Just Ducky

I posted on this topic earlier in the year and the Ducks have improved quite a bit since that time. Great to see for sure.

MarinoOs offensive sets weren’t the problem. Many teams have used pistol for some success in the past. However; MarinoOs conservative play calling is what killed the offense before the ball was even snapped. We all knew what was coming and so did the opponents. That’s what left the sour taste in our mouths. Any $200 DC could outsmart that. Just my opinion.

The Beavs will be a tougher out next season that’s for sure.

Pleasantly surprised with Klemm . Just proves to me it was more a Matt Canada problem in Pittsburgh with play calling than Klemms offensive line coaching.

Their is talent for sure but comes with great risk. Built like a wrecking ball and probably way he gets injured.

I agree with Happy the biggest winner is our coaches. Relentless describes them perfectly. If our players can play as hard as these coaches recruit we are in for a special treat in the years to come. Next is the fans. We deserve something like this after several years of slick and MarinoO giving hope and then bailing on us and the players. Absolutely classless. Last and certainly not least is the players. Getting to come to Eugene and the Willamette valley where desert, snow, and one of the most beautiful coast lines in the US are all 2 hours or less away. And then there is the experience of playing sports at the best place in the US. With so many quality programs in all sports to spend their idle time watching how fun for a young adult. We definitely don’t need kids creating distractions such as this.

I wonder if any of pogo stick kids are going to college for an education.

The receiver position draws the most brats and it’s not even close. QBs are next.

At this moment I count 32 new players coming to Eugene. I assume most will be on scholarship. Never was a math wizard but we don’t have room for them all do we?

Trust me DL knew who he didn’t want to keep and who he thought might be coming in. There is not room for them all. DL, I am sure he was honest with his players and advised them accordingly. There will be more to come.

As I have said before on this site that maybe Bo was having the time of his football life in Eugene and as it turns out he was. Can’t get a gauge on Moore but it seems unlikely he will be a Duck. Our hope should be that TT will make the next step and be a quality back up. If not I’m sure our staff will make the necessary moves to get that guy. If we get our defense shored up and playing solid D next year it should be very exciting season. The news of Bo returning is exactly the news we needed to hear. Go s

There are lots of examples of kids having trouble and get some new scenery which transforms their lives. Hopefully this is one of those. We will know more next spring. In the meantime I’m willing to let the coaches do their job and support their decision 100%.

Nice to see the Ducks land some of the wealth of talent that Alabama has. These kids are well coached and are probably itching to get more playing time. I can’t see anything on the downside from this practice. Go S

If Moore is a true college QB worth all the press he is getting he will get plenty of playing time with the Ducks. If our defensive woes get ironed out there will be some blowout wins next season and Dante will see plenty of helmet time.

You took the words straight out of my pie hole Mr Kwacker. I’m sure our defense would of been exposed by any of the teams in the playoffs. Although I would have loved a Rose Bowl I think we are better off where we are. I trust Lanning will keep this thing going up the hill. Most importantly we don’t have MarinoO any more and I trust DL to make us forget all about him.

I guess it is better to sit the bench in sunny California every other game than have a chance at a natty. Moore looks like he may have integrity issues. Not what Lanning or the Ducks needs at the moment.

As I reviewed the 4th quarter of the Civil War. It was clear our defense was in a prevent to win defense, which by the way is played at the end of most nfl games, and playing on their heels. I sure wasn’t expecting that when all we heard from the coaches early spring was how they were going to cause havoc. It was exactly the opposite.

The pack should cancel all games with both schools and let them wallow around trying to fill a schedule with the the likes of Rising slow state and mid evil college. Of coarse weight till about a month before the season starts.

Yes my wife ( beaver fan ) and I watched the fourth qtr of the Civil War game and there were many problems with the D. The most glaring was how our linebackers were playing on their heels instead of attacking the run gaps giving up chunks of yardage along with horrible tackling, bad combination. Between that, poor play calling, special teams disasters, inability to pick up that critical 4th down, and Bo missing a wide open Fergy for a potential scoring play by throwing it short. It was clear that the Ducks were about to lose. Hard to pick one reason they lost the game when there was many reasons.

It’s easy to understand why our D was so weak. Check out the stats. Our leading tackler was a safety Williams with nearly twice as many tackles as number 2 Noah. Our DBs were getting way too many tackles compared to our front seven. Adding to the problem was opposing QBs had way to much time to throw the ball because of our lack of consistent pressure. DBs can’t cover wide receivers with lots of time to clear even though we had one of the best in the pack. I believe that once DL gets more speed on his edge players and linebackers that can disrupt intermediate routes things will change dramatically.

I thought the ladies had it but it slipped away. Too much depth In Louisville’s front line. Great season Congratulations to our lady Ducks.
