Its like this, who cares about Mario, he clearly didn't want to be here and the way he left was unacceptable to say the least. I thought McClendon was his new OC. Either way I hope it falls apart for him. I hope he's fired within 3 seasons and I hope it happens because why on earth they fired a HC that his team won 6 out of their last 7 games as in you get what you wisheI mean nobody went with the guy except Minny Me and who is that guy a 4 ft 2 OL Coach. That's like hiring a all female coaching staff at the NFL level because it wouldn't make sense and it's the same with Miami hiring Mario. They got it wrong.

Great points Jon and it sounds to me as if you already have Nix as the starter. I'm not willing to pencil him in as starter as I'm going with Thompson winning it. Either way if Nix does end up starting I would hope if Dill's offensive scheme avg's 40 points a clip then by all means find spot duty for the heir apparent because I've never ever watched a team at Oregon where if the QB wasn't getting it done at least our HCs gave the under study a chance to win the game and for Mario and the old regime to not let Thompson play was irritating at the least. I mean maybe NIX comes in and just lights it up and is a Heisman candidate by week 5 then more power to him and hopefully it will show TY what he needs to bring to the table when he does play. I do admit the two HS QBs we are recruiting look like the real deal. So the future looks great and now I'm just waiting for Tosh to show his recruiting chops with 5 star DTs. At least two every year should bode well for the future.

Of coarse this is all contingent on players playing all season. I believe with the depth and talent Oregon should be favored for every game except Georgia. I expect Lanning to have this team humming to an 11-1 season. I expect Dillinghams offense to score at 40 points per game and Dans new D to dominate the Pac offenses. I see a HC in Lanning that is a teacher through and through as look at his adjustments he made from the SEC Championship to the Natty as it was night and day. Mario for some reason couldn't figure that stuff out and it was all about him. HC needs to be able to let his assistants do their jobs and if they can't you bring in people who can get the job done. Mario wanted all the glory and we saw how that worked out as in not very good. Oregon's team is or has the most talent of anybody so this guy knows or should know he has the talent to take the conference W/O and hiccups. All those games you have as maybe a loss are in Eugene and I see beat downs on every one of those teams. If there coached up like I believe they will be nobody will want to play Oregon like nobody wants to play my Niners right now.

Honestly Jon I feel this is the easiest schedule they've had and it lays a foundation for the playoff. So we will see how this team competes with Lanning and his staff. Every game is winnable except Georgia and I'm certainly not going to count out Oregon against the Dogs because of the talent and our HC who just coached a natty defense against Bama. So to me this should be a 11-1 team and first PAC 12 team in since 2016 or whenever the Leg lifters were in. That was a nightmare.

I mean that is one cat I want to watch the full season because Sewell will or should be first team all Pac 12 next season and Flowe if he can play W/O injury then Flowe will disrupt the game as much as Thib's did. This guy to me is a future HOF LB. He needs to play injury free because he's special and we Duck fans would love to root these two monsters on. Heck that's not just it for LB though, Jackson, LaDuke, Brown, Bassa can come up and play that safety on the line. Talent galore.

Was hoping to see a lot more of Robbie on the Baseball field. Wish the guy well.

Yes I've been a little harsh on Arik the last couple seasons. When Buckner got traded for a 13th pick I was not happy because he did so much for the Niners and Armstead to me wasn't even a close 2nd. I still think they should have kept Buckner because the guy they drafted for that pick hasn't done nothing except be off the field with an injury. I have to give credit though to Eric especially that two sacks in hello and glad your working your tail off for the Niners. Next Green Bay and hopefully Jimmy G doesn't muck it up.

Also just my thought's but do we really believe those seven 5 star recruit's all wanted to go to A@M and play and stay there for three plus years? Its really a whole lot to do with the Benjamin's.

OK HW please give me your thoughts as to why Oregon can't get the best positional group every time? I mean it's about money right? Oregon we are hoping got this right and they really showed it by giving a DC 1.7 million and they've never gotten that type of money out to any coordinator on Oregon's staff. Look at what Oregon just went through four years of Mario and he did do a lot in those years we also found out he was what he was, not a great Xs and Os coach. We dodged a huge bullet and hopefully Oregon was one step ahead of us all. Oregon has to do this now. Thoughts!

Hey HD I feel the same way like pretty much everyone else. Yes Oregon has a lot going for it. There's just one glaring missing item. A NATTY TROPHY in HD Case. That's what this is about a Championship and just shut the football world up for at least one season. This is why now you must recruit at least in the TOP 5 of evert team out there because you need that depth and especially at QB. Sometimes it takes one special player and hopefully it's your QB to get you over the hump. Oregon needs to do everything to get this done. Legally speaking and if that means 80 million in cash flow then do it. Just Do It Ducky's!

Me to. Its is what it is and maybe a lot of us do not like the way this is going, but it is what it is and we must just get on board for now and see where this takes Oregon. Hopefully we get a whole bunch of 4 and 5 star players and if they can start then a Portal player or two.

I agree and more than likely unless he gets help he has a real issue with respecting the opposite sex. Do people deserve a 2nd chance? Yes. A person with his history Dan can tell him you have 1 chance to prove yourself so just do it. I mean no matter how talented he is this guy needs to show out. This might be his only chance to get to the NFL, not that I think they or some team wouldn't sign him as a FA and then you see. To me Lanning is trying to build off of some really great roster build up but lets be honest Mario pilfered the Ducks. So Dans just trying to build it now. I think we've seen the last of the old Ducks and every year with how CF is heading it's Championship or bust every year now. Can't not afford to do it that way now if you want to beat the McCoy's and the Hatfield's you know them people from the SEC. Hopefully nobody will take this as derogatory speech it's not meant that way. Its time and I think we are all gonna be pleasantly surprised by the product that ends up on the field. Well I guess with the new age football now going on it would at least be worth a feeler by Lanning and the staff. I mean think about it this cat is a top 10 talent at the next level so you never know he might be ready right now. This offense with the right QB would kick some serious boot. Equally you know Coach is going to make this team total whether it's the portal or sounds like recruiting is going pretty good right now so I expect the staff to bring in the best talent and right now it might be in the Peach state. There are a lot of 4 star's maybe wanting to come west because they believe Dan's MOJO. Think about it his defense gave up over 40 points in the SEC championship and 3 weeks later makes a game plan that beats BAMA. That's pretty appealing right there.

Great points Jon and it's like how far do you want your school to go? Here's the other thing when it's comes to Oregon. I can't imagine how much money Mr Knight has already donated but I 'm sure it's an awful lot. Stack in he is one if not one of the richest doners on the planet. So lets just say that 70 Million was coming our way because it could happen. Does he want to make deals like that because A@M actually wasn't doing that bad in recruiting to begin with and bang 6 or 7 FIVE star players. Now another SEC team building a super star team. Oregon cannot compete if their not doing the same.

Mario never brought in 5 star IDL. Dan the man is already filling the cupboards that yes Mario did help fill.

I wish him the best I really do, I'm just excited hopefully like QB I want fresh running backs that can see day lite and gone like the good ol days. It just hasn't gotten my blood up to par. If this will truly be an open competition at all positions then may the best player at each position pony on up. I would certainly hope we will see both sides barring injury play like monsters every second of the game then business will take care of itself. So in the top for defense and offense efficiently like top 1 or 2 in the PAC 12 next season would be a heck of a right turn.

This is great to the ear's. Refreshing and the rules are like the Golden Rule if you do them then your enjoying life. I do believe this guy is the real deal. So this team has talent is going to keep on getting more talent close to the 3rd and this team should still be the most talented team in the Pac 12. So we hopefully are on the fast track to a NATTY.

If we get the right QB whether it's Nix or Thompson all bets are off and I can think these guy's will be coached up for success and that means taking back the conference and there's just way to much talent right now for this to not be a 11-1 team. We had Hebert and because of Mario's infinite wisdom not could have under the right coaching been the number 1 QB. So talent's there I know now it's up to Dillingham to work his method's into both QBs.
