Agreed. With the way the puppy fans turn on their own (see Roberts et al) their proclaims of loyalty sure wring hypocritical. If I were a recruit and their family, that sour fan base would be a huge red flag. So let them chase good people away. Saw it firsthand. My kid was recruited at UW (not football) and despite being offered, went elsewhere because of the feeling of the whole culture.

The author 3 separate times incorrectly takes it as a given that transferring to San Diego State and Mountain West is a step down from UW. “Sour grapes” much?! Aztecs won 12 games including over Utah. They won 10 games in the prior normal season (2019) including at UCLA by 9 points. Mountain West is 5-1 in bowl games including a beat down of Oregon State, who beat the Huskies. That same MWC team won at WSU, who also beat down UW. SDSU and other top MWC teams are absolutely > UW right now. Players and their families certainly think so.

Despite clear deficiencies so am glad Lanning is here…Mario did go undefeated against UW and the LA schools, got our best road win ever (tOSU), 2 Pac12 titles, and a Rose Bowl win. Those are to be appreciated (though I am glad he is gone).

Transfer portal with NIL is absolutely pay for play and immediate. Something has to be fixed.

Sure hope so as FSU stats are meh. It is widely accepted he did not call the plays at Auburn so harder to correlate that short stint. Though some reported Coach D was not happy with his role there, so implies his stamp was not on those results. I do buy that FSU talent was a mess, and even those recruiting rankings shown above ended worse as not all those guys stayed, especially given what Willie did to the program. I also hang my hat on seeing how many coaches wanted coach D with them, and former players saying he is their favorite coach ever. That is proof in the pudding for me. Everyone wants successful people around them.

All good thoughts, but I do not see Rob and Phil playing.a bluff game of chicken. If it was offered, it was meant to get JW. But unless I missed it, I still did not see JW confirm it nor substantiate the Friday and Saturday attempts. All stories I have seen still only point to Canzano as the source. And he missed badly on so many other items that I just do not fully believe him on details, until he publicly shares his source or substantiates it elsewhere. UO declined to respond to the story. In his interview with Canzano, Akili Smith said he would be shocked that JW turned it down and would not know why he would.
