There is a ton of talent on this current team. A coaching staff that is capable of developing and using that talent effectively. A progr'm and fan base that is excited and hungry. With a little luck, a few bounces of the ball and Ducks could very well make it into the CFP. Get in the playoff and anything could happen. Optimistic for sure. But hey, I am a fan. Blount force trauma. Dude was a beast. He shouldn't have KO'd Hout, true. Hout shouldn't have gotten in his face either. Under the circumstances, I get it. Due to the ebolishment of mutual combat laws, Hout didn't know any better.

MC made Dan Lanning's job much easier. He showed all of college football that Oregon is a place for the very best players. Lanning needs to build on that. The rest about MC was less than desirable. This new staff has that IT factor the last staff possessed X10. Give them a full recruiting cycle and the last Coach will be long forgotten. Willie who...err... Mario who? Lanning has proven he can develop defensive talent as DC of Georgia. He has the intelligence, passion and competitiveness needed to take Oregon to the top. As everyone is Falling all over themselves about Riley (pfft), Lanning is building a monster in Eugene.

The crowning of the King is what leaves a bad taste. The Emperor's record at Okie was exceptional. But an honest look and you can punch holes in his success. Will $C be really good again? For sure. Have they earned the crown yet?

You might be right. Going off the top of might head here. Thought I heard someone talking about a couple months back. Might have been the last couple years they were 2 loss. Once Stoops guys filtered out Riley failed to make CFP.

Okie got into the playoff as a 2 loss team out of the Big 12. Every invite. It shows the love the "experts" give to Sooner that isn't extended to most schools. Certainly not a 2 loss Oregon. Yea, Riley took Sooner to 3 CFP appearances and got beat every time. He got there with a regular season record that did not deserve an invite. Riley knows Oklahoma is joining the SEC. In the SEC Okie will be a 3 loss team at best year after year. He had to jump to SC if he expected to continue to grow his resume. SC is like Okie, 2 loss with a conf championship and they are in. Oregon, 2 loss and conf championship and it's a new years 6. Riley has put himself in a great situation every time. He should be commended for it. It doesn't make him an elite coach. Sooner hasn't won a title in over 20 years, neither will SC. Oregon will win their first before SC will win their next.

Riley gets a ton of love from the "experts". The guy has only coached bluebloods with some of the best talent available. His performance has been underwhelming considering. Let me see him coach a Oregon State or a Perdue. MC accidently won 10 games and Oregon doesn't have the talent Okie does. I am not impressed with Riley.

I tend to agree that this is fueled by others. There area lot of players with their own motives in the draft game. I don't believe KT lived up to the hype. I, again, put that on coaching. What is a guy like KT doing dropping into pass coverage? Almost felt like he was in pass coverage as much as getting after the QB or RB behind LOS.

Some are questioning KT's heart and effort. Could effect his draft position?

Lanning is going to put Oregon in competition the the big boys of the SEC. 3 years and Ducks are in championship game. If Georgia can get there, Dogs might have a shot at revenge for the loss they are taking next Sept

Dilly will be the first branch of the Lanning coaching tree. First of many to follow. Three years and a title later, and I will root for Dilly as the head coach of a power 5.

I fully expect to have Georgia talent. I think Lanning expects to have Georgia talent. Oregon is as attractive a place as any school in the country. MC proved that. Lanning is determined to take it to the next level. Oregon has had DL's undivided attention for less than a month and look at the results. This dude is just getting started. What Oregon fans are about to experience is something we have never known. Not even under CK. I am having more fun as a Duck fan than I ever have and we haven't even gotten close to game day.

After moving into top 25, watching "get to know" interviews and this, hard to catch my breath. What a GREAT day to be a Duck.
