  1. So what uniforms would you want to see them wear? We wore black jerseys and pants, with green helmets for the BIG championship game. Can’t be wearing those again for this game. How about the green jerseys, pants, and the green helmets.
  2. Unfortunately, I don’t see Portland investing much of anything into the Moda center/Rose Garden anytime soon. Businesses have left the downtown core area, and vacancy rates in commercial spaces are at an all time high. The city “leaders” are faced with a $100 million budget shortfall. Replacing businesses that have relocated, or simply closed their doors will not be that easy. Good news for local NBA fans. The team is young and their potential looks better than it has for several years.
  3. “It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward” Rocky Balboa My hope for these kids is that they finish their education, and get themselves on track for life beyond football. I am sure that there are many resources available to the players. Although, I think they have to want, and accept guidance, for it to work in most cases.
  4. If Bear has a solid season then the video seems like a good advertisement for transfer portal players. A’Mauri Washington, Bear Alexander, Matayo, Tuioti, Purchase, D Jackson, E Rushing, Boettcher…seems like we have the foundation of a solid defensive unit. DB’s will have some growing pains, but overall looks good to me.
  5. https://www.addictedtoquack.com/2025/6/21/24453107/oregon-ducks-football-new-indoor-facility-update-06-2025 Not much help, but shows where they were in June.
  6. Good question. DG has been successful everywhere he plays. Because of his size there are doubts whether his game translates to the NFL. My Duck sense (I am a total homer) tells me that he gets his shot, and becomes a starter. His success will probably depend upon whether he has an offensive line that gives him time to settle into the role.
  7. Actually, Colt was already using heroin in high school. I knew the AD at Hillsboro High, and he stated that he truly hoped Colt could stay away from the drugs, alcohol, and trouble. The guy was a tremendous athlete, a man against boys at the high school level.
  8. I think the OL dictates whether they cover the spread. There may be some issues, but they should be on the field long enough to get them figured out. I think the Ducks could run 75% of the time and win this game, but our QB needs the passing reps.
  9. The metrics that Peyton uses make a lot of sense. An NFL QB needs to be able to win games, but most importantly not lose games with bad decisions.
  10. Any time I read his name I feel like I need to go wash my hands. I feel that Duck fans were amused that the self promoter fell flat on his face at his dream school. Be careful what you wish for…
  11. I could have trained Barry Sanders and he still would have had similar results. He was the most elusive RB to ever play the game. Have watched the following many times…
  12. Impressive, the number of fan bases that get their undies all bunched up over Oregon is now officially coast to coast.
  13. The old adage, “The Best offense is a good defense”, comes to mind. Unfortunately, we don’t live in utopia, and being proactive to minimize known threats saves lives. For anyone who served in our military services…. Thank You.
  14. I find it amusing that we constantly live in their heads. At some point their fans need to realize that they need better coaching and players. They are now throwing around money, and are accumulating talent, good for them. They really should be asking themselves whether Riley is the guy to turn all the money into a championship team. From what I can see, the longer he stays, the worse they get.
  15. Notre Dame football is an army of one. Oregon’s viewership numbers are many times in the same ballpark when nationally televised. Therefore, when you add all the other Marquee names in the BIG, Notre Dame can go kick dirt. NBC keeps them afloat, but to keep their contract, they have to schedule games that are somewhat interesting. I rarely watch them play. They always seem over-rated. Ranking sports teams for play-off berths is always subjective. Too many variables impact a football teams performance, weather, injuries, etc. Make the playoff seeding as fair as possible, and play ball.
  16. As a fan, I would always like the inside information on battles for starting position, but I trust the process. I think there are plenty of reps available in practice for two players. The pressure of competing for a position is nothing new, and you want a young QB to practice under pressure, while demonstrating that they are also a leader, when they have the field. They always will need to have at least 2 QB’s ready to go on any given game day.
  17. I have to think most of the SUC fans can’t be happy about the money they paid for Riley, especially when you look at his results. Each season his win/loss record gets worse. SUC dished out big money for a used Lincoln, only to find out it has engine trouble. Contrast that to Oregon, we took a calculated risk on a young energetic coach that wants to outwork the competition. Lanning surrounded himself with a young like minded staff, and it is obvious it carried over to the players. SUC is throwing around money, but is it being used effectively? Compare the atmosphere surrounding the team in Smog town to Eugene. Must win vs. let’s go out and take a run at the title again …only this time with a few of SUCs top lineman…lol
  18. We have a pretty solid list of coaches. Melyssa Lombardi deserves accolades for resurrecting the program. However, I did notice that Kelly Graves contract is through the end of this upcoming season. If the team fails to improve this year is a coaching change on the horizon?
  19. The next headline should be that because of USC’s new football valuation inflating values in South Central LA, the area has become a hot bed for crime and homeless issues. Oh wait, that isn’t anything new.
  20. Just maybe we have a young enough team that nobody told them they were not supposed to beat favored teams. We have speed, and size, add a little discipline and luck, and we can roll with most teams. I think we have solid talent, but we need some players to step up into starting roles and hold their ground on defense.
  21. Anytime you disrupt an offensive lines interior blocking scheme you create many opportunities for the MINT defense. The 3 - 4 defense is at it’s finest when you have a nose guard that can man handle the center, and require an OL to double team him. Can the “Bear” wreak havoc in the middle? That probably determines how we handle some of our top rated opponents this season. Our defense needs to play well. We don’t need our young QB to feel that they need to play “hero” ball early in the season.
  22. The money being spent for a winning college football team is crazy. Apparently, the wealthy, and Corporate America, need an immediate intervention. They are asking for someone to impose a subjective NIL “salary cap” to save them from themselves. Once a collective secures the commitment of a 5* recruit with a stupidly priced NIL contract offer, the collective is expected to continue to offer millions to kids just out of high school. It’s an addiction, and we all are wondering when someone finally intervenes. Whether we like it, or not, sports entertainment is BIG business.
  23. Golf brings out the best and worst of some people. A private club is owned by the membership, and professional golfers are guests. It would be similar to going into someone’s home and destroying their property. A lack of self control is not a good sign for longevity as a professional. Controlling emotions is a large part of playing at a high level.
  24. I think Nike has had some hits and misses with Oregon uniforms. Trying to hit refresh over the course of a few decades is never that easy. If the players love the combos, and all the swag that goes with the various options, then keep it rolling. Nike wrestled the NFL contract away from Reebok years ago, and Oregon football definitely played a role in helping them. I think the old saying that you shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds you probably is applicable.
