  1. "If Oregon wins the next two games...they're in the playoffs " That's the quote I like the most. And the one I most agree with!
  2. UW at #4 is perfect. Now we beat #16 OSU. Then hammer #4 UW in the Pac-12 championship. That's a guarantee invite to playoff. Scoo Ducks!!
  3. The NCAA apparently has ok'd the "Pac-02" until 2025 to allow time to rebuild the Pac-? At best, the hope is to bring in select MWC teams, maybe an AAC team or 2 and continue as a power 5 conference. This won't fool anyone, the Pac will be only be a glorified G5 conference and will not get full respect from playoff committee in the future. It will be surprising if other conferences allow a Pac-? winner to get automatic bid in future playoff negotiations. The hope for OSU is to keep power 5 status. My guess is they will, but in name only. TV contracts won't reflect huge amounts nor will other conferences treat them any better then they do for CUSA. But we will see. At least the civil war might continue as a Sept game.
  4. They will blend in MWC teams, maybe an ACC team and keep the 'Pac' moniker. But they will just be a glorified G5 conference. They won't get equal voting from playoff committee. And no matter what, best recruits won't head to G5 conference, no matter what they call it. I'm saddened by the loss of the Pac-12, but whatever teams join up now, it won't be the 'Pac' anything in my book.
  5. Maybe a case can be made for Oregon destroying the competition. Every team Oregon plays collapses for the duration of season. Even UW has played more poorly since that fateful Oct night. Oregon isn't just winning. They are destroying teams. Like for real! So, they should remain higher ranked than AL or UT.
  6. AP has UW at #4. That's where they should be Tues nite. Now we need to beat little brother in our "super bowl" and clobber those dawgs in Vegas. Sco Ducks!!!
  7. Bo played opening series if 2nd half. That's all. He threw a td pass (#7) to TE Ferguson, but refs called a mysterious p/I penalty. Ty T played rest of game.
  8. Choice: 1. If you want Ducks to have chance to make football playoffs, Huskies have to win. 2. If a Pac-12 championship is good enough for you, then it doesn't matter, Beavs can win 3. Remember that many OSU fans are very derogatory to us Ducks...karma says, they gotta lose.
  9. Efficiency. How do you spell it? Oregon Ducks offense led by Bo!
  10. Substance, not style or flash is something taught/coached from the top. At the same time, that 'flash" attitude is also taught or at least tolerated from the top down. The thing with Deion, he had the substance as a player. A 2 sport pro and an NFL lockdown corner, great stuff. But football really is a team sport. Having a star qb and receiver doesn't get it done at the D1 level. He hasn't won anything yet. Coach Riley has had success, but not at the highest level. His record against ranked teams is very poor. But some people measure success by the size of paychecks, so I guess in that regards, both programs are doing well. Our coach actually knows what winning a Natty feels like, and what it takes. I like the substance.
  11. If UW beats a #10 OSU on the road, they should jump FSU into #4. If an 11 - 1 Duck team beats an undefeated #4 UW in Pac-12 championship, they will be in regardless of what happens in SEC. There are still 5 ranked Pac-12 teams, only 3 ACC. And if USuC beats UCLA, their record is every bit as good as LSU. So, IMHO, UW wins out, we win out and win the Pac-12, we're in the playoff. Scooo Ducks!
  12. Btw, I think it's very interesting how MSU and Texas A&M, 2 of the first schools to hand out 10 yr, $100M contracts, are now both without coaches less than half way through the contract! This does not bode well for L Riley. He too has a 10 yr $$$ contract. We shall see.
  13. USC used to rule the west coast. Back when they could stock up on talent, and pay players with cash and cars. But with scholarship limits and now NIL, the playing field is more level and they can't keep up. In a town led by Hollywood celebs, a flashy coach is highly desirable, and they got exactly what they wanted. One note of comparison: Riley's first house in LA, a $7M Malibu beach house. Lanning's first house, a simple 4br with a big yard that he uses to entertain players, regularly. One fits the bling of big city lights, the other matches his words with his style, family and hard work. You are spot on David, Lincoln is the perfect fit for LA. As for the B1G, tOSU, UM, PSU, UW, and ourselves are perennial losses for them and throw in occasional upsets by Wisconsin, Minn.,or Illinois and the future is far from bright for the condoms.
  14. Great post K kid! I will say this, as much as those 2 coaches left us feeling jilted, disrespected and lied to, I am thankful that they came to Oregon. It was an uncomfortable time, but coach Lanning wasn't ready for us yet. Slick Willy broke the barrier of elite talent wanting to come to Oregon. Mari0 expanded that and showed what good recruiting could do. And both left. Giving AD Mullens the opportunity to stumble into the hire of the century. For that, I will never hate on those previous two, without them, we might never know how great being a Duck can be. So go get ASU coach and then pound those river rats! I want them dawgs!
  15. The throw Bo makes here is perfection. On a rope, right on time before the safety gets there. A true thing of beauty.
  16. It's more a dis on the Pac12 and an attempt to placate the G-5 schools not getting serious attention in playoff voting. Espn doesn't have to worry about an unhappy Pac12, and they don't want to bring any more attention to it then necessary. Educated fans will find the game and viewership will be high. ABC and parent Disney will be happy enough.
  17. This is exactly what the B1G wanted. Remember, every decision the B1G makes is in the best interest of UM and tOSU. Bringing in the LA market, and NOT risking losses to their premiere teams fits their goals. They also recruit CA. They don't care if the LA schools do well or not. It is enjoyable though, to see them both struggle. They are the biggest reason for the Pac-12's demise. Karma, baby.
  18. Camden needs to continue to kick in order to get his MOJO back. Yes, it's mental. But he has to work through it. We may need him, like we did against Texas Tech, so we need to keep giving him opportunities. As for kickoffs, his great kick after that ridiculous celebration penalty on Ferguson, 15 yards further back, put them on their 15! That was huge! He is also kicking more touch backs than any other kicker in years. Keep on fighting Camden! You'll get through this.
  19. As good as Bo stats look, I thought he played his poorest to date after that 1st drive in 2nd half. We should have had 2 more scores minimum, but didn't finish. I'm not criticizing Bo, just critiquing. The great thing, he recognized it too. He will be better next time. Compare how UW has played since their win over us, to how we have played... We are improving. This "sloppy" win will only further help our motivation and improvement in these last few games. Hang in there Duck fans. Getting "up" every week is not easy, but we seem to be doing it. UW, Mich, Texas all struggled in their wins. We still looked the best. The sad reality is that we need UW to win out so we can beat a 12-0 team to advance to playoff invitational. Sco Ducks!!
  20. Non football related, but virtually every team wore camo and/or shoulder flags today. I see nothing on usc sideline.
  21. So does he sit up in the coaches booth/box? Is that included as part of the sideline? Btw, fwiw, trying to steal signs is not in- and-of-itself such a horrible misdeed. It's the blatant disregard for the rules everyone else are expected to follow, no scouting in-person. On top of the coaching recruiting trips during covid blackouts, it appears Michigan, led by his highness J Harbaugh, considers themselves above and beyond following the rules. Much like ASU did. However, we can expect this to be the worst of it. I hope and expect coach Lanning &Co to be ready to camouflage our signals going forward. Welcome to the B1G duck fans!
