aside, are better than osu2, 1st place is there for OBD. -

Oregon's Path is OPEN: Northwestern Upsets UCLA 9-4!

Why not, winning regular season championships is what Oregon does in the B1G! -
No.6 Oregon Blasts Iowa with the Run-Rule, 10-0!
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
With 2 outs, Northwestern scored 3, aided by 3 wild pitches, 2 walks and a hit by pitch, between those, Northwestern got two singles. Northwestern wins, 9-4. Ducks and Bruins are tied, tie-breaker goes to OBD! -
No.6 Oregon Blasts Iowa with the Run-Rule, 10-0!
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It's 6-4 Northwestern in the 8th. It would be 6-5 on a grand slam by the Bruins, except somehow the player that hit the ball over the fence was not the last player to touch home plate and was called out. -
No.6 Oregon Blasts Iowa with the Run-Rule, 10-0!
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Home runs all over the place, but not for the nation's leader. Garate tries to bunt, ends up getting hit in the hand. He stays in the game, next time up, hits a grand slam, and gets Player of the Game! -

Diamond Ducks Hosting a Super-Regional is NOW in Play?
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
"There's no crying in baseball!" True enough. As the season goes, your team wins some and loses some. But, OBD has the leader in home runs. a bunch of others who can send it deep, great fielding and in Grayson Grinsell an Ace on the national level. A Super Regional is in reach, but if it isn't, this team can still get to Omaha. -
Game summary at the end of the thread! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With some help from Northwestern, the Ducks can win the B1G Championship. At first, 24 sounds like a lot. But the format works, the Pop Tart Bowl will still be there for The U.

And yet, I know it's Sports Speak, but Washington Fan HATES Uncle Phil. They haven't won anything since '91, so it's hard to really measure, but an Oregon loss is as close to a rub on a Huskie's tummy as a Washington win is. Don James got the 'ship, then left in a cloud much darker than Chip's, but he's revered on Montlake. Billions of dollars are right there, but nobody even comes close to Knight for UW.

Opinion: Why the Big-10 is Falling Behind in Baseball...
30Duck replied to sports fan's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Made some good points in the article. I don't know, maybe there's a huge lacrosse fan base? I know we all want to watch football, but... First, Big Ten Network and Fox Sports 1 could showcase more baseball games instead of constantly pushing old football game reruns. -
I don't see the Wisconsin game from last season that just looks like an L. Is it smart to predict back to back undefeated regular seasons for OBD? Probably not. But...
