  1. Oregon will loose a lot of money in travel expenses if it jumps and more than likely will never see the playoffs in the two major sports. Lots of student athletes will be forced to leave the school in many other sports. Don’t like college sports turned into professional sports and that is not a good look. Won’t work for the northwest schools that’s for sure IMO.
  2. I guess Danny White, won first 3 fiesta bowls and 2 super bowls plus a Super Bowl mvp, at Arizona State oh and Mark Malone we’re not worth mentioning. This is why I take with a grain of salt what sports writers have to say. I do read them however for a good laugh now and then. Saw Danny play against Oregon State at Civic Stadium along with Ben Malone, Woody Green, and Roy Jefferson back in the day. I believe Woody, a Portland kid, was the leading rusher in the nation that year and rushed for over 1300 yards 3 times at ASU. Easily the best offense I’ve seen from a college football team. I believe ASU was in the WAC at that time. Can’t remember the score but it was a butt kicken. Anyway how do you leave Danny White out.
  3. Hitting is all about confidence and as of this moment the Ducks should be full of it. Part that worries me is our pitching staff capable of holding down OR’s offense. From all indications they are doing enough to accomplish their goal. Let’s hope the dream stays alive. Go s
  4. I think most beaver fans that I know, and the list is long, would rather see the Ducks lose than the Beavs win. Lol
  5. I think more misery is ahead for the la schools in recruiting. The only advantage I see is the money which IMO will not out way the travel aspect that will come with the move. Expenses will also increase with hotel bills, food, and the rest that goes with travel. Ohio State and Michigan will love sitting at home waiting to clobber the travel weary west coast schools. I can see both la schools tossing some sports out the door simply because of travel expenses. There are plenty of schools in the pack that you can go to as a fan and see your team or child play and not have the misery of going through airport lines and sitting there for 3 hours waiting for a flight. I’m sure some mom and dads in la are taking that into consideration when going through the selection process. The la schools will still get the die hard kids but the ones that are on the fence may not pick those traitors and pick a team that will play games closer to home. Oregon I think will take advantage of this situation especially if the la schools struggle this season and in the future. Things might note be all roses in la. We can only hope.
  6. Having a good pitching staff is imperative when you go to regional play. I hope ours can hold up and get thru the first regional. Would be a big step for recruiting next year.
  7. Had a friend in college who was an offensive lineman and his favorite thing was to block DBs downfield. He was around 6’4 310lbs. OUCH.
  8. Thanks Charles and moderators. My urination frequency totally depends on how many IPAs I’ve consumed that evening.
  9. With all the negative press the pack is getting, which I try my best to ignore but is increasingly difficult, this is a great time to be a Duck. Dan and his staff have brought great energy to Eugene and we all hope it turns into success on the field. Autzen is a great place to be on game day. Go s
  10. Unless the defense improves dramatically there probably won’t be a lot of garbage time this season. I think TTs problem is not his physical attributes and weather the mental part can be fixed remains to be seen. MC did more to stop his emotional game than we all think. That all seems so long ago. Let’s face it Ty is not a rookie. IMHO its time to look forward. This staff will probably give Ty the nod and he probably deserves it but is it the best coarse for the future? Probably not. It would be nice to be wrong however.
  11. John is collusion legal in college sports and if it is not can the pack schools left sue the 2 LA schools for collusion and leaving the pack? Is it the same as price fixing, which is illegal but done every day?
  12. It seems so strange to me that the pack is on the edge of disaster and this might be, from top to bottom, the best year for the pack in football that I can remember. There are several teams ranked in the top 25 and it will be a gauntlet to go thru the pack undefeated. The Ducks ,under Lanning, have the potential to be the best ever and this coaching staff must never sleep to achieve a roster we have not seen here before. If not for Spoiled children and leaky Larry I think this conference would have grown into a powerhouse for years to come. This year should be fun to watch for sure. Although doomsday for the the pack might be inevitable I will be the one that hopes and prays it survives. Money is the root of all evil and it sure looks like it will destroy what took many years to develop. Go s
  13. Watch the unions jump in and take college sports down another notch. The end of college sports may be closer than we think. Like it or not sports are an incentive for a lot of students to pick a school even if they are there to study. Look out!!!
  14. With the Ducks ability to move the ball it would be nice to have a punter that can pin the opponents deep in their own territory. This would help a defense that really couldn’t stop much last season. Giving our offense more opportunities to move the ball is extremely important this season. A quality punter can’t hurt.
  15. Can’t teach speed and this kid has it. Be a great addition to track and football. Speed kills.
  16. Nothing surprises me any more.
  17. I guess we were all pretty much baffled at how bad our front seven was last year. Lots of star power with no results. Hard for me to blame the coaches when our linebackers were totally out of position making it to easy on the opposing offense to gain yardage at will and our lineman getting very little pressure on the QB. Plus lack of effort. Last years defense was the worst defense I can remember in Eugene and I can’t wait to wash that memory out of my head. Opposing coaches were licking their chops on 3rd and 4th down. We played defense on our heels pretty much all the time. The Beavs made us look like high school players. Our schedule is a tough one this year and I am confident that our offense has the skill to win every game. If our defense can improve into a top 30 defense then I think we will witness a very enjoyable season. Go s
  18. Expect more of this now that the 2 wanna be schools are leaving the pack.
  19. Good to see another Texas kid in the fold. Nice solid start for the Ducks coaching staff. I hope we can get more studs in the front seven. Badly needed.
  20. West Linn has been turning out studs since the 60’s. Hope it continues. Everyone remember Clark Hoss, to bad he chose the Beavs.
  21. The two la schools are gone so I see no reason not to include SDSU in the pack. I believe in football they have won more games against the pack the last 10 years than the pack have won. It has the potential of keeping some of the fair weather recruits in the pack and gives a California presence that is needed desperately. If this doesn’t get accomplished I consider this a huge failure by GK.
  22. I already made the call but no one would listen to me.
