  1. Below are the top-rated college quarterbacks as of the end of week 13: Look carefully at who is No. 18, No. 7, No. 3 and No. 2! Ranking Top 25 Quarterbacks in College Football After Week 13 BLEACHERREPORT.COM Welcome to Bleacher Report's Top 25 college football quarterback rankings after Week 13. The only thing that matters here is on-field production in 2023. That…
  2. There are heavy rumors that Oregon is closing in on a new quarterback for 2024. As of this morning, one of the top portal transfer QBs available is Dillon Gabriel, who is the Oklahoma QB of this last season. He had 37 starts as the QB at UCF before coming to OU, and has 50 career starts now. He is in the same high school class as Bo Nix! He has had a medical redshirt year, and the COVID year, and thus would be a one-year band aid to allow for development of the young guns on the roster. Gabriel is not considered much of a NFL prospect at 5'11", but he is an elite college QB. At Oklahoma he threw for 3,660 yards , ran for 373, for 30 TDs and 6 picks with a 69% completion rate. He went to Mililani high school in Hawaii, was a big Oregon fan and Marcus Mariota fan, and now wears the No. 8 of his childhood hero. His OC at OU left to be the HC at Mississippi State, and Oklahoma had a young stud QB that they want to play or lose him. Dillon beat Texas, threw for 285 yards and ran for 113 yards in that game. In another game, Gabriel threw for an incredible EIGHT touchdown passes!
  3. I have three reasons why for the subpar performance, and I am working on it for a FishDuck article.
  4. Annie....it is OBD members like you that make me love this community so much. You are making lemonade, and we love to drink it being devoted Duck fans. BTW...I cannot say who, but females who have been inspired by you have signed up recently to be an OBD member. They see it is safe here as they read your posts and the reactions to them, and how we welcome all opinions. You were one of the founding members, and I want to publicly acknowledge how you have always been "one-of-us," yet have shown others by your posts and examples that the water is just fine in this Duck Pond.
  5. OK...that might the most I've laughed in a while. Painful, true, and funny.
  6. HDuck...as you know--we love humor here, and your original post was damn funny.
  7. Sure they do. He (hopefully) will get a full second half to run the offense. Seems ideal to me...
  8. Good gosh what a long weekend. I am ready to start kicking butts-through-the-goalposts. Have some of you lost your minds? You KNOW we do not allow any reference to politics or religion in our rules, whether it is Mormons with BYU, Catholics with Notre Dame, or now Evangelicals with Liberty. Leave it ALONE. I have no patience, and no time for this nonsense. Now that I've warned you--no mulligans. And don't claim it was benign, because people will get offended from what you wrote, and then you or others respond back, and it gets ugly. Been there! Just LEAVE IT ALONE. We are here to discuss Oregon Sports....stay on track. Geez. All I want is a nice peaceful, clean forum. Don't you? -------------------------------------------------------------- Rule No. 12: No Reference of any kind to Politics or Religion: I do not allow even a hint of politics/religion or subtopics pertaining to either; no names, no terms, no links, not even a word or any references pertaining to anything political or religious. Do not even use the word, "politics" or "political" or "religion" in your posts because just the word is a lightning rod that generates discussions in a direction we do not want the site to go in. Any of the aforementioned could initiate a political/religious discussion, and veering in that direction at all will cause a site meltdown in today’s acrimonious climate. We do not allow anything negative directed at any religion, toward anyone in the LGBT community, or toward any race, gender or ethnic group. No. 12a): Part of the challenge I have is not only deleting any comment that pertains at all to politics or religion, but to also remove the comments that could also instigate discussions that could hurt our community. I have to ask myself, “will that comment initiate political or religious discussion, even though the comment is fairly benign?” That is why I delete posts/comments that may not be blatantly political, as I have prevent the responses and fall-out that would ensue from the comment. People here want that protection, and not just from being attacked politically or for their faith, but from even having to read it. C'mon OBD Members...read the damn rules!
  9. I cannot convey my relief. Hopefully he will inspire the others to join him!
  10. I would hope that most of our best players DO play, even if for just the first half. We cannot lose this game, and trash one of Oregon's best seasons. If the core of our seniors don't play--then we are in for a dogfight against a motivated foe.
  11. Annie...I hear you. The number of really intelligent, accomplished Oregon fans who lose their minds and write crazy over-the-top stuff when Oregon comes up short, or does not play well--has been massive surprise to me over the years. Then, as astonished as I am, they double-down on what they wrote! Now pride and ego come into play as "I love the rules on the OBD forum...until they apply to me." I have learned so much about human behavior, and yet I still get surprised. As you noted, this is not life-and-death stuff. And that is why I forbid anything about politics here! Whew!
  12. Well, I think Georgia being left out is the biggest travesty. Of course they are one of the best teams, in the nation, if not the best. That is much worse than Florida State, IMHO, but.... ...it is a shame that a quick 12 team tournament could not be created. Then Our Beloved Ducks would also be a part of it, and everybody who is good would have their chance.
  13. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that Oregon would have been hosed. Too easy for them to...
  14. You have three undefeated conference champions in Washington, Florida State, and Michigan. Who do you pick for the fourth spot from the SEC? You HAVE to take the conference champion in Alabama, but Georgia is clearly one of the best in the land! Bulldogs could WIN a rematch! This is a Bad-or-Bad choice for the committee. Do they push an undefeated, and conference champion in Florida State, Washington or Michigan out for Georgia? Can't we make some last-minute arrangements to have an eight team playoff THIS year?
  15. Nobody has ANY idea. Because we do not operate as all the other sites do--I get tremendous push-back that has taken a ton of time and energy over the years. Thank you!
  16. OK, I have to interject. Stephen is one of the greatest Duck fans, ever, and one of the biggest proponents of this forum. He also has a dry wit, that I love like nobody else. But when you have been an attorney for umpteen years as he has, professional training, and natural, negotiating skills, kick in. I understand his choices…
  17. We have had some terrible periods of Oregon football to go through when it comes to managing comments or posts as I've done over the years. There were a number of them between the meltdowns in 2016 with the 4-8 season, the decline of offense under Cristobal, his leaving, and of course, Willie Taggart. So, as a publisher on FishDuck, and an Administrator on this forum--I recognize that when Oregon loses a game--a percentage of fans go nuts. It is the worst time, and we've lost TONS of great people who lost their heads, and when confronted about it would double-down over pride. I figured last night would be bad, but it was NOT. Sure we had a few, and I banned one, but that was minor compared to the past. And SO MANY of you were great fans in acknowledging the play of the Huskies, and being good sports about the future. Did you see the other sites? Whew! I go there for some humor and for some information to pass along, but last night (and today) the threads on those sites--made me turn my head away and get out. Calling them a "Cesspool" is not accurate enough. The vile nature behind the writing is enough to make you choke, and this is over Our Beloved Ducks? That is why I created this forum, to escape the terrible part of human nature that is online. I love this forum community, and while we are not large, we truly are special in the web world. Each one of you is rare, as you value civility over chaos and you are connected here with kindred souls. Cherish your part in this, and make the most of it! I wish I could give you all....
  18. So...that is the only reason you joined? To taunt us? Bye. He gone.

  20. It was one of the founding OBD members, and current moderator Steven A., who is the KING of one-liners that bring a smile to us all. Now don't beat up on him, (we need every volunteer and more!) because he picked the damn Huskies. But he did, and was the only one, thus the tiebreaker and even the score was moot. One more game to try our luck at this, and it was GREAT to see so many OBD members enter and join the fun. Congrats to Steven A., and thanks to all who entered!
  21. Whoops! That means we are NOT tied for the all-time recruiting record of 19 of the 4/5-Star players on Rivals. We now have 18, but I am confident we will pick up two more to break the record. I am OK with this too. Leaves a QB scholarship for a portal QB, and I like Moga more as well. Luke Moga
  22. You are quite right, but I give people a chance, and use this to sort them out and leave us with just the nice people left for this forum!
  23. In honor of our OBD member in Costa Rica...Thomas....I choose...
  24. Remember that on the winning play in last year's bowl game...the ref helped Oregon as he DUCKED under a pass coming right at him so Chase Cota could catch it!
