  1. This!! I am a broken record, but I watched these games… Riley, Williams, and OK looked like whiners compensating for their ineptitude by accusing the refs, the opponents, the voters, and everyone else of being unfair. There is no there there. USC managed to find the perfect HC/QB pair to fit into its all-hat-no-cattle culture. I look fwd to Riley/CW/USC being exposed as pac-12 mediocrity for the next 2 seasons. I am a 3rd-generation Duck, and I was brought up to cheer for the Ducks first and the Pac second. So I held my nose and cheered for Darnold to beat Penn in the Rose Bowl. Thank goodness I never have to do that again!!
  2. I’ve turned my hubby into a Duck-in-law. ❤️
  3. Ducks 45. Dawgs 42. Camden Lewis w the walk-off field goal. 🤞
  4. As excited as I am to be able to run this play on offense, I am even more excited by our DBs finally having the size to defend against it.
  5. You read my mind, @Charles Fischer. While Mari was far from perfect, he gave great interviews. I always learned something from him. And at least Chip was funny. The only thing I’ve learned yet from DL’s interviews is that he uses “compete” as a noun. (As a U of O English major, I am allowed to be appalled.) All that said, I appreciate that DL plays things close to the vest, and I still think he gives us a great chance to win.
  6. I love the recognition by the coaches that the cupboards weren’t bare when they arrived. And even better to see the cupboards starting to overflow!
  7. Great pics! What are the giant outer helmets some of the players are wearing?
  8. I just don’t get all the fawning over Riley. He and his teams always come across as whiny and entitled. That’s what makes him such a good match for USC.
  9. We bought our tix for that game the last week of June, so I am biased. Tix aren’t that expensive, so I don’t see any reason for the delay.
  10. The reason I think this survey is BS is Texas anywhere in the top 20. They haven’t been relevant in 30 years. I lived in Austin, and people there didn’t even like Longhorn football.
  11. As @Pennsylvania Duck noticed, not only is OR #1, but they will have a chance to dominate against #s 4, 5, and 7 this year.
  12. I am surprised by this chart to find that the Cristbal years were so poor in rushing. The passing was more obvious, but the rushing was worse.
  13. let’s not forget that tOSU got a full week of practice before the natty bc school wasn’t in session for them, while the dux had to limit practice bc u of o was in session. and let’s not forget darren harrington’s bonehead weed infraction that kept him out of the natty. and let’s not forget that royce freemen, our best runner, didn’t start the game and barely played in the natty for undisclosed reasons. add in the losses of devon allen and ifo after the semi-final game, and one could make a strong argument that the dux team on the field that destroyed FSU could have beaten tOSU.
  14. let’s not forget her 2000/1000/1000 career points/assists/rebounds. i got to witness her 1000th assist for a 3-pointer to Taylor Chavez at UCLA.
  15. i have no idea what the confusion might be, but this didn’t happen. The ducks and Mariota played tOSU for the natty after beating Winston and FSU in the first ever CFP game.
  16. um, why on earth would ucla at autzen be a “probable” loss?? i do call that crazy. i also think byu at autzen is not a probable loss. yes, i think it’s an obvious diss. but i always prefer to be underestimated vs overestimated.
  17. we all have to admit… every spring break that we managed to get some sun, we all fantasized about just staying and not going back. such is life in the PNW. it is why i live in LA now. but my time in eugene was worth it.
  18. i have to say i am surprised by the self-awareness in that article. they actually acknowledged riley left bc he didn’t want to coach in the sec.
  19. i don’t think anyone who saw OK lose to Baylor would be impressed w riley. not that baylor wasn’t good, but riley and team looked whiney and undisciplined. it reminded me of a lot of past usc teams.
  20. riley underperformed at ok. the minute usc announced his hiring, i thought a) riley is a perfect match for usc, b) riley is good for the pac, and c) both usc and riley are going to continue to underperform. win-win
  21. it would have been a dereliction of duty if lanning had not gone after noah sewell out of HS. there had to have been prior contact.
  22. let’s not forget that it was DL who reached out to Mullens. DL wasn’t on RM’s radar. So while we can’t attribute _that_ much brilliance to RM, we can recognize (thanks to this new info re Wilcox’s conditions) that RM did have an uncompromising vision. and my guess is that the reason DL is such a good fit is bc he shared that same vision.
