Anonymous Coaches Show Fear of Dan Lanning
shawnski replied to Log Haulin's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Yeah, this sounds a lot like negative recruiting. If I remember correctly, Belotti, Kelly, Helfrich, and Mari ALL missed out on big time recruits in the NW and OREGON. Whoopdeedoo -

Unbelievable: T&F Coach Robert Johnson Fired

Hope not Lannana was a grifter taking money from UofO, Nike, USA track and field. Using the university as his own personal piggy bank. Also some hints of bribery and corruption? No thanks -
Could Jay Butterfield Thrive in Oregon’s New Offense?
shawnski replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't know Neither TT or Butters really blew me away. In time, one or both might be fine NOTHING like Mariota's first real Spring Game. That bar is high, but it should be Bo Nix is clearly ahead and he's available for 2 seasons. I give him B+ currently. I want an A starter -
Really anything with multiple formations and motion is good. Not the static pistol plunge we've all grown to love
-
Yes, he could play. His junior year was the best. Something like 47 forced fumbles, returned an INT for a TD against Arizona

Four Keys to Oregon Football Beating Georgia
shawnski replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Small things: I believe the game is actually at a neutral site in Atlanta, not Athens, right? I know big difference right? 1) play so the officials can't swing the game. It's happened too many times. Blown calls, mystery penalties - usually not in our favor 2) game management - new head coach. Efficient use of TOs, player and play calling use and rotation 3) Emotions. Big game, lots of new faces. How will they handle that 4) Turn-overs and penalties. Duh 5) Don't hate me... toughness. I know, I know, Mari killed that thing. But Georgia, the crowd, the refs, etc are going to try and bully the Ducks and make them quit. Don't -

shawnski replied to DanLduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If you're a walk-on, with no scholarship, why do you need to abide by transfer rules? This us just stupid Geez the NCAA is an outdated racketeering organization -

WHERE is the Most Inexpensive Place to Retire?
shawnski replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Wife and I are researching right now too. Less than 5 years for us. Anywhere in the south is cheaper. Alabama: doesn't tax pensions, low income tax w/breaks for seniors, 2nd lowest property tax in US, no SS tax, lots of small towns Tennessee: no income tax at all, low property tax, lots of small towns Florida: no income tax Texas: no income tax, property tax is high relatively Other states like Georgia and South Carolina offer great breaks for those 65 and over Almost any southern state has a lower cost of living than oregon One member Jon? Who's big on conference expansion, lives in a small town in South Carolina I believe People are really friendly, we were just there in May. Should have stayed. -
I don't know Cal is pretty innocuous they shouldn't generate that much hate

I like almost anyone else over Hill. Maybe safety with zone responsibilities will play to his strengths? Man to man sure ain't it. I think B. Williams will play at an All Conference level. The rest will depend on scheme and coaching. Maybe a Frosh will surprise like Bassa did?
