  1. UO’s entire linebacker crew must of felt like they woke up in heaven when Lanning came to town. I can not wait to see this D going pedal to the metal on 3 rd down. Too bad KT is gone this year. He’d probably have twenty sacks and go number one overall if he stayed.
  2. Nice to know that as Duck fans begin to bond with UGA fans, we now have a common fusky enemy.
  3. After four years of watching the Maserati used to pull out stumps in the back forty, it will be great to see what it can do on the autobahn.
  4. For upper level guys ( potential first round picks), NIL should be the last priority. For them the money will come soon anyway. What should be a priority is the amount of top quality training you can get before turning pro. It looks like half of Lanning’s UGA D is heading towards first round picks. That equates to a much higher paycheck in the NFL than any NIL deal they’ll get in college.
  5. More March sanity in Beaver nation.
  6. In the Pete Carrol glory years, USC was a whopping 4-2 vs the Ducks. In the Chris Peterson glory years, the Fuskies where a whopping 2-5 vs the Ducks. The Ducks will be just fine no matter what their rivals do.
  7. I did some quick interweb research and it looks like Bigby was ranked anywhere between 24-29 with some rankings putting her at five star.
  8. Don’t want to disparage the lady athletes but EOfan said it well. I second this comment. What I’d like to know is what was up with Taylor Bigby this year? Was she injured? I read that she was another real deal five star but didn’t see her at all.
  9. Bidding wars= Players telling coaches what to do = no thanks There’s plenty of players out there that just want to hit someone real hard and will gladly do it for the Ducks. Sign them up and pass on the bidding war guys.
  10. Travis was one of the best true warriors to ever put on a Duck uniform. I will never have a negative thought about the guy. He was the perfect Lombardi style back for Mario’s Lombardi style offense. How many times did he shake off a defender in the back field, power through another defender at the line of scrimmage then drag another for a five yard gain? He may have seen his fit being less than ideal for the new wide open style offense coming in which may have contributed to his looking elsewhere and I can’t really blame him. I see his joining USC more as going home and not going to a rival but that’s just me.
  11. One thing I’ve seen Lanning mention repeatedly is his excitement about the Nike based NIL opportunities at the UO. Being the way ahead of the curve innovator that he is, it may be a good idea for him to lead the path forward for the UO’s NIL education program. That alone could keep the entire Duck machine ahead of the curve.
  12. Mario fully botched the QB situation by keeping games way to close and never letting backups see the field in clean up time. AB should have been pulled from the bowl game after the first couple three and outs. Since he stayed in till the end, their is no clear indicator of either remaining QBs on field capabilities. it’s an unfortunate situation for all involved. The players, team, coaches and fans have no choice but to just see how it all plays out.
  13. I said it earlier and I’ll say it again. We may be greatly underestimating the scale of the Lanning tsunami arriving on our shore. The dude seems to be the full spectrum real deal. Recruiting, staff building, team chemistry, game planning, motivational speaker and one freaking football coach all rolled into one! He wants the spring game packed and with super stoked players making plays all over the field, he’ll be impressing a bunch of 4 1/2-5 star recruits in the process. The guy seems to not just win but dominate every aspect of coaching there is. Go Ducks!
  14. Great post Jon. Far better than most articles on other sites. I think the biggest problem the PAC has isn’t inside the box thinking. It’s more like inside the yacht thinking. if the view from the top is of an elite club instead of a conference competing for national relevance, then we are truly in a hopeless situation. Too bad the decision makers don’t share your thoughts on expansion. I’d love to see your ideas come to life.
  15. Both coaches addressed and accessed the glaring problems both teams had quite clearly. They both sounded pretty frustrated with a sense of entitlement from the players. Altman sounded like he was ready to sweep half the team out the door and start over! Good luck to both teams getting back on track next year. Sorry to hear the news about Junior. Sounds like his life took a turn for the worse and died before being able to turn things around.
  16. I'd love for Nyara to come back but with all her injuries in her career, it may be wise to take the money and run.
  17. Luckily our MMB cornflakes we’re already whizzed on a few games back!
  18. A sad day for the University of Prowess.
  19. I like the contrast between the stories about Lanning's team building through connecting and bonding and the USC coach's $17,000,000 bling palace. It tells me the kind of players each program will go after and where each program will wind up in a few years. The me vs we couldn't be made more clearer.
  20. It's time to think about the world we're going to leave behind for Keith Richards....... and Tom Brady.
  21. Wow. Lanning really takes his 1% better each day philosophy seriously. That concept was behind nearly every quote in the article. It also made me think that he wasn't just the be st D coordinator in the country last year but that he was also one of the best at what he was in charge of last year. This year, he's in charge of the entire team! Man I can't wait till September!
  22. For every Cam Newton that’s all about the $$$, there will be a Casey Mathews waiting to knock him into oblivion.
