  1. Dante was a 4 year starter in high school. He helped lead his team to the state championship three times, and the team won two titles in their division. As far as I can see from his high school highlights they play 11 man football. Any last minute drive requires an extraordinary team effort. I feel comfortable giving him the ball. When he is done at Oregon he will probably be playing on Sundays.
  2. “The Bull Don’t Care”, and today we are the F….ing Bull. Lanning is a master at motivating these guys…
  3. Let’s see…our vanilla offense will run, or throw out of the Shotgun, pistol, or under center. Depending on the down we will go empty backfield, multiple RB’s, trips, or quad receiver overloads, and multiple TE sets. I have to wonder what Stein considers a complicated offense.
  4. Definitely different. First two games were fun to watch this year, and last year the first two were somewhat painful. As far as I can tell, we have an NFL caliber QB, RBs, WR’s, TE, and OL. Then on defense…NFL caliber DE’s, DT’s, LB’s, CB’s, and S. This team drips with talent, and they play hard for each other. I think that I really like that we will be the underdog going to Penn State in a few weeks. All the pressure will be on them to prove that they can beat a CFP caliber team.
  5. Who knows what the financial future holds. I do know the costs of competing in college sports are sky rocketing upward, along with inflation. At some point, the financials will be an issue, and Oregon will not be the only one struggling to balance an athletic budget each year. I can’t worry about what might happen. We all face challenges, and I am sure Oregon will continue to be known as “the Fighting Ducks”, far into the future.
  6. Never follow a coaching legend. Unless, they pay you $10 million/year, with a $70 million buyout….lol
  7. I really doubt true freshman know the playbook better than Hughes. Probably a disciplinary issue.
  8. One thing that was also of note, with so many players rotating into our offense. No turnovers!!
  9. Luke Moga was the QB on that play. It was 52 - 6 at that point, and the Ducks are burning clock. It is another formation that future opponents will need to review. That formation makes it difficult for defensive backs to see the hand off, and then react to the running back. More of an educated guess on their part.
  10. ESPN was the only game in town decades ago. ESPN is slowly sinking, competition has decreased viewership, and they rely heavily on college football to float their boat. They will be all in on SEC football, and the CFP, because that pays their bills. They will always tout the SEC, before others, for as long as they hold the contract to show SEC sports content. It is all about who pays their bills.
  11. Standing in line to get an overpriced beer when the Duck lost his head. The Duck losing his noggin is not very high on the “misery index” when you compare it to DeBoer’s buyout of $70 million. If they choose to shell out the $$$ for a buyout, the coaching carousel starts, and I think many coaches would be reluctant to jump on. Every fan base in the nation is enjoying the current misery of Bama fans.
  12. The coaches did what they needed to do on offense. Dante Moore needed passing reps, and it was good to have him run a two minute offense in the game. Was it needed? Not really. Stein mentioned that because the talent is different this year vs. last year, his play calling would change. Having a QB, RBs, and receivers that can attack all levels of the field is important. We have the ability to play a smash mouth type running game, or switch to a personnel package that can spread the field, and attack the edges, or downfield. I think Stein is trying to see what our players can do in these early games, and then use players that create match up problems against better defensive competition.
  13. I like Dante’s quick release…he can get a pass off in a crowded backfield when needed. He was accurate throwing from the pocket, and at least one pass while rolling out.
  14. Don’t run our starting QB against Montana State. That s my only rant.
  15. Ba ba fans are crying in their beers. The SEC ( we are the best) beacon is getting dim.
  16. Haven’t you all realized the fix is in. Better rack up some points today.
  17. Sometimes you need to walk the other way…DUMB!!!
  18. Muddies the betting line...not the outcome.
  19. Ever been to Nebraska? I Hunted on a ranch near the Dismal River lodge in the Sand Hills years ago. Former NFL players Joe Jurevicius, and John Howell have land available, and run Dismal River outfitters. Mullen, Nebraska is the closest town, population 465. Unique topography, but the phrase, let’s all go vacation in Nebraska isn’t something I hear very often.
  20. Well said. Dante Moore and our defense will determine how far we go this year.
  21. 50/50…but, even sections are yellow
  22. Simple. He has money, and she spends it. It is the dumb people with money syndrome.
