  1. Simpatico up to UCLA, where I am more optimistic. I see a 5-0 start, W's at Colorado and home against Washington before a L against Utah in the Rose Bowl. But after an L to Oregon the Bruins get W's over Stanford and AZ before what should be a highly contested game against SC, before finishing up with a W over Cal.
  2. Great point, one that Scott Frost didn't see coming.
  3. I don't think it was ever that close to Thompson really replacing Brown. He did a "serviceable" job, won 10 games. The two against Utah weren't because of who was the QB, putting Thompson in either of those games might have set him back. The quarterback competition looks to be going well, and I think will produce more than a "serviceable" quarterback.
  4. Swagger is and has been rare in the Pac-10-12. USC had it with Carroll, Oregon had it with Chip, in fact I think Chip's Oregon team's set the standard for Swagger. The U had Swagger. Mario's Oregon teams did not, and I don't think that his teams at Miami will.
  5. With the "academic prowess" at UW, won't this wipe them out? Only 22 of 130 NCAA FBS-level schools say they have plans to provide allowed academic bonus payments to athletes this year WWW.ESPN.COM With colleges allowed to pay each of their athletes up to $5,980 per year as a reward for academic performance, only 22 of 130...
  6. It's something in Washington. The Seahawks and Texas A & M both use the "12".
  7. That is some great stuff, and absolutely ends on a high note!
  8. Every day we see another reason why it was so good that Lanning took the job. Connection to KC kept Dontae Manning at Oregon 247SPORTS.COM The Transfer Portal has become a polarizing trend in college football. For the players, it grants them freedom. An opportunity...
  9. I just wondered if Carter actually told Rothstein every school on this list without looking.
  10. Well, another Lady Duck is leaving, and this was just after hearing Graves on "Talkin' Ducks last night about how Pinto still being here was something that he and the fans could feel good about.
  11. Everything I see about what Lanning and his coaches are going to do at Oregon just makes it harder to wait for the season to start! Oregon Football: Demetrice Martin describes working with Dan Lanning DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A master’s degree in defense? That’s what Oregon coach Demetrice Martin said working with Dan Lanning and Tosh Lupoi could be...
  12. Among the very good stuff, He says he wasn't "frustrated" by last season, and that he's improved on "decision making." Both very good signs for the upcoming season.
  13. Welcome, Taya Hanson Ducks snag Arizona State women's basketball transfer Taya Hanson 247SPORTS.COM Ducks snag Arizona State women's basketball transfer Taya Hanson
  14. I did appreciate that he didn't utter the "Once a Duck Always a Duck" I actually cringe when I hear it. A couple of the softball players after they left with White to Texas used it in their message to the fans. Besides it ringing with insincerity, it's also factually not true. If you're a Longhorn, you aren't a Duck!
  15. Now this is how a school starts getting players like this on a regular basis. Oregon Recruiting: Mookie Cook pulls for Kwame Evans to come to Eugene DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM “That would be a big, big pickup.” Oregon’s Mookie Cook isn’t hiding the fact that he wants Kwame Evans, the No. 2 player in 2023, to...
  16. Travis Dye opens up about leaving Oregon and going to USC DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Mario Cristobal leaving Oregon for Miami isn’t the sole reason that Travis Dye transferred to USC, but the RB says it certainly...
  17. Bell, Bol Bol, Bouchet, Wooten, all great Ducks. But I'm hoping for BIg, as old school as today's game permits. The best that, Bell, and Wooten offered was on D, and Bol wasn't a in the paint, back to the basket Center, neither was Bouchet. The closest Oregon has, and he isn't there yet, is Dante becoming a Deandre Ayton, now starting for the Phoenix Suns. I look forward to having a 5 who is a legitimate threat to score inside, which would lead to making scoring from outside even easier.
  18. That is a great question, Charles. Any sound emanating from Washington, including Mark Emmert, can most accurately be classified as "noise" A sound, especially one that is loud or unpleasant, or causes disturbance.
