Oh the irony when U$C loses enough to miss the PAC championship game only to be fair to middlin in the B1G. The worst thing that can happen is U$C plays/wins the PAC then goes on to be mediocre in the B1G, thereby extending the narrative that the PAC is weak. Oregon and any other team needs to play for the PAC championship game and then thump the first team in the playoffs. A solid 10 point spread would be fine by me. U$C can become bowl eligible and then destroy their bowl opponent. Why? Because after we thump those posers, Oregon only looks better if U$C wins their bowl game. But, leaving the PAC, U$C need only win 6 games. Arizona, CaL Stanford ND SJS Nevada That's the 6 wins you are allowed to have. Bowl eligible....no more! UCLA can have 7....that's because I'm feeling generous right now.

That is some of the biggest whining, cry baby piece of writing I've read in a loooong time. Every year there is a team that gets the proverbial cake walk. Home games are worth 3 points, or so they say. If you, U$C, are THAT good, it won't matter where or when you play. Cry babies! I'm not done. These whiners are pathetic. What do you think will happen if they get to the PAC championship game? 1) Championship caliber team will be waiting for the conference championship. If you win... 2) You are slated to play, potentially 3 games in the playoffs against Championship caliber teams. 3) That's 4 high quality teams in arow and NOT with Home Field advantage. Stop whining! Winners, Champions, don't whine about their next opponent. Champions play and win! U$C will digress this year. They WILL NOT make it to the PAC championship game. They won't even make the playoffs. You heard it here first.

QUAAACK! 2025 WR Dallas Wilson is a Duck
1Funduck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Love the enthusiasm from the kid. 24 months and 2 seasons is a lot of time to put tape out. I hope that the early commitment is due to dream school status and not NIL. I am mildly skeptical. -
I'm not seeing the NFL in his future. But, can he get a doctorate while enjoying the sun soaked beaches of Florida? 2 years and another degree ain't so bad right? Good for you Cam

Lanning Visiting Nyckoles Harbor: New Buzz Building

You trying to tell us something PD? Hmmm......I don't get it......hmmmm. -
Well done Fish!! Thx for bringing that morsel front and center. Can we envision a beautifully laid out article of under rated HS recruits that have Captained their team to a Natty? The failings of paying too much for the HomeRun recruit when an intelligent and driven QB, a la JH, is ripe for the taking.
-
There will come a time, not sure how long, when the 'Collective' chooses to restrict funding of NIL programs due to no NC banner in the rafters. To be sure, stupid money will always follow stupid dreams. But, I'm waiting for the 3 star QB to win the Natty. When that happens you better believe that this QB NIL will come back to earth.

Is $13 million true? What specifically wasn't honored? Did the real money come down to about $2-$3 million? Did Flo-Rida promise 'More' money than Me-ami' to acquire the services of Rashada and then reneged? Inquiring minds want to know. Pandoras box has been opened so there is no going back. But, I would hope these kids don't go for every last penny for their college decision. For example, if their dream school is Oregon with $1.2 million in NIL and Utah comes calling with $1.5 million, can they be happy that they received enough NIL AND their 'Dream' school?

Another 5* Enters Portal, Has Lanning Connection
1Funduck replied to Haywarduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Or maybe he wants to fast track his chance to the League? Playing back up might not be enough for these kids. We simply don't know the reasons for Portal. It could simply he the kid's idea of wanting 'Starter' exposure. -
Cam McCormick Enters Transfer Portal
1Funduck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This is sad. I have no idea, but one has to wonder, after a masters, why would you leave when you can get a doctorate. Is this the nature of building an SEC beating team? Is NIL a factor? -
Transfer Portal: Players of Interest

On the picture that is in your link. It has NIL value. I'm guessing that is NOT the actual paid amount. Looks like prognostication by the web site. -
Transfer Portal: Players of Interest
1Funduck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
So, if Mr. Burch, a 5* LB, with a 6'5" frame and weighing 275lbs can be bought for ~$63,000.00....... Hmmm. I truly want a cultural roster not a mercenary one. I believe it's how you create said culture in the locker room and bring everyone to a specific mind set. But, if you can line the field for $2 million per year with top 5-10 player at any given position that truly wants to fight to get to The League??? Seems like getting a disgruntled player, that has already played at the Collegiate level and has some Adult growth on them, would be more of a predictable outcome. If you can get these Men to buy into 'High Motor' all the time then why not? -
Holy Crap! Oregon is in on Some BIG Portal Prospects...Geez!
1Funduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Having a full complement of players allows for rotating squads. Can you imagine having 2-3 full defensive lines to rotate? Does it matter that you are a starter? -
Waaaaaahhhhh, waaaaaaaaaahhh, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!

USC could have hung? Then UU could have hung as well. Oregon beat UU with a busted QB. Oregon could have hung. OSU lost with a garbage QB by only 3 points. Their QB was found by the bowl game, and the defense has been pretty stinking good. OSU could have hung. Out of the, 5, 10 win teams in the PAC, they Didn't play Washington, and didn't play Oregon. They beat OSU by 3 and lost to Utah twice. USC's schedule this year was mediocre at best. Yes, they are a ton better than last year. But, hold up on the anointing of U$C for anything more than an opportunistic team doing what they needed to. Yet, they still didn't win their conference. Just sayin. If U$C could hang and be competitive, then the whole top half of the conference could be then. Hey, U$C, .....ScoreBoard! Now, go win your Bowl game because there is no crying in football.

I think I might add some more perspective coming from a Grandfather. I was raised in a world where me and my cousins would try to one up each other by telling of the types of discipline we received. It was a world of getting spanked by a 2x4. I wasn't injured mind you, but as kids, we kind of walked around like it was a badge of honor with who got it the worst. My father was beat up by his dad, my grandpa, and dad said he deserved it. Why do I share this? I have no ill will towards my father, he thought he was doing right by instilling discipline. It needs to be remembered that in the 50's through the 80's that the communication access to reasonable parenting was limited. Nobody, and I mean nobody questioned how a father disciplined his own. But, nobody questioned alot of things back in the day. Nobody knew the dirty little secrets that most families had/have. I love football. I love the incredible chess match. I believe its the greatest game on earth. 11 on 11 reacting within 3 seconds to every single play. But, somewhere we have chalked up inappropriate behavior to just being tough. I am reminded, by the same father of my youth, that you stand in the face of extreme danger and protect your family. As the head of a family, I must be the calm in the face of the storm. My family will find the leadership that comes from it as something to look up to and fight for. How the Head acts is how the body goes. Long winded, I know, but it gives perspective to why I feel the way I do. 7 Win Sark, 7WS, has been a head coach long enough to know his place. That media guy was doing his job. Holding 85-100 people back in a highly energized environment. Coach should have been steeled already for that repetitious environment. No excuse. Everyone was watching. His kids too.
-
I respectfully disagree. In fact, wholeheartedly disagree. While there is room for an 'accidental targeting', it by and large lends itself to training from the coach's level. You Never drop your head and put it in a 'Spear' mode. Never. You can lead with your shoulder. Everyone knows where they are trying to hit and from what stand point. Even a Bang Bang play can be shoulder induced like the one in the end of the end zone. Targeting, by definition, is a crown of the helmet hit and is nearly 100% intentional. Again, the recipient can move into play by dropping his body and the offender is clueless to the split second move, but, the offender shouldn't have gone in 'Blind' in the first place. Paralizing can happen when you blindly tackle your opponent. It's poor form and poor coaching. Why? Because the Coachs can create culture within the program to play hard and use technique to impose your will. Thinking of the safety of all those on the field should be paramount in every teams culture. Targeting isn't 'Playing the game'. It's ruthless and endangers everyone involved. Now, a hard tackle that removes a cleat is another story. The odds of becoming paralyzed are nearly nil. Also, the defender of such a hit has a reasonable chance to defend himself. Now for my own rant to the netherworld; Ejection for targeting. If the kid is carted off the field and doesn't return? Ejection for 4 games. This will instill discipline in the culture of College Football Teams. After all, there is a massive outcry for the well-being of kids and the travel across the U.S. right? Well, ......?

I'm hoping for a U$C win against Tulane as I got my wish with UU beating the stuffing out of the Spoiled Children and 'Demoting' them out of the PAC championship trophy AND the Playoffs. Their consolation prize is winning one for the PAC before we send them packing to the B1G 10,11,12,13,14, etc. etc. And let UU dominate PSU thereby adding another check in the loss column to the B1G whatever. The PAC would finish 5-2 with all 5 teams being 10 wins or more! That screams 5 teams in the top 15 next year. Booyah!!!!!!!!
-
This kind of conduct by 'The Leader' of a program sets the tone for respect of the game. I understand its a high energy environment, but there is NO excuse for berating anyone doing their job, Period! Not only does Seven win Sark need to apologize, there needs to be a fine as well. $5000 should cover it. Verbal abuse is not what these employees sign up for to do a game. That's just Husky Poop!

Cheering for Huskies: I Just Can't Do It
1Funduck replied to Desert Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I just 'Verped' in my mouth. OK... Oh boy.....here....we....go.... I am rooting for Washington. But, it's much deeper than what it seems on the surface. I can't stand the arrogance of the SEC. Texas is headed to the SEC, so I consider them SEC right now. If it 'Just Means More' in the SEC then I will hold my nose and take the Win vs SEC as well as a win in the Bowl season for the PAC. But, I'm still trying to figure out how we can have the win vs the SEC and still have a loss for UW. I need help!!! -
Do any appeal to me? Uhhh, no. Not one of them as a team. Now, as a TV market, that's another story. San Diego and Dallas aren't too bad for viewership ratings. Bring those teams. All the others feel like we are settling. Who's kidding who, we are settling for any team at this juncture. If you want the PAC to survive then you go after viewership. It's all about the eyeballs($$$).
