  1. I second that emotion!
  2. I think I broke the world record for holding one's breath for most of the second half of that game! I thought maybe the hacky-sack interception was going to be the difference, but the Ducks came to life and charged back. Whew! And Go Ducks!
  3. I hope that due to a large fourth quarter lead we get to see lots of backups get their chance and to excel when they do.
  4. It's a Wonderful Life is one of 6 Christmas movies I watch every year.
  5. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays/Joyous Solstice to all! I'll be celebrating tomorrow, when my daughter and S-I-L can join me.
  6. It could be much louder if only everyone would cheer. I sit in Section 35, Row 43, and while I can hear people in the upper part of the section cheering, most of those around me don't cheer, or clap, or make any noise--except after a touchdown.
  7. Former Oregon Ducks running Byron Cardwell Jr. signs with Cal WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Cardwell, who entered the transfer portal earlier this month, signed with Cal on Wednesday.
  8. Sounds now as if he has actually signed. 12. One big difference to me is that my feelings about college football are in danger of drifting toward the feelings I have about college basketball, where it is so rare to have a player for 4 years, so we don't really get to know the teams the way we used to. I used to feel as if I knew all the players, or at least most of them, including 3rd and 4th stringers. Now, not so much.
  13. Yes, Oregon has done all right will some walk-ons in the past, such as Jed Weaver and Wes Mallard, both of whom also went on to the pros.
  14. I still have a soft spot in my heart for the 3-star players who can play well and/or be coached up to play well. Oregon's done quite all right with some 3 stars in the past.
  15. To be fair, I don't think we really know the status of Moore's ego. I think it's possible he just wanted a trip to UCLA. Or, even if he was/is considering going there, he is only 18 and at that age a tendency to keep one's options open is not uncommon.
  16. We usually don't know until 1-4 years later how good a 5-star (or any star) recruit is going to turn to be in the college level. Onward.
  17. I wish I could remember to bookmark, because I so often think I remember something, but maybe I don't. In this case, I thought at the beginning of the season a concern was that the defense was not going to be particularly good. Also, in the 2021 season, Georgia lost to Alabama 24-41, but then beat the Tide in the CFP Championship 33-18, so presumably DL learned something, made changes between those two games. Keeping my fingers crossed that DL and some new players will produce a much-improved defense next year.
  18. Mike Leach suffers heart attack, situation dire for Mississippi State football coach | Sources WWW.CLARIONLEDGER.COM Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach suffered a heart attack at his home, went without oxygen for several minutes and is still...
  19. I can't believe Leach said those things! Well, I can, but I don't want to.
  20. Charles, you are amazing the way you have worked so hard to produce and monitor such a wonderful site! I hope you realize how much you and all your efforts are appreciated. Every once in a great while I check an un-named site consisting of persons who were not content to obey the rules here, and I can say that now they seem to have very little to say, as not much at all goes on there. So, it would seem, polite actually wins out over rude.
  21. In addition to an improved defense next year (and a good-to-great qb), I'm hoping to see an improved special teams unit. A kicker with the power and distance of Gus the Mule would be nice for starters. Improvements on kickoff and punt coverages, and kickoff and punt returns (though I'm fine with a fair catch, when it applies, that gets us to the 25 yard line) would be great too.
  22. Have the boosters agreed to cough up the promised $5 million a year for Sanders yet?
