  1. I agree with Bill! Absolutely a "Play on" call. Yes, Flagg missed the shot at the end of the game, and credit Houston completely for the win. But that was an awful call.
  2. Men's Final Four takeaways: Houston stuns Duke with improbable comeback WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Here are some takeaways from Houston's stunning win over Duke.
  3. Inside Houston's shocking last-minute comeback: Clutch free throws, a Duke collapse, and a crucial stop WWW.SPORTINGNEWS.COM Houston was eliminated from the 2024 NCAA Tournament by Duke after missing nearly half their foul shots. The Cougars and...
  4. Oregon completes the sweep of Michigan with 9-1 win - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The Oregon softball team (35-3, 9-1 Big Ten) swept the Michigan Wolverines (27-12, 6-4 Big Ten) in a doubleheader at Jane...
  5. Flagg misses go ahead shot; Houston gets the rebound.
  6. Looked like Flagg was being fouled by 2 players on the free throw rebound, and he got called for a foul. Houston hits both ends of a 1 & 1, takes the lead. Houston on a 7-0 run the last 15 seconds.
  7. The commentators noted that Duke doesn't have much experience in close games.
  8. The part of that that is really irritating is the SEC's defense of their 8 game schedule, "Our conference is so deep & competitive that the Mercer game in Week 11 is justified". Also why when B1G teams lose to each other it's viewed as weak, and the loss will send the team tumbling. But if an SEC team beats another SEC team, they don't drop at all, and it's seen as a good win. Paul had a lot of trouble with it last season. But if Vandy and /or Okie, beat Alabama again, it won't be that Alabama is slipping, Vandy & Okie are just "emerging superpowers".
  9. Duke 34-Houston 28. Houston's D has Duke shooting 41% from the field, unfortunately, Houston is shooting 31%.
  10. Back in the early 70's my dad and me, and some other U of O faculty members and some of my friends used to play basketball early Saturday mornings, at Gerlinger Hall, which was constructed, 1919-21.
  11. Ducks open doubleheader with 5-4 walk-off win over Michigan - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The Oregon softball team (34-3, 8-1 Big Ten) hosted the Michigan Wolverines (27-11, 6-3 Big Ten) for the first game of a...
  12. My favorite Duck baseball player! Jacob Walsh’s career day sets tone in No. 15 Oregon’s 13-3 win over Michigan - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM Jacob Walsh became Oregon’s all-time career RBI record holder on a beautiful day at PK Park as the No. 15 Ducks (22-8, 10-4...
  13. Don't forget, Rueben Chinyelu, from Washington State. Definitely agree with this. Another agreement. Flagg is the most dominant player Duke has had. He needs to have a top game for them to win, and so far, he's been able to do that.
  14. Florida beats Southeastern Conference rival Auburn 79-73 in the Final Four to advance to the championship game SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Florida beats Southeastern Conference rival Auburn 79-73 in the Final Four to advance to the championship game.
  15. That's more like it. Florida, on a 9-0 run, ties it up at 49.
  16. Auburn 46 Florida 38. The upside for the Gators is they can play better; the downside is that Auburn might not, so unless the Gators can pick it up in every area. Charles Barkley is going to be very happy when this game's over. Auburn is definitely the more physical team so far; points in the paint, Auburn 26 Florida 14.
  17. Hey Finebaum, have you seen this? 3 B1G's and only 2 SEC's!
  18. So was I. I was definitely rooting for UCLA against SCAR. Haven't liked them at all since their coach decided that THEY were the champs in 2020, when it was OBVIOUS that Oregon was the best, and now TeHina Paopao, from a Duck to a Gamecock? Boo, I say!!!
  19. I still have residual "Hate" for Florida, from the 2007 elite 8 against OBD, but I picked them to win, so there's that. I've been a Duke fan since I heard they had a player named Spanarkel. Flagg is the best player left in the field, and his teammates are good. But I don't know if they're as good as the talent on the other teams. Michigan was right there with Auburn last game, until Auburn went on a 22-0 run, and it was over. Houston has been consistent, didn't put Purdue away as easily as Duke has won its games. It's definitely because Oregon didn't have it, but Florida plays tough D, hit's the boards and shoots the 3, and makes them. Haugh has really stood out so far. Unless you're Joe Namath, guarantees are worthless, but I can guarantee that both of these games will be close.
  20. I have Florida over Duke in the Championship, but I have no confidence in that pick at all now. Some might like a Cinderella finish, but for me, this is the perfect ending. These are the 4 best teams, congrats to the basketball committee! All No. 1 seeds? All for it! Why this men's Final Four will be great - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM No low seeds? No problem. We get to watch four of the most efficient teams of all time match up -- and that's a good thing.
  21. No. 5 Oregon softball edges past Michigan 3-2 - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM On a night of imperfection in most facets of its game, No. 5 Oregon (33-3, 7-1 Big Ten) found a way to win again anyway. A ball...
  22. Ducks were up 2-0, but Michigan tied it in the 5th. But, like the great Oregon teams did, it didn't take long for the Ducks to get back on top. Paige Sinicki led off the 6th with a double, that would have been a single for most hitters, then came around with what would be the winning run.
