  1. After 7 years, and a move to the B1G, Oregon softball wins the championship again, Today's game had a bit of everything. Not really the time when you want to see cracks in the star pitcher's game, but hopefully they'll be sealed by tournament time. Yep, this Oregon team is fast, and aggressive, if one of the Luchar's get to 1st, it's only a matter of time and they'll be on 2nd. They hit the long ball too.
  2. Ducks got the series win with "Lurch" Jason Reitz on the mound. He had another great game, as did the relievers who gave up NOTHING!
  3. The Ducks look to wrap up the regular season at The Jane with a win! Senior Day for Kai & Kedre Luschar, Abby Mulvey, Staci Chambers, Dezianna Patmon & Paige Sinicki.
  4. No. 3 Oregon wins 14-0 over Michigan State; clinches share of Big Ten - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM There are no must-win games in No. 3 Oregon’s (46-6, 18-3 Big Ten) regular season, but there are games in which the Ducks...
  5. Couldn't agree more. Yesterday, Michigan State kind of was the exception that proves the rule. Congrats to them for the win. But Sinicki isn't going to bobble a grounder like that again, and in the 6th, Oregon gets the bases loaded, but doesn't score? It looks like Lombardi handled it perfectly, you're going to lose sometimes, and the response was expected and delivered.
  6. Now that's more like it. 2 home runs for Neville, increasing his lead. Walsh didn't get a stolen base, but did get a home run. Drew Smith has been the consistent so far this series. More credit again to Dzierwa yesterday.
  7. More popular? Absolutely. Better? Doesn't equate. Skill sets, Sabrina>Caitlyn. Charter flights Caitlyn>Sabrina
  8. At some point will the weight of USuC's talent overcome Riley's inexorable pursuit of mediocrity?
  9. Very uncharacteristic game for the Ducks, had the bases loaded in the 6th, no outs, couldn't score.
  10. Due to injuries, the lineup was changed, and we had some players not in their usual position, hence the three errors today. But Our Beloved Ducks overcame them!
  11. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM The Oregon softball team can clinch a share of the conference title Saturday, after being unable to do so Friday.
  12. Not sure what's going on with Michigan State today, but with the Ducks coming to bat in the 2nd, it's 6-0, Spartans.
  13. No doubt Sabrina is the GOAT, Husky fans tried to say it was Plum, who had the all-time scoring record before Clark. Sabrina could have skipped going for triple doubles and led in scoring, but the 3 D translates into more of a team player, and her team was loaded, the best Duck team ever.
  14. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Kedre Luschar has had a breakout senior season, but the seeds for her success were planted long ago.
  15. Very true. Is this L worse than losing at home to Portland? No. Grinsell pitched a great game, and I sure didn't understand the line-up change, has Waz heard, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? Very good chance that Duck's 2 and 3 pitchers are better than State's 2 and 3 pitchers, or they wouldn't be in 10th place.
  16. This could mean something now: Apparently Sarr has started following Nate Bittle on Instagram.
  17. Oregon absolutely needs to host a Regional...hopefully instead of Oregon State. Oregon being Mo.2 at the Corvallis regional would be another case of OBD being absolutely screwed in a Playoff. The football was format and Oregon was unlucky enough to be No.1. But if Oregon's season goes the rest of the way as we expect it to, then seeding them No.2, in Corvallis, would be ridiculous. The other parallel of course would be that Coach Lanning said, Coach Waz would see this a "great opportunity" and he'd be right.
  18. Everything going right is not unique to the Navy Seals, and everything definitely didn't go right when the Ducks won the first game. But Day can philosophize however he wants. Osu2 played great in the Rose Bowl, for a myriad of reasons, OBD didn't offer any resistance.
  19. Out doing some early shopping, saw a Beav fan and his son, looked to be around 8. The kid pointed at me and kind of smiled...like maybe he wished there was a transfer portal for fans. Dad, grabbed his arm, not hard or anything, and they went off in another direction.
  20. The Friday starter for Michigan State has an incredible 2.51 ERA compared to Oregon's Grayson Grinsell's respectable 2.97 ERA, so this looks like a pitchers duel shaping up. My hope is that our batters find a way to get to their pitcher, as we did against the great UCLA and Oregon State Friday Night starters. The Spartan record of 23-19 is padded with a ton of small schools, or weak leagues. We thought Columbia of the Ivy League would challenge the Ducks, but our batters tore them up and Michigan State played Harvard and Cornell. This was on top of playing Western Michigan, Monmouth, Western Carolina, Winthrop, etc. In conference play, Michigan State lost to UCLA 15-9, lost their series with Iowa 2-1, got swept four games by Michigan, lost their series to Illinois 2-1, swept by Indiana 3-0 in their series, but won their series by a 2-1 margin against Northwestern and Penn State. In the end...all the prior scores don't matter; the Spartans will be hyped out-of-their-mind to beat the No. 6 team at home before their crowd, and Oregon will have their hands full. Let’s get it done Ducks! SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Ducks coming off a season-series four-game sweep of Oregon State
  21. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon is the only team in the NCAA ranked in the top 10 in scoring, ERA and fielding.
  22. I think the Ducks are in great shape. Of course that means little. I just saw a projected bracket, and it had the Beavs hosting a Regional...and the Ducks were No.2 Insanity? Yes. But The Beavs still have the respect that goes with winning a couple Natty's. I'm not really worried about the Duck's chances if this somehow plays out though. The pitching is coming around. 2 out o f3 against Ucla. In the 4 games against the Ducks, the Beavs offense never got on track. In their best game, the one in Corvallis, half of their 4 runs came from a WP and a very uncommon error. Part of the reason the pitching is coming round is the defense. The Baltimore Orioles set the record for having 4 20 game winners in the same season; Brooks Robinson played 3rd. Now, Carter Garate might not be Brooks, but in the last half dozen games for sure, he's been a vacuum. 4 DP's against the Beavs in game 4, that shows that 2nd base and short are getting it done to. The OF hasn't really been tested too much, pitchers forcing the batters to hit it on the ground. Offense? yeah, the national leader in home runs is a Ducks, Mason Neville. At 1st base, Jacob Walsh is Oregon's career leader, he hit a home run in each of the games against the Beavs, and he hasn't been caught stealing yet, 6-6. It's not just home runs either, Coach Was, like Lanning, can multitask, long ball, or short ball, The Ducks are very aggressive, and no easy out, 1 thru 9. 2 of 3 against the Bruins, 4 in a row over the Beavs. Now, it's at 10th place Michigan State. I'm confident that the team has its head on straight. They know that every game left is the most important, they won't 'be looking ahead, or playing scared. Just do it!
  23. No.6 was the "Sweet Spot" last season, but due to some kind of major discombobulation, Penn State tripped over itself on the way to the championship game.
