The destruction of the Pac-12 and the theft of $400m stands alone. It has nothing to do with logging and the men who risk their lives every day to do it for the greater good of society. An industry that provides thousands of living wage jobs. An industry that generates billions for the communities across this country we all call home. And an industry that shows tremendous restraint and responsibility to our land. Truly the greenest industry on the planet with millions of trees planted every year. Not every man comes from a place where he is afforded a college education to increase his value to society and an ability to earn at a high level. Logging is one of those industries that provides exactly that for these men at a tremendous risk to life and limb. Not many options for the less privileged to earn a six figure income. Equating the two situations as equal is misguided in my opinion. I know a lot of folks have strong feelings about both subjects. And thats a good thing. People should be engaged in both subjects. For someone less privledged with a good childhood and strong family resulting in loss of opportunity, this is an industry that keeps them out of poverty and provides a strong future. You will be hard pressed to find any logger whining or playing a victim to their circumstance. Just a bunch of hard working dudes trying to do right in the world with the cards they were delt. If we are going to equate the two. Seems to me that it's the university types, the college boys that are doing the theft and destruction in this comparison.

If I remember right it was second half, late in the game. Don't remember if Ducks were behind at that point or not. Nix scrambled to his right and threw it in the endzone in traffic on the boundry. Tech db caught it but he was ruled out of bounds. Call confirmed on replay but in my opinion should have been a pick and a possible Duck loss. It didn't count but I threw it in there to illustrate the poor decision by Nix. There are so few of them. Nix has been brilliant most of the season. That play and the 4th down to seal it v. Husky are the most agregious imo. Nix had Bryant(?) wide open but he locked on Franklin in double coverage. Incomplete and the rest is history.

New Winner, and NO Tiebreakers for OBD Prediction Contest!
Log Haulin replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I have never won one of these. So in order to rub a little salve on the ol' brused ego, I am going with starters minutes only and the score of 42-0. With a prediction of 45-0... I WIN!!! . Just kidding, congrats Just Ducky. Great victory to be celebrated for days to come (5 to be exact). -
I don't see how Johnathan Smith can stay in Corvallis. I doubt Beavs can afford him long term if they wiff on the next realignment. Should Beavs and cougs win in court and usurp a buttload of cash, they buy a few years grace to try and get into the B12. If they fail Beavus will never be relevant in major college football. Recruiting will drop and they will lose coaches. Mic will be buying first round at that point

Both QB'S have a similar career trajectory. Almost identical. The difference to me is where they have their teams playing. Bo is in position to win a conference title and a CFP invite. Daniels is playing for a NY6 bowl appearance, thats probably unlikely. This is a difficult decision for the voters. Both QB'S are deserving in my book. Compleatly different styles of play this year for these two. Jayden Daniels has to play a more Supeman role than Nix. Something Nix had to do at AU but at Oregon this year he has been a surgeon. The rushing numbers favor Jayden but that is out of necessity. Nix is in complete control of the game when he is out on the field. How many times has Nix manipulated the Defense into giving him the look he wants with his ability to change plays at the LOS? Nix makes very few mistakes. He has one INT that he is solely responsible for. The one Robinson pic'd in the Colorado game. The one V. Cal was on Tez. The Tech one should have been a pic that would have been on Bo, really bad judgment on Bo's part with the game on the line. Jaden Daniels is having a great year. If he wins I will be disapointed but can't really complain about it. Both are having great years and are deserving imo.

You mean like Bo did on 4th down in the Husky game? That loss hangs on Bo as much as anyone.

Ever since the Husky game. I know it was a loss but you could see it, you could feel it. Thats when it changed for me. Oct. 11th was when the Ducks found that next level deep inside themselves. Even in the loss, I believe thats when this team saw themselves as they truely are. They also knew they had a process that would take them there. Every player on this team has fully bought in. Every coach on this team is fully engaged. The standard is clear and anything less is unacceptable to every person who plays a roll in this progr'm. No matter how big or small a roll, they are all held to the standard. It's said above that no team is head and shoulders above, that the NC is wide open for any of the top 6 or 7 teams. When it's all played out and the crown has been won. We just might be looking back at this season and saying the Ducks in 23' were head and shoulders better than every team in the country. So yeah, I can absolutely feel it.

McCaffrey not winning the Heisman was borderline scandalous imo. 8 years later he is talked about as the Heisman race heats up. He has been a topic of the Heisman since 2015. This bodes well for Bo. Nix has been a household name, regardless of success on the field, since his freshman year. Especially in the south. I think everyone, including Bama fans are rooting for the guy. Bo Nix is a great story. He is a great QB and has the numbers on an elite team to support a Heisman win. Dude is probably the most consistent QB in Duck history. I don't see the Ducks having a let down this season aside from the Tech game. Win the next 2 games and go get your trophy Bo. Then go out and win the whole darn thing.

Ducks Must Beat Beavs for Pac Championship Game Participation
Log Haulin replied to HDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Right... quite often sports fans use hyperbolic statements as part of the fan experience. Out of it has been born the art of trash talk. Other descriptors of this type of rhetoric is sh!+ talking, talking smack, and throwing shade. Its actually great fun as one can get very creative with these hyperbolic statements. It has always been a part of the sports experience. There are entire FishDuck threads that uses this type of rhetoric to throw shade at teams like USuC, Fusky and Beavus. When I comment that Ducks are going to punch Beavs in the mouth it is not a literal statement. Of course the Beavs stand a chance. They are a good football team. Side note: i have never been able to eat a whole horse and I have all my arms and legs. -
Kenny Dillingham has nothing but High praise for the Oregon Ducks. He comes across as proud of this Duck team. Dilly played a huge part of who the 23' Ducks are. Dilly knows this is the best team in the country and that Bo Nix is the best player. Dilly should be proud of Bo Nix. He played the biggest role in Bo's development outside of Bo himself. I hope Dilly gets his devils humming quickly. He is a great coach and I am sure he will get them to the top of the B12.

Ducks Must Beat Beavs for Pac Championship Game Participation

Beavs are leaving Autzen chip toothed instead of buck toothed after Ducks punch them in the mouth. Ducks are the best team in the country and in about 6 weeks they will prove it. Beavs don't stand a chance -
I could see the committee putting Bama at 4 over FSU. I doubt they put 2 B1G teams in. If Ducks win the next two contests decisively, Ducks are in imo.
-
At most 3. Prob come in around 13 or 14 would be my guess.
-
Who's we? I don't hate the narrative at all. I just think it is wrong. We will find out in a couple weeks.
-
Fusky has 215 total yards. Penix 11/24. Nix might have won the Heisman tonight.
-
I had to go over to the Texas v. Iowa St. game. Couldn't tolerate Huskys arrogant celebrations.
-
Husky getting help from the refs again. Wow. Offsetting should have been called on that PF. I am speechless
-
I don't think this narrative is right. A lot of people do, I get it. I think the CFP is aching to get Ducks in the CFP. I wouldn't be surprised if Ducks jump FSU, even if they are 12-0 plus acc title. The committee responsibility is the 4 best. They have already used "eye test" with Michigan and tOSU. I get they are undefeated. As Josh Pates MeMaw says, "you ain't what your record says you are". And this is true with FSU, especially with the injuries today. Starting QB and C went down. Ducks look like the Best team in the country. Green and yellow blinders or not. And the stats support it. 12-1 conf winner Ducks get the nod over 13-0 Noles. 1. UGA 2. tOSU 3. UofO 4a. FSU 4b. Bama 4c. Texas

Co-National champs... pfft. Give me a break

This Beavs game is ugly. Wow

Special teams killing Beavus

Charles is going to have a blast digging up Tasty Treats of Trojan Torment to share with the FishDuck community.

I disagree. Take apart both these teams and Ducks are in. Leave no doubt. Embarrassing both Bark Rat and Fusky to end the season as Pac12 champs. It's off to the RoseBowl for 1st round of playoff

Now FSU center goes down
