I view ND as a mirror of Penn St. One other thing, while I hate the gauntlet Oregon has to play VS other team paths, the Natty will be no question the exclamation point on Oregon's rise. What do I mean? Nobody will be able to say Oregon coasted to the NC game. No one will be able to say Oregon got lucky here or there. Its straight up hill to Atlanta baby!

Such is the game of CFB. It ebbs and flows for Natty runs. Ask Georgia, Ohio St, Michigan, or Clemson. To reach the game is under 10%. Now, look at the CFB playoffs this year. Penn St and Ohio St. have a very good QB's but not great ones. But both defenses have been really good and been the difference. Now look at Oregon, a very good offense that has taken the entire year to become the juggernaut it is at the moment. But that defense has been a project as well from the beginning of the year. Continuity is enormous!! Experience is huge! My take is that the 2025 QB is going to have the best chance in development you will have for some time. The defense is much more important next year for said QB development. Then its 3 more years for Moore to find his footing and it all comes together huge in 2026. So, this year Portal isn't essential for next year's success. Would still take a QB and make everyone work for it. But, put your NIL money into the defense. It's been the difference in our run this year. We've never had one like this, and believe it or not, the defense can get even better.

There is NO WAY Texas and Georgia play for the NC. Georgia is going to lose to Penn St. or ND. Texas has a straight shot to play us in the semis. We beat them. We have a demonstrably better QB, better receivers, and an equal if not slightly better defense. The Natty is going to be Oregon/ND(Penn St.). I hope its ND because we already played PSU. DUCK ON!!!!!!!!

I'm going to crow just a bit y'all, I mentioned in this thread that only 3 teams deserve to be in the playoffs and that they are all beatable. With Joe'Ja losing their #1 QB, thats all but certain that they lose. Defense is beautiful, but there are a lot of decent offenses in the playoffs. Tennessee and Texas ain't gonna win it....nope, they ain't gonna.

Next year sets up as an absolute gift for a QB to get his web feet wet. We play @PS and home with Indiana. Thats the toughest regular season games. No Ohio and no Michigan. Whoever is QB will be given a gift for development and plenty of room for mulligans next year. We could very well go undefeated in the regular season again.

The SEC is garbage this year. I'm not talking their players. The teams are littered with 4/5* everywhere. But, as a team, there is almost nothing that looks worth watching. Alabama loses to a .500 team 24-3, 3 times!!!! Ole Miss is getting OWNED by MSU????!!!!????? 2-9 MSU??? O-fer the SEC MSU???!!!!??? Only 3 teams from the SEC deserve to be in the playoffs. Joe-ja, Tennessee, and Texas. And those 3 teams look totally beatable.

The whole SoS is bogus IMO. Its an opinion set before game 1 is played in August. Also, think being in the right conference matters? If Indiana was in the MW what would the 'Opinion' be? If they were in the SEC, what would the honks say? Another gripe of mine; because it all starts with opinion, if a conference had 2 loss teams all over the place, wouldnt you say that the conference isnt that good because the cream hasn't rises to the top? Yes, you stack these kinds of kids. The #2's are what give a team the edge. Kids get hurt and you need as little drop off as possible on game 14 on the way to the Natty. You basically want two teams on defense. Play them all, all the time

I might have a different take. The walk on coach might have had a slighted view of a post from DL that is coach speak. DL was probably just coaching up the fans. Don't worry, we got this, '1% better'. I'm having a hard time believing Coach Lanning would take an administrative move, inside his coaching house, public over X. Also, Coach Locklyn leaving for a lateral move isnt necessarily sour grapes. He may never want to be a head coach. Getting every dollar while your brand is hot makes the most sense. In other words, its never exactly what we all think it might be. The truth is usually difficult to find, if ever.

...no lie. I remember seeing so much money come in each month that I misplaced checks. I know.....incredibly stupid. I was 25 and my thinking was clearly not straight. I could have been retired before 35/40. But, I didn't listen. Life is good, don't get me wrong, but listening to older ones, humility, is better. It benefits 'you' in the long run.

I would like to add; If these kids aren't going to make it in the NFL then you play for hire not for allegiance. After all, they play for a scholarship which is getting paid right? If Martinez isn't an NFL guy then he has 2 years to strike while the iron is hot. Which one of us wouldn't take a 2 year $1 million guaranteed payout at 20 years old? A 6% return on investment is $60,000 a year for life as well as a degree. Yeah, you go for it and set your family up. After all, isnt that what you go to college for?

This kid was stinking awesome last year. I couldn't help thinking how instrumental he was in their wins. Sadly, wink wink, we have a treasure drove of RB's already. I'm of the opinion that playbooks aren't necessarily in need of scrapping because another team knows it. Formations can produce several plays with misdirection baked in. It really comes down to execution. Route running is paramount. Blocking is essential. Spead is mandatory. Now, the QB can slaughter the other team even if they know the playbook inside and out. I'm going with Offensive Line play and QB uprightness. If DoG is what everyone thinks he is then he should shred the other team regardless.
