  1. Georgia. I want to see if the Ducks have closed the gap.
  2. Nope. I’m a Gonzaga basketball fan. I’ve been to this dance before. 2021 Final Four against Baylor. Truth be told I saw this coming. There was too much hype for Oregon and way too much disrespect for Washington. It played right into DeBoer’s hands. His motivational speech wrote itself.
  3. For all we say about Mario, he never lost to Petersen.
  4. I made a Costco run and am now watching the SEC Championship game. I like good football, so I’m enjoying it. However, Bama is totally dominating UGA’s defense.
  5. Another question to ponder is did the coaching staff change up the play calling signals? They already played this year so if WA got a feel for their signals then all’s fair. The reason I mention this is they always seemed to be one step ahead of the Ducks.
  6. If you look at the top 11 right now it’s all SEC and B1G except for FSU. Oregon will have to beat a couple of good teams, but the future playoffs aren’t going to be almost unattainable like the past.
  7. I’m pretty sure we’re going to see what the Ducks have with Ty during the Fiesta Bowl. If they end up playing Bama or Penn State or another good defensive team it may not go well. It all depends on who declares for the NFL and who transfers.
  8. No. Oregon has a Washington problem. Much like their Stanford problem of the early 2010’s. They don’t match up well with potent passing offenses. We just didn’t know it because there are no other potent passing offenses that we play besides Washington. USC has a great QB and a couple of decent WR’s, but no defense and no OL. I have a feeling we would’ve had problems with Arizona had we played them.
  9. It looks like the Ducks have their first transfer portal casualty. I expect many more if they’re going to sign top 10 classes. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/oregon-wide-receiver-ashton-cozart-plans-to-enter-transfer-portal
  10. Troy Calhoun would definitely resurrect the Pettibone days with his offense. He can bring Ian Shields in from Minot State to run his offense.
  11. Colorado has lost 3 commandments in as many days. They also had a coach resign. Why do you think it is? Some say the recruits fear Deion is leaving and some say they don’t like what he said about NIL. That he’s not handling out money to just sign with him. While these theories might be true, I have another one. Deion has said and shown that he’s willing to make wholesale changes to his roster to win. I think recruits want more security than he’s offering. There seems to be pressure to develop immediately or be replaced. He recruited a new O-Line for this season and he’s already said he needs to replace them. I think this could be a cautionary tale of relying on the transfer portal too much. It’s good for plugging gaps, but mass changes every year could scare off high school recruits.
  12. I would expect to see TVD go to SMU to reunite with the coach who helped him to become a Freshman sensation.
  13. LV and LA are both going to host opening weekend games in their venues in the near future. Just like the one’s in Atlanta and Arlington. Oregon and USC would probably balk at a regular season game there because home field advantage is going to be crucial in the B1G. There’s no benefit to either team.
  14. If Houston doesn’t jump on Gary Patterson then they need to reevaluate whether or not they want to continue having a football team. He wants to be a HC again and he’s been helping Sark as a special assistant at Texas.
  15. The regular season winner is 7-1 in the championship game. The only team to avenge their regular season loss? The 2014 Oregon Ducks. I actually went to the regular season game that year against Arizona. That was a weird game. Dropped passes, stupid penalty calls, etc. Arizona’s QB even caught his own batted pass and ran it for a first down on 3rd and long. Mariota was also still gimpy from the WSU game two weeks prior. I was at that game in Pullman and saw him limping on the sideline after a run in the 4th quarter. Helfrich limited him during the Arizona game because he never really ran unless he was avoiding pressure.
  16. Yes. Go Gators. I saw them play against USC East this year. They have a WR who is amazing, but their defense can give up points in a short amount of time.
  17. Washington actually reminds me of the 2014 FSU Seminoles. Undefeated, but with a bunch of close wins. Let’s hope it all come crashing down courtesy of OBD like it did back in the 2015 Rose Bowl.
  18. Not a good look for Bama in the eyes of the committee. They may have got caught looking ahead to UGA.
  19. A one loss P5 conference champion has never been beaten out of a playoff spot by a one loss P5 non-conference champion. When Bama, UGA, and OSU/TCU went as non -conference champions it was because the other conferences had 2-loss champs. The BCS era was a little different. Oklahoma State did get bumped by a one loss Bama team in 2011.
  20. Bama’s not looking too hot either. They both still might orchestrate easy wins but neither team looks good.
  21. The fact that Bo was in didn’t make it seem all that conservative, but I thought it was a classy call.
  22. Some guys just need the first team reps to be effective. I think we’ll see the real Ty when he’s the starter. It could be good or bad. However, he has to win the job first.
  23. One of my favorite rivalries is no longer played which should be a cautionary tale because a lot of traditions just disappeared overnight. But, it is going to resume next season. The rivalry I’m talking about is Texas vs. Texas A&M. This was the biggest game of the year in the state of Texas. The Red River Shootout is just a warmup. The level of hatred for this game is unmatched. In fact, this hatred causes booster from both sides to make rash decisions like fire good coaches with winning records or give a coach a guaranteed contract and pay him $74M to go away. The fact that the Aggie fight song is solely about disparaging UT should tell you something. The traditions surrounding the game are second to none. The Aggie bonfire, midnight yell practice and the Texas alumni hex ceremony are just a few. However, I’m not so sure about the accuracy of the tradition of taking the winning seniors to The Chicken Ranch. That was probably just made for the The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas movie. But, the depiction of the senator paying for everything is very accurate.
  24. This kid was a Freshman phenom until Cristobal got his claws into him. Somehow, Mario convinced him not to transfer to Bama for this season, but now it seems TVD has had enough of this offense. I don’t think he will venture too far from the East Coast, but I can promise you he will regain his Freshman year form with the right coach. Tyler Van Dyke non-committal for bowl game and to Miami in 2024 247SPORTS.COM Tyler Van Dyke, the Miami Hurricanes' primary starting quarterback over the past three seasons, is unsure if he will play in the bowl game or return to Coral Gables for a fifth season in 2024.
  25. Yeah, they’re milking it. They even made t-shirts…for a regular season game. I would personally wait until the Pac-12 Championship t-shirts come available…which is exactly what I’m going to do.
