  1. Again, who cares? 10-18 means you dominate the Pop Tart Bowl and other ones played in mid-December
  2. Interesting you say that, a few years ago, there was this guy who would show up on TV and radio touting his "foolproof" formula for betting, and seriously, it was "The team with the best players and coaches will most often win". As far as best teams, the Steelers in the 70's get my vote, at the time I was a Cowboys fan, I really didn't like it when they beat Dallas twice, by 4 points. But those teams were loaded, defense is practically all in the hall of fame, and the offense, Bradshaw is probably not even a Top 10, but I don't remember many missed passes or INT's and Stallworth & Swann, are my pick as No.1 WR's, and of course RB's, Rocky Blier and Franco Harris.
  3. Yeah, your dad and me would have definitely been on different sides in '72, I was cheering for "The Big Red Machine against Boston in '75.
  4. “Ohio State is a worthy champion,” McElroy stated, following the Buckeyes’ victory. “I think it’s even more impressive to think what this team had to overcome, and to know that had the four-team Playoff been in place, they would not have made it. It is poetic justice that the 12-team Playoff came to existence this year. “Think about how many times in the four-team Playoff era Ohio State was this close. Excuse me? It's time Ohio State won a championship???? What they had to overcome?
  5. It was universal, the only pushback was from ESPN, Herbie, "Look at the Final 4!". The ratings said a lot of people weren't impressed. That hurts ESPN, but not Commish's, even the B1G did alright, Osu2 and Penn State got the benefit, newcomer Oregon got hosed. Big 12 thought it was great.
  6. I'll have Danno and the Ducks No.1 until they're eliminated, Sark No.2, Kelly No.3, Freeman No.4, DeBoer No.5 Moore No.6, Franklin No.7.
  7. I always like playing the away game first, and UCLA has gone through more highs and lows than the Ducks have, Minnesota was a big B1G low. Everything about the team was its best in the tournament when they beat Alabama. The ebbs and flows are there. When the team starts out so great, the ebbs are harder to take. Hopefully, Angel & Bamba keep going and Bittle, Shelstad and the rest will join them in Pauley.
  8. I don't think that coach exists.
  9. Interesting bracket, Jon, lots of love for ASU at 4 without Skattebo, way to go NAVY at 12, Ducks look good at 7!
  10. Ducks drop to the 4 line in ESPN Bracketology and still in the West. No.16 is a little high, but this is when Altman's teams take off, and hopefully Minnesota was rock bottom.
  11. Good luck to Kobe, and thanks again to Boettcher for coming back to the Ducks instead of the misery that is minor league baseball.
  12. 1) What will Oregon’s record be and how far will they get in the playoffs? Hopefully 10-2 and the 8 seed. 2) Will there be a dominant team in college football? No. 3) What the heck will happen with Lincoln Riley and USC? I don't see much difference. 4) Will there be any changes to the playoff seedings and who deserves a first-round bye? Doesn't look like much will change next season. 5) How will the SEC “rebound” from having only three teams in the playoff? Maybe 4. 6) Will a team not from the SEC, B1G, or named Notre Dame make the semi-finals? Unlikely. 7) Will Michigan and Alabama bounce back? Michigan has a lot of $$ invested in their QB, will Alabama have a QB who fits with DeBoer? Will Dante Moore succeed at quarterback? I sure hope so. 9) Will the Ducks lose a coordinator? Maybe 2? I think they will both be here, 10) What is your gut feeling for 2025? 10-2 is the floor.
  13. The A's had a 3-peat, 72, -74, Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers, unfortunately, free agency broke them up, Jackson & Hunter both ended up on the Yankees. I lost interest in them after that, they'd have some success later, Rickey Henderson, Dave Stewart, Jose Canseco & Mark McGwire.
  14. I'm aware of that conflict, but I can't ever make a bet involving my team. I would have made some good $$$, if I had bet on my Oakland A's, '72, '73, '74.
  15. Not that I think unranked NC State is going to keep this going, but they lead No.2 Duke, 37-33 at halftime at Cameron Indoor, which maybe wild for this era, but has nothing on, "The Pit". The scoreboard isn't shaking at all. Duke wins, 74-64.
  16. Interesting that the game against osu2 had so many great plays in it.
  17. “We’ve sold our soul to television”: Mick Cronin continues to voice traveling frustration after game against UConn WWW.SPORTSKEEDA.COM UCLA Bruins basketball coach Mick Cronin expressed displeasure about his team's travel schedule following their game against...
  18. Interesting. If I bet, I'd take that in a hurry!.
  19. With you on this. I think Mahomes is already the GOAT, winning 3 SB's in a row would make him GOAT+. This Chiefs team finished 15-2, a L @ Buffalo in WK.11 and a throwaway L in WK.18. They started out with Mahomes to Tyreek Hill, he left and claimed that Tua at Miami was actually a step up. Now KC is playing a different game, with far from the most talented roster, but still dominating. the Eagles will probably be the betting favorite, take them at your risk.
  20. If it isn't Washington, I saw a list that Indiana's DC is a possibility.
  21. What has me puzzled about this is that thee Ohio State University would have had no trouble matching Penn State's $$$ offer to Knowles. Instead, they let him go, to a rival, in the same conference. Now they have to go through the process of getting a DC to fill in the spot vacated by arguably the best DC...and their OC might be leaving.
  22. I was thinking a bigger drop, maybe into the 20's, NET dropped from 22 to 27. NCAA College Basketball Rankings: AP Top 25 Basketball Poll APNEWS.COM The official page for the AP Top 25 men's college basketball poll. Keep up to date and view the latest NCAA men's basketball...
  23. With irrelevant statistics, how many championships the SEC has won since 1998 has nothing to do with which conference is stronger now, and if the SEC wants to say they're stronger from 12 down, go for it. I don't know how Indiana would have done playing an SEC schedule, but that's hypothetical. Alabama losing to Oklahoma, 24-3 was real.
  24. Pittsburgh Steelers went 2-0 twice, '75, '76, then, '79, 80, both times the Oakland Raiders represented the AFC in what could have been their 3rd.
