  1. What a surprise!!! Can’t give away tickets for the predictable offense that the HC swears will win games when he finally gets “his” style of recruits on the field. Don’t hold your breath Miami.
  2. Benny’s kids have found out they were too slow to grab a chair when the music stopped. The rodents applaud themselves as the “little engine that could”, but that folktale teaches kids that optimism AND hard work can pay off. They are laughably optimistic, but reality has punched them squarely in the face regarding how others perceive their overall worth. Their hopes rest on the abilities of attorneys stealing $$$$ from schools that propped them up for years. I don’t know how that will end, but in the world of right and wrong…it still theft at its highest level.
  3. There are definitely websites that use pop up ads that make them virtually unusable. Just touching the screen to scroll should not create chaos for the viewer of an article. I have given up on trying to read many articles just because of the advertising pop ups. I make it a point to never buy what is being advertised because of the mental anguish…lol I don’t mind scrolling. However, I hate being constantly jettisoned to another website if a pop up ad is accidentally touched, and the instability of the website that they create.
  4. Hard to believe that a defense can be that bad. The team looks like they quit on their coach. One thing for certain is that it will take a lot of NIL $$$ to sign any highly touted defensive recruit at USC. Their boosters have already whiffed on buying a highly touted coach. Are they willing to reach deeper into their pockets and try to buy a team for their overpaid coach?
  5. Players are simply demonstrating the physicality that their coach insists will win games. Watching Mario field tough questions after a loss of this type is very entertaining. He always has that knitted brow look and never has good answers. I honestly don’t understand how he recruits so well.
  6. The Cougs are on a roll. 42 -7 before the half. The free fall of Colorado started at Autzen. They found out quickly that they need a lot more substance and less trash talk to play big boy football.
  7. Not sport related at all…just a continuation of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles…John Candy working with Steve Martin to create one of the most classic comedy scenes in movie history. Always a good movie to watch this time of year…
  8. A top QB certainly helps make a coaches job easier. In my opinion, Mario gets big money from Miami primarily because Justin Herbert had the talent to overcome a very predictable offense. Coach Stein gets attention because Bo Nix is currently killing it. The question I have is can Stein duplicate this level of success with an inexperienced QB? If Stein does that, then he earns a spot amongst the top OC’s in Oregon history.
  9. There are over 250 division 1 colleges. There are about 25 each year that are able to fully fund their athletic departments budget. College athletics generates billions of dollars, with billions of dollars of expenses. There is an economic impact associated with that type of money movement. Personally, I believe giving $30million to OSU is a big rock being thrown to a drowning man. I certainly would not give them the monies out of compassion. It is 100% a business decision. But, I am willing to listen to what they project that those monies will do for them and make a decision on facts and projections of future revenues.
  10. Those statements were made about Oregon when I attended the University. The beginning of the Rich Brooks era of football was very sketchy at best. We could beat Portland State and the Rodents…that was pretty much it for a few years. Our first bowl game game in almost thirty years was the independence bowl in 1989 and we were ecstatic to get the invite. OSU is a State institution, first and foremost, letting it drown does not help the state of Oregon. At times there is a need to help the neighbor, even though you may not like them. I think the business decision comes down to what $30 million does for OSU, and is there some type of return that can be expected, or are we just throwing a heavy rock to a drowning man?
  11. Oregon is a great destination for a coach, look at the commitment that has been made to top notch facilities and the pursuit of excellence. However, it seems so unreal to watch the PAC implode. Not too sure it will really register until the start of next year. Unfortunately, Otegon was forced to make a decision that most did not want to make. Moving to the BIG is more $$$$, and better exposure to a national audience, which benefits recruiting. The downside is the travel and late season weather in some of these states for football. All the other sports that Oregon competes in are a scheduling nightmare for a student/athlete. Nothing like a 4 to 5 hour flight followed by a 1 or 2 hour bus ride in winter conditions to be in peak condition to play 40 minutes of basketball. Beware of those that make money their main focus when making decisions, such as, in this case blowing up the PAC 12 in the pursuit of making “the bottom line” appear more attractive…(that is you ucla) Foggy, and blurred lenses are common for those that go down this path.
  12. We have many talented freshman that are gaining in game experience this year. What a huge benefit for our future. Cornerback is one of the most difficult positions on defense, especially with all the QB talent that is in the PAC 12. It always seems to take one or two years to get young corners up to speed. Speaking of speed, Roderick is a two sport athlete that owns the California high school record in the 100 meters with a time of 10.14, and won the state championship with a meet record time of 10.2. He plans on running for our track team as well. It will be fun to watch his progress in football and on the track.
  13. I never got a chance to watch him play this year. I do think that he may have been thrown into the fire at UCLA. If he does go into the portal then I am sure our coaches will have appraised his abilities from this years video tape. If the coaches think he has a strong upside, then I think you could bring him in and let him compete for the position against everyone else. If he chose to do that, then I would at least respect his competitive nature. Let the cream rise to the top.
  14. Interesting point. Those teams opted to go all in on their coaching hires. AtM boosters are now banking on the next coach to resurrect their program. AtM invested stupid amounts of NIL money on recruits and figured that was going to be the short cut to success. Actually glad that “buying” a team has failed. Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it makes being miserable easier.
  15. Every time I see slick Willy I get somewhat nauseated. He chased the golden ring and subsequently ended up being discarded to the coaching trash heap. It sure would be interesting to hear players speak candidly that played under both Cristobal and Lanning. There are obvious differences to the fans that have watched the style of play, but I would love to hear their perspective on the differences. To me it is obvious that Lanning has a much higher football IQ for today’s college game and uses his key players so much better.
  16. From the view of an agent, Dan Lanning is a hot commodity. This is a dream client and his agent knows that Oregon will get a bump in media revenue when they go to the BIG. Dan will get his money no matter whether he stays, or goes elsewhere. It really comes down to DL’s personal goals and family interests. In the college football world I think that you should never take for granted that one of your top employee’s is a happy employee. However, an employer can’t have a gun held to their head every time another opportunity arises. Dan has a great opportunity to win a National title at Oregon. Oregon will be competitive with contract negotiations, NIL money and other resources. If that isn’t enough, then what is enough?
  17. Perfect article. It would have been dramatic to watch the Ducks beat an unbeaten USC on Saturday. But, I have to agree that watching their team and their fan support implode this season has been quite satisfying.
  18. I would walk around campus. Many changes over the years. Hayward field might be open. Just ask a few students what they would suggest as far as any bars are concerned. They will know…lol
  19. The unrealistic trojan boy fans have been brought back to reality. They payed big bucks to bring in LR and one of his QBs. LR made enough to buy himself a mini-mansion and settled into the LA lifestyle for a run at National prominence. The media loved it, the fans loved it. The fans had dreams… Those dreams vanished once their 2023 defense stepped onto the field.
  20. The game will be won at the line of scrimmage. Anyone see our depth on both sides of the line giving Cal a chance? Turnovers by the Ducks will be the only thing that would keep this game close. There is a reason that the Ducks are favored and the people who create the betting lines are not in the habit of losing their clients huge sums of money by creating unrealistic spreads.
  21. Oregon was in a very vulnerable position after losing our No O coach. (Btw…thank you once again Miami) Justin Wilcox is a solid DC, and it would have been 100% an emotional decision to hire him away from Cal as our HC. The braintrust at Oregon decided to go with the potential of a young man on the rise, and he hit the ground running. Because of the attention DL is garnering already there will definitely be significant job offers from other institutions. Isn’t that what agents dream about? Oregon will need to be competitive with future contract negotiations to keep DL as our HC. However, I also would like to think that there is no reason for him to leave Oregon. Of course there is always…
  22. The pass and fingertip catch by TFerg squashed any potential for Utah to gain momentum. One of the plays of the game in my opinion. After that they had nothing.
  23. This series of videos is always worthwhile.
  24. I always want all of our recruits to be successful, or at least obtain their degree. If he is choosing to enter the transfer portal then good luck. Many of our backup players could start on other teams, but the percentage of players who enter the portal versus those that get picked up by another team seems rather low. If he transfers the positive side is that additional space is created for the coaches to recruit, or tap into the portal if necessary.
  25. Utah…The land that time forgot. Some drop dead gorgeous scenery in Utah, but it is one of those “nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there” states for me. For those that have off-road toys, it has some outstanding places to use and abuse that type of machinery. As far as their fans, always fun to watch the stands empty out because they know that they have zero percent chance to even make it close.
