Coach Lanning: LaMichael James Making a Pitch to Join Your Staff!
I don't mean to tell DL how to do his job but this needs to get done yesterday!

Mycah Pittman Explains Why He Decided to Transfer.
Now I wonder if Moorhead opens up the offense full throttle at the Alamo just to revive his reputation as an offensive wiz.

Mycah Pittman Explains Why He Decided to Transfer.
Also if Mario stayed, we'd be stuck forking out 8 mil a year to watch players leave the team and his brand of snooze ball. Thank you Miami!

Mycah Pittman Explains Why He Decided to Transfer.
It's almost surprising how not surprising his explanation is. I think if Mario had stayed, there would have been an exodus of offensive players.

Seven McGee In the Transfer Portal...but WAIT!
I hope Dan the man told Seven that he sees many explosion plays in his future as a Duck.

Final Version: Pertinent Quotes from the Dan Lanning Press Conference
I remember that 3rd grade basketball team. They were no joke!

Final Version: Pertinent Quotes from the Dan Lanning Press Conference
Mario seemed to embrace Vince Lombardi ball and just pound the other team long enough and get out with a win. Lanning seems to embrace dominating the other team in all phases and the wins will follow. I know which one I prefer.

Recruiting Getting Hurt?
I think we may be way under estimating the gravitational pull of The best D coordinator in the country coming out to Nike U.

Guys, did we just hire...
I think we got the guy that could talk a velociraptor into playing for the Ducks.

Busy Lanning
It's hard not to believe that Mario had mentally checked out on his Ducks gig even before the first Utah game when the playoffs were still in play. He obviously was checked out when the Rose Bowl was in play. Lanning's character in finishing what he started at UGA adds another level of upgrade in my opinion.

Canzano: Place Your Bets on the New Pac-12 Coaches
Fuskies will now have just enough hope to be gut punched by their yearly beat down. USC will now have enough cred to give the Ducks that coveted quality win.
-
Busy Lanning
Sounds like his main role at UGA will be reduced to game prep which should free up some crucial time to get a top notch OC and stabilize the recruiting class.
-
Play a new QB in San Antonio
I'm pretty sure DL will want as much tape on the guys he's coaching next year that he can get.
-
Lousy Hire
Actively coaching in the playoffs sounds like a great way to bring in recruits to me.

Oregon AD Press Release: Oregon Announces Dan Lanning As New Leader Of Oregon Football
I'm happier than a duck in ducknip!

Its Done! With Class! CBS Sports Explanation of Lanning/Oregon
So I'm guessing giving receivers a fifteen yard cushion on 3rd and twelve won't be a thing anymore.

What is THAT SOUND Coming from Seattle, Corvallis and Los Angeles?
That gloating smile on USC's face just developed a nervous tick.

Canzano's Latest, No Deal In Place Yet
You can only deny something for so long until everybody knows that it's true.

Want to know about Dan Lanning?
If the UO wants to stay cutting edge, they need to get ahead of the pack. That's what they did with Chip. That's what they should do with Lanning.
-
What Would Lanning Bring, What Would We Expect?
The dude has basically gone from ball boy to top coordinator in the country in just 7-8 years. The guy is only 35. That's a trajectory that tells me he hasn't come close to hitting his peak yet. On the other hand, I think Mario hit his peak in 2019 thanks to Herbert and Troy Dye being handed to him as Seniors. He's been coasting ever since.
-
What Would Lanning Bring, What Would We Expect?
Expectations: Saved recruiting class, Some recruits follow him here, continued recruiting success, top O coordinator brought in, Pac North domination. Pac domination. playoff contender.
-
Dan Lanning or......
I'm sure there are extra sensitive negotiations happening behind the scenes due to Georgia's playoff run. I also think it's best for both schools to get this wrapped up sooner than later. Georgia doesn't want rumors turning into distractions and UO doesn't want recruits abandoning ship around signing day. An announcement anytime between today and Monday sounds about right.

Mike Bellotti: Why Not a One-Year Interim Coach?
If the Lanning deal falls through I'd say this is the way to go. What ever damage to one recruiting class and portal exodus happens, it would be worth it to get that top dog hire locked in the next year.

I mean...Did They Not See This Coming?
If Mario thought getting booed in the stands was bad, wait until he gets booed in the faculty room.

Quick Overview of Lannings Georgia D
Here’s a quick overview of just how amazing the UGA defense was this year. Points allowed SEC: 66 in eight games. Next best is 171 by AnM Points allowed total: 83 in 12 games. Next best is 191 by AnM Points allowed per game SEC: 13 South Carolina, 0 Vanderbilt, 0 Arkansas, 10 Auburn, 13 Kentucky, 7 Florida, 6 Missouri, 17 Tennessee Also only gave up 3 to Clemson. That’s no soft schedule. UGA’s defense ranks at the top or in the top 5 in the country in almost every significant statistical category including total yards per game as well both run and passing yards. Lanning has been the UGA defensive coordinator since 2018 so that entire defensive squad are his guys. He seems like the real deal. If this hire happens, it could be an epic event.
