The receiver position draws the most brats and it’s not even close. QBs are next.

Ducks Signing National Letter of Intent...Hooray!
Just Ducky replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
At this moment I count 32 new players coming to Eugene. I assume most will be on scholarship. Never was a math wizard but we don’t have room for them all do we? -
Thanks Anne for simplifying it for us.

Bo Nix and Dante Moore: Did Lanning Do it Right?
Just Ducky replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
As I have said before on this site that maybe Bo was having the time of his football life in Eugene and as it turns out he was. Can’t get a gauge on Moore but it seems unlikely he will be a Duck. Our hope should be that TT will make the next step and be a quality back up. If not I’m sure our staff will make the necessary moves to get that guy. If we get our defense shored up and playing solid D next year it should be very exciting season. The news of Bo returning is exactly the news we needed to hear. Go s -
QUAAACK! Khyree Jackson is a Duck...Alabama DB Transfer
Just Ducky replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
There are lots of examples of kids having trouble and get some new scenery which transforms their lives. Hopefully this is one of those. We will know more next spring. In the meantime I’m willing to let the coaches do their job and support their decision 100%. -
QUAAACK! Khyree Jackson is a Duck...Alabama DB Transfer
Just Ducky replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Nice to see the Ducks land some of the wealth of talent that Alabama has. These kids are well coached and are probably itching to get more playing time. I can’t see anything on the downside from this practice. Go S -
If Moore is a true college QB worth all the press he is getting he will get plenty of playing time with the Ducks. If our defensive woes get ironed out there will be some blowout wins next season and Dante will see plenty of helmet time.

Oregon Ducks Football: Can We Trust Dan Lanning?
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
You took the words straight out of my pie hole Mr Kwacker. I’m sure our defense would of been exposed by any of the teams in the playoffs. Although I would have loved a Rose Bowl I think we are better off where we are. I trust Lanning will keep this thing going up the hill. Most importantly we don’t have MarinoO any more and I trust DL to make us forget all about him. -
I guess it is better to sit the bench in sunny California every other game than have a chance at a natty. Moore looks like he may have integrity issues. Not what Lanning or the Ducks needs at the moment.

As I reviewed the 4th quarter of the Civil War. It was clear our defense was in a prevent to win defense, which by the way is played at the end of most nfl games, and playing on their heels. I sure wasn’t expecting that when all we heard from the coaches early spring was how they were going to cause havoc. It was exactly the opposite.

The pack should cancel all games with both schools and let them wallow around trying to fill a schedule with the the likes of Rising slow state and mid evil college. Of coarse weight till about a month before the season starts.

Late-Season Learning Lumps With Lanning and Lupoi
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Yes my wife ( beaver fan ) and I watched the fourth qtr of the Civil War game and there were many problems with the D. The most glaring was how our linebackers were playing on their heels instead of attacking the run gaps giving up chunks of yardage along with horrible tackling, bad combination. Between that, poor play calling, special teams disasters, inability to pick up that critical 4th down, and Bo missing a wide open Fergy for a potential scoring play by throwing it short. It was clear that the Ducks were about to lose. Hard to pick one reason they lost the game when there was many reasons. -
Season Review: Lanning and Lupoi Pull A ‘Hoke’ Job
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It’s easy to understand why our D was so weak. Check out the stats. Our leading tackler was a safety Williams with nearly twice as many tackles as number 2 Noah. Our DBs were getting way too many tackles compared to our front seven. Adding to the problem was opposing QBs had way to much time to throw the ball because of our lack of consistent pressure. DBs can’t cover wide receivers with lots of time to clear even though we had one of the best in the pack. I believe that once DL gets more speed on his edge players and linebackers that can disrupt intermediate routes things will change dramatically. -
Oregon Taking Portal Transfers is VERY Risky Business
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Lots of good points here. I feel sorry for the coaches having to broaden their focus on two different elements like never before. Although I think less research is required on portal players because the track record is already there for the upper class kids. I was expecting this to smooth out a little when the Covid players are gone and also the first time transfer numbers trend downward because of the second time rule. The coaches that get it correct the first time will be the most successful in my mind. -
Big difference Williams no class Mariota all class.

Transfer Portal: Players Ducks Have Offered
Just Ducky replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Don’t see any front seven players listed. That is they area of need in my mind. -
What is Oregon Football’s Standard?
Just Ducky replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Simple for me, win the games your supposed to win and be competitive in the ones your not. So I guess this year can be quantified as a disappointment. Although I like the trajectory. Beating Utah was the bright spot for me this year. Two good teams with injured QBs that played their guts out. -
I too read 300 but who really has the accurate number. It is a large on either way with more to come.

I think Dye was the best linebacker the Ducks have had in quite some time. Even with a busted hand.

Our Ducks won’t look anything like they will next spring so I guess I won’t stress over it till then.

Oregon Names UTSA's Will Stein as Offensive Coordinator
Just Ducky replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree. The ducks would move the ball down the field with a nice flow and when they got into the red zone Dilly would try to get tricky or change the play causing the offensive line to false start and kill or slow the drive. Maybe this guy will do better at that.
