  1. Dan Lanning could take Oregon’s QB competition right up to kickoff against Georgia SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM The only thing Dan Lanning will tell us about Oregon's quarterback starter is that it won't be him.
  2. It’s hard to believe that you left a Rose Bowl HOFer off this list.
  3. The DB’s were well represented. That’s a tough team to make as a CB or Safety. A lot of great ones didn’t make it. I also think that Wesley Mallard should’ve been one of the LB’s just because of his name.
  4. Freshman wideout Kyler Kasper impressing Oregon’s coaches in fall camp SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Freshman Oregon wideout Kyler Kasper has had a strong camp.
  5. He has great size, but he ran a very slow 40 time for a CB. I don’t think he got a free agent contract. Hopefully, he pops up in the USFL or XFL.
  6. No surprises here. However, I’m surprised Cam Hunt actually made it to the NFL. NFL 2022 roster cuts tracker: Running list of team-by-team moves, preseason cuts for all 32 clubs WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM

  8. Sark, is that you? If I had to pick a game where I would expect to run into absolutely zero opposing fans in the local bars, the BYU game would be the one. Anyway, who am I to judge? I’m sure I took my first drink of beer while I was still in diapers. I have never been to a noon game, but everybody still tailgates around the stadium. They just do it all classy-like with Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas. Just kidding, Duck fans can get redneck with the best of them, so expect to see plenty of beer. We don’t have the tailgating “prowess” as some of our northerly neighbors, but we also don’t drop home games to Montana. I always parked at the Masonic Lodge across from PK Park. They charged a flat fee for the car and had plenty of portable toilets. Just remember to BYOB. Save some for the end of the game as it can take a while for MLK to clear up enough for you to drive out of there. The after-parties are always the best anyway.
  9. Everybody needs to keep in mind that these rankings were likely based on their performances at Oregon. That is why you don’t see Herbert. He only ever made honorable mention All Pac-12. Also, Russ Francis only played a little more than one season in Eugene with no all-conference honors and Dan Fouts’ TD/INT ratio for his career was 37/54.
  10. NY Giants optimistic that Kayvon Thibodeaux avoided major knee injury DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A report from Tom Pelissero shows that the Giants feel confident that Kayvon Thibodeaux avoided a...
  11. Report: Oregon among teams being considered in Big Ten expansion DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Conference realignment talks are heating back up for the Ducks after the Big Ten signed the massive...
  12. UGA 31-13. I think the Duck defense will play well, but turnovers will likely give the Dawgs a short field a time or two.
  13. I thought this was about Sadiq. That one had to sting a bit because Sadiq didn’t have Oregon in his final list of teams.
  14. Adam Morrison was a good college player. Ducks would’ve been lucky to have him back in the day.
  15. I checked his stats. He averaged single digits in everything. He can probably contribute a little but he’s being offered because of his dad’s influence. Kind of like the Dungy kid who played WR for Chip.
  16. I get it. They lost and entire coaching staff and their backfields on both sides of the ball. Their rank is based off of their trenches. They have tons of talent but no continuity. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were 1-2 before conference play and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were 3-0. After the Ohio State game last year anything is possible in the first couple of weeks.
  17. LeBron is a Nike guy. That might be significant.
  18. I always though the term “corch” was minted by U.S. Representative Corrine Brown during her speech to the House where she formally congratulated “Corch Irving Meyers” and the Florida Gator football team for the 2008 national championship.
  19. To me, the ASU loss wasn’t the issue. The issue was that Oregon had arguably the best QB in the nation in JH, but nobody knew it. Including Mario. The fact that he was only ever Honorable Mention All-Pac 12 says a lot about his coaching. The Chargers had to be giddy about getting a great QB with low mileage.
  20. No season ending injuries every week and get stops on 3rd and 17.
  21. This SDS article obviously focuses on a few big SEC moments at the end, but it’s a great read. I never knew Vin Scully got his start in college football. I know everybody’s favorite call is The Pick call by Jerry Allen, but what are some of your other favorite calls? It doesn’t have to be Duck related as long as it doesn’t put USC or the fuskies in a good light. I always loved Jerry Allen’s call at the end of the 2010 Civil War. It wasn’t exciting, but the emotion he showed made it memorable. Vin Scully’s passing a reminder to celebrate legendary broadcasters and the moments they immortalize WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Vin Scully is a reminder to celebrate all that is great about sports, including those who narrate the action.
