Colorado Isn't Breaking the Bank to Keep Prime from Going to Dallas
Maybe he's trying for a package deal, they draft Shedeur and get him too. Or he's just negotiating for more $$ to get better players. Gotta believe he is always scheming.

Kansas Volleyball Names Matt Ulmer 7th Head Coach in Program History
This seems sudden and unexpected. Does anyone know why the move? Family? Money? Problems? He'd rather compete in the Big12?

B1G Bothered: Oregon is Top-of-Mind for Coach Cignetti?
He is no fool. We can laugh at "living in his head rent free", but Cignetti knows that Oregon and PSU are the only teams in the way of them making playoffs. They had 2 losses this year and missed out on playoffs. He doesn't want a repeat. Good for him. I'm sure our coaching staff have already broken down game video to prepare for them as well. He knows, we'll be ready.

Will the B1G Trade a Champ Game for 'Championship Saturday?'
JJ, too much common sense. It's a great idea, but since when have those in power made any decisions that make any sense other than "non". I say again, you should be the commissioner of the new super CFB league. 😉

NIL and Title IX
If this is upheld, there will be some major problemos! Will tOSU pay 20M+ for girls bball and softball? I have a daughter, but I think title IX is too much. There is no gender equality, only equity, it's not the same. Why do female gymnasts get more $$ then the guys?! Oy vey! August can't come soon enough!

Its B1G and Will Likely Get Bigger - Lots of Alumni With Lots of $$$
If this continues unabated, college football players will have to take a pay cut to go to the NFL!

Texas Makes Oregon Feel Even Worse
Well, we got the O-line transfer from USC, who shunned Texas. He must have read your article Darren and agreed with you. That's a good omen. Bring on the '25 season!

Stuff to Ponder About Our Beloved Ducks, and College Football...
According to reports, didn't PSU spend more $$ on NIL than Oregon?! As great as Franklin is as coach, going 1-14 in top 5 matchups is worrisome if I was a donor alumni. Maybe they're using the DC as scape goat.

Could Oregon Football Schedule a Week 0 Game?
Um, a definite pass. Until SOS is recognized by those who make the rankings, we need wins. As a fan, playing a team like 'Bama would be nice. But the B1G schedule of 9 games is enough. Until all conferences play the same number of conference games, I'll take 3 soft OOC games every year. Alternate with Ptld St and the Beavs every other year. Toss in Cal & Stanford once in awhile. UNLV for your Vegas game. Keep it simple.

The B1G Commish Tony Petitti Playoff
Need to stop using bowls for playoffs except maybe semi's and final. That rewards sponsors but not the teams. When the House settlement goes into affect, and too many teams can't keep up with the vast amounts of cash required, perhaps a realignment of CFB will result in nfl lite and ncaa leagues. Then they can reintroduce bowl games.

The House Settlement Will Bring a New NIL Model to College Athletics
Wow. We thought NIL was bad now! It appears the future will be even more chaotic. Without limitation and enforcement there could be no end to athelete compensation. If it was a a true open, fair market you could expect a leveling out at some point. But schools with larger donor base have the clear advantage. I'm not against athelete compensation. But what's fair market value? Who decides? And without a cap, someone with too much $$ and too big of an ego will pay way too much. In the end, we the consumer will suffer. Higher seat costs, higher costs for gear, even higher stadium concession costs. Probably higher streaming and cable too. Think too about the pressure on a family with a kid playing qb now in junior high or hi-school. Pay big bucks for extra coaching cuz he could get a D1 schollie and $1M deal. Demanding playing time. Oy vey. The times, they are a-changin.

WR Portal Transfer Prospect Visiting Oregon This Weekend...
Does anyone know how many current players from Oregon have hit the portal? I can't find a story or info. One article said 22 players were leaving. I didn't think it was that many. Is anyone keeping track? Txs.

Making Sense of Oregon’s Shocking Rose Bowl Loss to Buckeyes
Here are my observations as to why we got beat so badly in the 1st half. 1. We were out-schemed. Our D came out expecting more run plays. They used motion and fakes to pass, pass, pass. Our db's misread almost every play. (Their 2nd td went off our db's hands and was actually pretty good coverage) 2. Our O-line for some reason could do nothing for the run game. We looked totally out matched at the line of scrimmage. Did they have a better game plan? 3. Our offense started flat. I think the time off cooled timing and maybe their D shut our game plan down too quickly. Those first 3 times all ending in punts (which were all terrible for some reason) put us deep in a hole. If the offense had been able to get going it may have helped the defense recover. 4. We weren't able to get a big play to spark us. A big hit, a turnover, a long run or pass...nothing. Until that late drive down by 34. We made a game of it in the 2nd half, but even then we had no run game. No RPO's. Their defense kept us from getting hot and rolling. On that day they were the better team, but for 14 weeks, we were.

Say Can You SEC That You Aren't That Good?
It seems pretty obvious to this observer that $10M is the necessary buy-in now. And with it being legal now, above board, everybody can get in on buying better players. With conference realignment, the best can choose coast-to-coast and still get fam & friends to the game. The days of the SEC controlling the narrative are over.

Well, That Sucks. Post-Game Discussion...
Losses are tough. This one was really tough. It's gonna be a long off season. Proud of our Ducks. But we looked out-coached. Their defense played outstanding. Ours, seemed lost and confused. Gotta keep building, keep believing. Stay strong OBD fans. Now, is it almost August yet?

Offensive PI By Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith: Ever Watch a Bull Frog?
Let's hope they aren't old Pac12 refs. With Cal & Stanford in the ACC, they could easily be!

Offensive PI By Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith: Ever Watch a Bull Frog?
I remember years ago I thought the officiating was particularly good in a bowl game of ours, they were ACC refs. Here's hoping. 🤞
-
Offensive PI By Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith: Ever Watch a Bull Frog?
The officiating is the only area of the game I'm worried about. I've rewatched that game several times and tOSU players hold and arrive early on too many passes. If we get good officiating, Oregon wins. But if we gotta beat the refs too... Here's hoping Dillon has his best game ever!

Uniform Reveal for Rose Bowl!
My first thought was, "why white pants?'. 2nd thought, "if we win, these are my new favorites!" I do like the helmet. As the sun sets on tOSU future, it will look cool on the Duck helmet. Sco Ducks! Beat the Bucknuts!

Season a Success Either Way
Without a doubt it's been a highly successful great season. But. The ultimate goal is still not reached, but it is oh so close. The Natty. Getting this far is great, but it would be disappointing to miss. However, beating tOSU for the 2ND time! in the same season, might make the Natty anticlimactic... ...nah, it won't. We love our Ducks! Just keep winning, baby!

Whoa! The Portal Running Back On Oregon's Radar is VISITING
I say if we have the schollies, do it. A brother can be a strong connection. Right Tez?

16 and 0?
Lanning acknowledged early on he had contacted NFL coaches and others on advice for dealing with a long season. If any team in the playoffs is ready, it has to be the Ducks. A couple thoughts about the media hype about tOSU. They were the preseason favorite and they are in the playoffs. If they win, many sports 'talking heads' will look brilliant. So, that's part of their support. I rewatched the 1st game and decided Oregon didn't play as well on offense as I remembered. Dillon was good but missed some easy stuff. Missed FG, two missed PAT and missing wide open Tez on 4th and goal. That's potentially 12 points. Everyone remembers a 1 pt win that is clouded by a controversial 12 man penalty with homefield advantage. I can understand the hype for tOSU. Also, Oregon slowed tempo pretty much every game in 2nd half with a lead. Was Lanning reducing snap counts? As a result, scores didn't always reflect a blowout win. To the media it looks like we aren't that good. Wanting a Natty so much makes losing after going 13-0 seem like a wasted season. Well it's not. This has been a great run. tOSU is a really good football team. We are glad to play them, we just wish it was the finals and not the quarters. But beating them again will ensure the 1st time wasn't a fluke and will cement us as the best in the B1G. It also will validate coach Lanning as indeed playing chess to the others checkers. Lanning's comment that many guys are hitting their personal best in weights and other training measurables sounds extremely encouraging. Accompany that with extra time for new plays and designs, I'm super excited our guys will be ready. No nervousness for them either. They know what to expect. The Rosebowl is home away from home. We got this.

Official Oregon Anxiety Period Begins...
I get the anxiety. I'm a father. Waiting for my daughter to be born was excruciating. Most of us have been there. But we are exactly where we wanted to be in August. In the playoffs. Sure, playing tOSU in the finals may have been easier to tolerate, but we still would need to beat them. So it shouldn't really matter when we do. I for one can't wait to see this game. It has all the makings of a classic. Two great teams battling it out on the field. Here are a few of my thoughts that reduce my stress about the game. 1. Lanning has shown quick improvement on the coaching decision front. I trust his preparation and leadership. 2. Dillon Gabriel is a calm, poised, experienced leader. He plays his best at the biggest moments. 3. We play at the Rose Bowl. In recent times we have played very well there. Our guys will feel at home. 4. We are as healthy as we've been all year. 5. I think we have better in-game managers and play callers. (Neither Day or Kelly have beaten an Oregon team. Ever) Lastly, just remember we left points on the field last time. They didn't. Oh yeah, and they LOST to Michigan, at home! Trust the process. The team has been building for this all year. They won't disappoint. Let's go Ducks! PS. I too will have some alcohol on hand...just for celebrating of course. 😉

Time to Unleash Oregon’s Upside for the Playoff!
Yes, release the 'Quack'en! Give em 'ell boys! I'm also confident in our coaching staff using the available time to fine tune an appropriate game plan. I think we will win, but this will be one tough, hard fought game. tOSU have played an improved defense since losing to us, especially shutting down explosive plays and passing td's. I think our coaching is better. Our qb is better. Our O-line is better. Our TE's are better weapons. Everything else is a push. Looking forward to reading about all the new plays being diagnosed by Fishduck in Jan. My only concern is the officiating. tOSU gets away with too many holds and P/I on passes, and their O-line holds alot. We, on the other hand, seem to draw flags far too easily. If the officials do a fair and honest job, we should shock the football establishment and win by 2 scores or more, cuz Our coaching is gonna be that good!
