Stoops coached Okie for 17 seasons, Riley got the keys with Stoops guys. Took OU to playoffs. Bellotti was with Ducks 20 seasons, 6 as OC. Kelly got the keys and UO plays Auburn. Flames out in the NFL, UCLA... Meh! Helf gets the job and we play tOSU. Flames out No guarantees Riley is successful. Kiffin couldn't make it work. Kiffin is a great coach. Crowning Riley is a bit premature.

Riley had a body of work spanning 6 seasons. Stoops had 17 seasons. Most of those seasons 2 or 3 loss seasons. Stoops went undefeated in at least one. Okie will always recruit top 15 and more often than not top 10. Most of Rileys success was with Stoops guys.

All the slobbering over USC and Riley is nauseating. I know I am not the smartest guy in the room, never had to be. But I believe I am right on this one though. Riley is fools gold. Come late November, crows worldwide will need to be put on the endangered list. Looks like they will be served up in historic proportions.

Opening Line for Ducks Opener: Georgia -15
Log Haulin replied to Log Haulin's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Anything under 10ish give the ducks respect in the eyes of the college football world. A ton of unknowns. New coach, healthy, no more Mari-ball. Looking for the upset but 7-10 point loss is still a win. I like it. -

Could Ty Thompson be the No. 3 Quarterback?
Log Haulin replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Coming out of spring I see Bo as the starter. Too much ability and experience for Ty and Butters to overcome. Bo is gifted yet inconsistent at times. I don't know that Lanning is obligated to name a 2 or 3. Starter yes. If Ducks put up sizable lead I could see either backup get plugged in with next man on deck when next opportunity arises. -
I just don't see in Riley what everyone claims him to be. Okie was loaded when LR took control. From his first year to his fourth, Okie trended down. They were about to inplode and Riley knew it. Just one mans opinion. The amount of Duck media coverage in LA, one could argue, rivals Trojan media coverage. Trojan Man won't admit it but I believe the Lanning hire took the wind out of their sails. Secretly they are nervous. Ducks are in USC's head and throwing a party on their dime. SC will be good perhaps. My bet is in three years Riley will be begging Lanning for the OC job, yea, kinda like Kiffin did with Sabin.

Dan Lanning knows the formula to recruit, build programs WWW.ON3.COM After landing four-star OT Josh Conerly late, a closer look at first-year Oregon coach Dan Lanning's hands-on...

I said from the start, Lincoln Riley is a very good coach. He is not what "Experts " are saying he is. Okie was gradually falling each year across the board under Riley. They are a mess now and Riley knew it was coming. USC got a huge bump in recruiting with the hire. That will taper off and digress each year. I view Conerly as the canary in the coal mine. Riley is not USC's savior. Dan Lanning is the real deal in my opinion. It shows in the success he has had in only 4 months. Oregon will be the Pac-12 standard for another decade. Great leaders are recognized from the start. Dan's rapid rise in the coaching ranks proves this. Every Duck fan that reads or posts to OBDF knows it. USC and Washington know it, it's why are they squawking. Utes have a great leader and coach, Don't hear a lot from them, they don't have to chirp. Ducks are the standard and everyone knows it. Go Ducks!!!

Thank You Easter Bunny: Kyler Kasper Commits to Ducks
Log Haulin replied to FamilyofDucks's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great get. This position group is shaping up to potentially be a very strong unit. Easy to forget the talented youth on this team. 70%ish underclassmen. Lanning's 2nd year could be scary good. Get TT coached up and these receivers are going to have a blast. -
Mario Cristobal wants more physicality, accountability from Miami Hurricanes AMP.PALMBEACHPOST.COM The focus Saturday, and most of the spring, was on physicality. Cristobal did not get through a media session... Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Conerly Might Not Start at Oregon this Season
Log Haulin replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Conerly came into the program knowing he is not a starter game 1. Nice backup to have for sure. He will start some games. Lineman don't go unscathed all season. My bet is he will play in every game -
Both these guys will be in Florida next year. Both were back ups on a average to slightly better than average offense. I see FSU and Miami being the schools to beat.

I am a fan and will continue to pump the sunshine until DL throws some shade on it himself. I will know pretty quickly whether he can coach game time or not. Everything up to this point has been great. It's good to be a Duck fan.

Byron Cardwell Ready to Make Us Forget Travis What's-His-Name
Log Haulin replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Cardwell was a 4* and the highest-rated rb in the state of California. As the primary back he could see a huge year. There are some very talented skill guys on the O. With a veteran line and a QB that can make plays down field with his arm, this Offense could surprise a lot of people. -
More Analysis of Kenny Dillingham Offense
Log Haulin replied to cartm25's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Dilly is going to be a rock star with the O-line he has inherited. He has to be excited coming from the train wreck that was FSU line. The talent and experience in the trenches is probably the best KD has had to work with. -
Another Oregon Kid as a Preferred Walk-On Joins the Ducks
Log Haulin replied to FamilyofDucks's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
3* PWO, is this normal for Oregon? A 3* can start and get a free education at dozens of schools across the country. I guess this is a reflection of the respect for this program and staff. Maybe this is normal, I just don't know. -
Why the son of a Buc can be a breakout playmaker at FSU WWW.TAMPABAY.COM Mycah Pittman has the power and muscles of his father. Can he be the playmaking receiver the Seminoles... Looking forward to watching Mycah play next year. Good to see he is thriving at FSU.

So... it's an opinion based on whether or not you play Bama. Lol

Does Oregon Have a New 'Saban' in Dan Lanning?
Log Haulin replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lanning is living life really well, having a great time doing it! Infectious, I don't see why this recruiting staff can't bring in a #3 class. Facilities, a respected program nationally, absolute Dudes on this team already, MC left the cupboard full. three years and the Ducks are in the NC. -
Does Oregon Have a New 'Saban' in Dan Lanning?
Log Haulin replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Idk if Lanning will be the next Saban. I do know it's going to be fun to watch the process as he progresses towards greatness in the years to come. Duck fans will get a front row seat as Bama fan did with Saban. Saban is "The GOAT". Hard to replicate. Those guys stand alone. Jordan, Gretzky, Ruth, Lombardi, Brady... there are greats behind them but few that have captured the imagination as these men did. -

Believe I read somewhere that this is the offense Dilly will install at Oregon.
