Getting DEEPER Into Oregon’s 2025 Football Opponents
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I am fascinated by the lack of Fire around Franklin at Penn State, the fan response, fervor toward Franklin's futility reminds me more of Cal & Wilcox, than that of osu2 & Michigan. The 13 starters back is similar to osu2 from last season, yet, even with a brand new QB, amidst other newbies all over Oregon, I'm fine with Oregon being the favorite @ Penn State. -

Diamond Ducks in Top-10, and a New B1G Team Ranked!
30Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
There cannot be enough credit heaped upon Oregon's Diamond coaches, Lombardi and Wasikowski. When White left Oregon, a lot of the players went with him to Texas, a lot of others left, and there were signs of tension between Lombardi, and the few players who stayed. All Lombardi did was leave the dominant team in the sport, go across the country, to coach a team that was beyond broken. and now look where they are, "The Jane" is rockin' again. The baseball team wasn't in ruins when Wasikowski took over, but kind of in a coma. Small ball wasn't getting it done under Horton. He did a good job getting the sport started again at Oregon. But it was time for a new coach and style. -
Definitely hate losing a DL, especially if USC is an option.

No.1 Duke hammers No.9 Baylor, 89-63. I have to admit, back in the late 70's, before Coach K, who started at Duke in 1980, I was a Duke fan because I loved Jim Spanarkel's name. I was also briefly a fan of West Virginia, because they had a player named Kevin Pittsnogle, back in 2006. I cheered when Grant Hill heaved the court long pass to Laettner against Kentucky, and was a fan of Bobby Hurley, before he became incredibly annoying as the coach at ASU. Duke is going to be hard to beat this time.

Absolutely true. I didn't like the nonchalance this year's team showed with their great start. The come from behind wins could have been great, but instead it seemed to have instilled a false bravado. When UCLA beat them, in a close game, coming from behind; it could have been a "good loss" but I don't think they learned from it. Shelstad can hit, has hit, some big 3's. But, neither he, or anybody else on the team is a leader like Pritchard, or Brooks were. The closest this team has to that type of player is Bamba, but his struggles offensively this season negates that. This era of players doesn't have the same intensity, drive, for the name on the front of the jersey that past years had.

NCAA Women's Tourney Second Round Duke 59 Oregon 53
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Brutal start to the 2nd half, 18-1 Duke run, from up 28-23, to down, 41-29. But Oregon made it a game, even after losing Peyton Scott, Deja Kelly was the only scoring threat for the Lady Ducks. Kyei played hard, but doesn't have the all around talent, experience, to be a real threat. Graves was kidding when he answered, "What makes you a great coach?" and he pointed to the court, where Sabrina and Ruthy and Satou...and the others from that great run were playing. He was kidding, but maybe there's some truth to it. -
I feel like Altman is like Lanning and will coach at Oregon as long as he wants to This year tested the, "Altman's teams win March", which turned out to be absolutely true, as no team has more W's in March than Oregon since Altman took over. You don't have to retire to get in the Hall of Fame as a basketball coach, and it will be great when we stop hearing, "Altman should be in the HOF" because he is.

Lots of memories watching the triple A affiliate, of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Eugene Emeralds. My favorite player played second base, Denny Doyle, at SS, was Larry Bowa, Over the seasons, a lot of great players wee Emeralds, including hall of fame 3rd baseman, Mike Schmidt. How about Greg Luzinski, Oscar Gamble, Joe Liss. The Em's first manager I was aware of was Reuben Amaro. A bunch of players from other teams went on to be stars, Spokane, than Albuquerque, was the farm team for the Dodgers. Ron Cey, Davey Lobes, Steve Garvey. Jim Ray Hart played the Giants' farm team and once hit a foul ball so high, it might still be up there. Of course, the treat about the Ems was that on road games, play by play announcer Hal Wehmeier, didn't go on the road, he recreated the games in a studio.

NCAA Women's Tourney Second Round Duke 59 Oregon 53
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
So far, Duck turnovers are keeping Duke in the game, led by former Tarheel, Deja Kelly & Duke fan growing up, Peyton Scott, playing in front of her usual Duke fan grampa, now wearing Oregon green, the Ducks have led for the whole game. 28-23 at halftime. The Ducks are shooting 50% from the floor, Duke is at 36%. 8 TO's for the Ducks, 5 for Duke, -

SEC gets one over the B1G, Tennessee 67-58, Tennessee Coach was not pleased that UCLA didn't concede in the last 2 minutes. so. the B1G is now 10-2. No.4 Maryland, No.5 Oregon and No.2 Michigan State try to join Purdue in the Sweet 16 tomorrow.

Well, B1G drops one, now 10-1. Wisconsin was down all game against BYU, but had a comeback going, down by 2 with 13.5 left, but BYU played great D and Tonje could only hope for a foul to be called on a tough last shot. It wasn't, BYU wins 91-89. Meanwhile UCLA and Tenneessee are in a tight one...until the last 2:15 of the 1st half, Tennessee goes on an 8-0 run. leads, 32-25.
