  1. I love them! The first time Oregon wore black unis was the Halloween game against USuC I believe. When they came out of the tunnel, everyone went nuts! We killed them! Ever since, I've been ok with black. These unis remind me of the Polynesian version worn once, so I'm good. I'm with Charles though about fans in black. Yellow or green might be better. Maybe all the sound coming from the vast sea of darkness will disorient tOSU?
  2. Also, yell from your diaphragm not your throat. Take a deep breath, hold your tummy muscles firm, and bellow away. We expect the players to leave it all on the field, we the fans gotta do the same. Besides, it's 2 weeks before next home game. We can recover by then. GGOOOOOOOO DUCCKKKSSSSSS!!!
  3. I don't think the outcome of the game is as important as we fans think. The atmosphere, the camus, the facilities and the coaching staff are the key here. From all reports, Oregon shines big with recruits on campus. The Ducks are clearly a top destination for years to come. Also, this will not be a disappointing game. The Ducks are ready. Coach Lanning and staff are ready. The fans will be primed. This is a game everyone will look back on and want to say, I was there.
  4. Never! Nada! Nyet! As I've said before, even their own fan base doesn't appear to be all in with them. Only sell-out of their tiny, shiny stadium was against us! If they don't even care, no one, NO ONE else will either. Long live the Duck! Stomp out Buckeyes!!
  5. I too recognized these plays in real time as being well designed. But the breakdown in slow-mo with explanations and arrows was just awesome! I thought that long TD pass to Tez was also brilliant. The safety had to choose between 2 players so one was sure to be open. Anyway, Charles you point out something great. The game within the game. The chess match in play calling between the legendary Chip Kelly and our very own Will Stein. Both coaches will have new plays ready, and new twists to previously shown plays. This is gonna be so fun to watch. Often I think the coaching staff gets too much blame or credit for a game. But this is one game where I think coaching will have a major impact. Players are amazing on both teams. It will be strength against strength. How the game goes will be greatly influenced by the coaches and play calling, both on offense and defense (new blitz packages, anyone?) I can't wait to see your breakdown and "hack-analysis" of this game later. Thanks Mr. Fishduck.
  6. A real heavyweight bout! I compared the stats of both teams in their game against MSU. Amazingly they were virtually identical. Total yards made, allowed, 1st downs, etc. Scores were similar ,tOSU 38-7 and we were up 31-0 in the 4th before all the subs. I think both teams are really equally matched. Great skill players, powerful defense, solid O-line, well coached, this really should be a classic game. Quite possibly going down to a last second play. Special teams could be the difference maker in this one. Can't wait for Saturday!
  7. How does this help NIL? Does the $$ go to the collective? It wasn't clear to me in article.
  8. Oh palease! The week after a big win (or loss) is always a potential trap game. A let down after the emotional win over UGA is not surprising, especially against yearly doormat Vandy. Losing the "mystique of the Crimson Tide"?!? Give me a break. Any mystique was with Saban. Everyone knew that, (everyone but Paul F). It's a new era of CFB. Will be much harder for any one team to be the dominate dynasty. KD is a good coach, but he is no Saban. Yet. Great win for Vandy.
  9. This is the week we've all been waiting for, we will see just how well we stack up against a legitimate power 4 stacked team. The good news is that this is only game 6, with half the season left to play. Regardless of outcome, there are still several good teams yet to play and lots of football left. tOSU has lots of weapons, and a front 7 on D that are big and come to play. This will take a full team effort on our part to stay with them. I think we are ready. It will be decided by who makes fewest errors. No missed tackles. No missed assignments. No presnap penalties. My biggest concern is our qb, DG. The last 2 games he has been a little off. Late throws, a little behind receivers or long. We need his best effort. If he is on target, we win. I don't think it will be high scoring. Both defenses are stout. Our punter and FG kicker best be ready.
  10. This is why I don't pay to read his stuff. He likes his own opinions so much and never backs down. Too arrogant. Ever since he was so anti- Belotti, even going after his wife and son, I've not liked his sport coverage. When he writes about people or anything else, he can be amazing. If the product on the field was so amazing, why does OSU, Cal, Stan, Ucla, even USuC have such a hard time selling seats! If locals don't care, why would other markets?!??
  11. Funny. They mention strength of schedule to justify keeping tOSU low, but not Miami. Virginia Tech is average, Cal is simply not very good, and UM struggled with both. And needed gross assistance from the refs. Remember, Cal lost to Florida St!! Oh well. They got what they wanted. We're talking about their lousy poll.
  12. I still can't believe the Beavis can't sellout their little 37K seat stadium. They are realizing what we here at OBD have always known about "little brother", they belong with MWC teams. And not even their own fans are willing to pay $$ to see them. That says a lot.
  13. I don't know why they would be upset... They only have 7 years left of a $95 million salary. A bargain. Don't ya think?!
  14. With the Duck doing the "Napolean Dynamite" dance at the game, great video meme Fishduck!
  15. Great points Charles. I concur totally that play calling is goi g hand in hand with comfort and development of players. Dillon is a great talent, but learning the offense and adjusting to new teammates takes game experience. Our win against the smurf-turf horsies looks better and better each week. I believe we are ready for tOSU.
  16. Why wasn't that offensive pass interference?
  17. I've been wondering, has NIL made for more parity or mediocrity? Sounds like a potential future article. Hope someone gets on that.
  18. Issues, not problems. I like that, and I agree. The Ducks have issues each week they can work to improve, not glaring problems. Call them growing pains. It's why we actually play the games. Nothing beats in-game experience. Tonight I want to see the continued improvement of our defense. I want to see few or none presnap penalties. And I want to see no easy points left on the field (like Tez missing a wide open Patrick). And no looking forward to next week. 1 game at a time. Let's Go Ducks!
  19. It all depends on who drafts him. He has physical abilities and soft hands, he will have a career in nfl. Maybe/probably not super stardom, but successful nonetheless.
  20. Great question Mr. Marsh. I've been pondering this myself for the past few years, I'm so glad you brought it up. And I love the variety of responses. We all seem to use varying criteria to define what is a "Duck". They all have validity. For me, I've decided each case must be decided on its own based on 1. How does the player feel about Oregon, and 2. How do I feel about that player. Example 1. Travis Dye gave us everything he had, just like Troy, while he was here. His transfer was more about personal reasons, and so my memory of him is good. So to me, he's a Duck. Example 2. Slick Willy. He was dishonest and clearly used us for personal gain. Not a Duck. Most transfers out go for playing time. Can't blame them. Most transfers in are handpicked by Lanning & Co and are both excellent players and quality characters that add greatness and leadership. Can't help but love them. While Bo Nix considers himself a Duck, he also is a 'war eagle' from Auburn and proud of it. Tyler Shough wanted to be a Duck, but also wanted to play and be developed. So he is at his 3rd school and still playing. To me he's a Duck. So I don't use 'once a Duck, always a Duck' as the standard. I go case by case. For me, Bryan Addison doesn't want to be remembered as a Duck. No problem. He isn't. At the end of the day, for me, I guess if the memory of the player, coach, etc brings me joy, then they are a Duck. And some, like Joey or Marcus, are "super" Ducks!! Immortalized forever.
  21. Oregon 45 - 10 2 t/o 4. sacks 310 yds pass We crush them!!
  22. So where does college GameDay go for Oct12? I don't watch it, but it's a big deal for kids on campus.
  23. Does the Scrap-2(?) have the wrong commissioner? Being out-played by the MWC?! Is it too late to merge with the power MWC?
